Comunidad / Community Ciudad destaca la importancia de apoyar a los bancos de alimentos Kissimmee, FL Anualmente, la Ciudad de Kissimmee provee financiación mediante subvenciones a agencias locales sin fines de lucro, que ofrecen servicios necesarios y especializados, así como distribución de alimentos a personas de edad avanzada, adultos impedidos y familias desfavorecidas en el condado Osceola. Los bancos o despensas de alimentos se ofrecen semanalmente en múltiples localidades y estos son libre de costo. Algunos de los lugares donde se le provee una bolsa de comida o una comida es en Osceola Council on Aging, Community Hope Center, Help Now, entre otros. Cientos de individuos y familias se benefician de este servicio. Las personas pueden llamar al 2-1-1, un servicio de United Way para que puedan ser conectados a los recursos de servicios sociales cuando necesitan ayuda o para encontrar un centro de distribución de comida. Osceola Council on Aging es una de las agencias sin fines de lucro locales que ofrece una despensa de alimentos, así como comidas congregadas para personas de la tercera edad. “Tenemos a unas 80 personas que vienen los martes y jueves para buscar comida. Los únicos requisitos son ser residente y necesitar comida en la casa porque hay personas que tienen emergencias”, dijo la vicepresidenta de Meals on Wheels en Osceola Council on Aging, Wilda Belisle. Aunque Osceola Council on Aging ofrece este servicio semanalmente, dependen de voluntarios para que hagan donaciones de comida u organicen colectas de alimentos. “Este banco de alimentos ayuda a las necesidades de la comunidad. Tenemos una gran comunidad que traen muchas donaciones todas las semanas y lo agradecemos con todo nuestro corazón”, añadió Belisle. Este servicio no solo le provee una comida caliente y nutritiva sino tiempo para socializar. Frances Swinson de 93 años es uno de muchos residentes que se benefician del banco de alimentos, así como de la comida para personas de la tercera edad. Este servicio se ofrece en varias localidades dentro del Condado. Hundreds of individuals and families benefit from this service. Individuals can contact 2-1-1, a free service provided by United Way to be connected to social services resources when they need help or even find a food distribution center. Osceola Council on Aging is one of the local non-profit agencies that offer a food pantry and also a congregate meal for senior citizens. “We have about 80 people that come on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get food from us. The only requirement is to be a resident and need food at their house because some people are going through emergencies,” said Wilda Belisle, Vice president of Meals on Wheels with Osceola Council on Aging. Although Osceola Council on Aging offers this weekly service, they rely on community volunteers to donate food or host food drives. “This food pantry helps the need of the community. We have a great community that gives a lot of donations every week, and we appreciate that with all of our hearts,” added Belisle. These efforts make a difference in someone’s life, no matter the age. Some of the many items needed at local food pantries are:

Another service provided by Osceola Council on Aging for individuals 60 years or older is the congregate meal or the Senior Dining Club, which provides not only a hot, nutritious meal but also socialization during lunchtime. St. Cloud Noticias / News Nuevo servicio en línea hará que sea más fácil hacer negocios con la ciudad St. Cloud, FL - La Ciudad de St. Cloud se encuentra en las etapas finales de su lanzamiento de Community Development, un paquete de software basado en Internet que permite el acceso en línea a numerosos recursos de la ciudad las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana. En la fase inicial, el servicio en línea permitirá a los usuarios presentar planes y permisos de construcción, solicitar inspecciones, realizar un seguimiento de las revisiones y monitorear los permisos de construcción. New online service will make it easier to do business with the city St. Cloud, FL - The City of St. Cloud is in the final stages of its launch of Community Development, an internet-based software package that allows online access to numerous city resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the initial phase, the online service will allow users to submit building plans and permits, request inspections, track reviews and monitor building permits. A payment portal will be included in the final phase of the project. Among the departments that will use the Community Development system are Building, Code Enforcement, Environmental Utilities, Planning and Zoning, Public Works and St. Cloud Fire Rescue. As city staff prepared for the mid-November launch, residents and contractors were being advised that on Friday, November 15th staff would be unable to process plans, permits or licensing. Scheduled inspections continued during this time. Normal service were resumed on Monday, November 18th.

In addition to serving as a meeting point for the Venezuelan community of Central Florida, this activity will be used to raise funds in order to bring financial assistance towards the social and humanitarian crisis that nowadays is living in Venezuela.

Martínez, de la oficina de Asuntos Multiculturales y Relaciones Internacionales del Alcalde de Orlando, Buddy Dyer; Kim King- Maysonet, de la División de Desarrollo de Negocios de la Ciudad de Orlando; Maritza Rabinowitz, portavoz del Servicio de Rentas Internas (IRS, en inglés) en Florida; Roxanna de la Riva, periodista y coordinadora de medios sociales del periódico La Prensa y Caroline Soto, estratega de negocios y directora de Despliega tu Actitud.

La empresaria colombiana Olga Marcela Restrepo, propietaria de Sky Builders USA, en Orlando y embajadora del programa de certificación de empresas para minorías y mujeres de la Ciudad de Orlando, moderó el panel de conferencistas que captaron la atención con sus presentaciones y contestando las preguntas del público. La plataforma Conexión Hispana conducida por las periodistas Cecilia Figueroa y Gheidy de la Cruz, crearon ese taller diseñado en español y de forma interactiva para ayudar a las mujeres y hombres en su crecimiento profesional y expansión de negocio en la Florida Central. El evento realizado en las instalaciones de Costco Business Center, fue concurrido y muchos de los asistentes disfrutaron del acogedor ambiente. Luis Martínez empezó la sesión informativa con su presentación del proceso de la Certificación de Negocios Minoritarios y Mujeres en la Ciudad de Orlando, y explicó las ventajas que provee esta certificación para las empresas y el por qué muchos negocios deberían contemplarlo entre sus planes. Precisamente, Vivian Vargas, una de las asistentes, dijo que toda la información recibida fue valiosa y que le encantó la presentación de cada uno de los expertos en las diversas ramas. Otra de las asistentes, salió satisfecha del taller, “casi 20 años como comerciante, es la primera vez que veo un evento, en donde impresionantemente está todo lo que hace falta para empezar un negocio. La dinámica es espectacular”, expresó Isabel Crespo. Mientras, Diva Velásquez, gerente del mercado latino de la empresa New York Life en Orlando, fue uno de los auspiciantes para la realización de este taller gratuito y dijo haber valido la pena el tiempo invertido en este evento que le permitió conocer a mujeres con grandes sueños. Mónica Chavero, presidenta del Concilio Hispano de la Cámara de Comercio de Kissimmee y Osceola aplaudió el trabajo realizado en este taller exitoso. Los asistentes se deleitaron con un menú variado del restaurante Melao Bakery, además algunas de ellas, fueron las ganadoras de canastas de regalos, boletos para conciertos de Anuel AA y Marc Anthony, a realizarse en Orlando, flores, perfume, chocolates, tarjetas de regalos, entre otras sorpresas. Categorizing all NBA teams A quarter of a season has been left behind, and little by little the 30 NBA teams begin to show who they are. Some seem to be candidates for everything, others would be candidates for the lottery. Let’s categorize them all after their matches on December 4. Candidates for Everything Category: LAKERS, CLIPPERS, BUCKS
Lakers y Celtics han sido dos de los mejores equipos esta temporada. ¿Se verán las caras en las Finales?
Those who everyone expected were the top 3 candidates at the beginning of the year... are the ones with the best 3 records at this point. Both LeBron and AD are playing at MVP level this year, and the Lakers only lost one game in November. The Clippers are a little behind, but Kawhi and PG13 have barely played 6 games together this year (winning 5). And Antetokounmpo is playing at an incredible level, even better than his 2018-19 MVP season.
