El Festival de Comida Mexicana pone en alto a México Orlando, FL – El sábado 20, de abril de 2019, se llevó a cabo el 1er Festival de Comida Mexicana en la Florida. Este es el evento con mayor exposición y convocatoria con la temática de México en lo que va de este año. Este Festival de Comida Mexicana fue organizado por el Club Migrante Guanajuatense en la Florida. Cocineras tradicionales provenientes del municipio de Comonfort, Guanajuato, deleitaron al público, con sopes, mole, costillitas, tamales, entre otros platillos tradicionales preparados al momento, con ingredientes originales. El Festival fue organizado por la presidenta del Club Guanajuatense y VP de la organización Colectivo Árbol, Isaret Jeffers. Además de la comida mexicana, hubo grupos de danzas y bailes folclóricos, cómo “Ameyal”, bajo la dirección de Alfredo Martínez y “México Lindo”, que dirige Gisela Maldonado. Las cocineras tradicionales hicieron tortillas a mano, y fueron reconocidas durante este evento por su talento. Ellas son: María Salud Rico, Leticia Sandía Téllez y Natividad Rojas.
Además de la música tradicional mexicana, destacó la participación de Ka Milinalli, que con su guitarra y su voz deleitó al público. Club Migrante Guanajuatense en Florida entregó obsequios en forma de reconocimiento para todos los participantes, que hicieron posible esta fiesta de sabor, música y color, poniendo en alto el nombre de México. Entre los asistentes, destacan: la maestra Johana López, representante del Distrito 2 en Orange County School Board; la Comisionada Maribel Cordero del Condado Orange; los señores Guillermo “Bill” Hansen y Yolanda Hansen del periódico El Osceola Star; los abogados Anthony Suárez y Karen Diaz de Suárez; la abogada Aggie Chávez de la firma Provinsky, Chávez y Cole; la locutora de radio Betty Amador. Además de Adolfina Ortiz, administradora de Venues-Amway Center de la Ciudad de Orlando; Gaby Ortigoni de la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Metro Orlando; la reconocida fotógrafa Laura Garza; Luz Rodríguez del Foro de Mujeres Dominicanas; Bernardita Sierra de PSAT Counseling Services; Margie Viera, cofundadora de “Aspire to Inspire Hispanic Youth Program”, entre otras personalidades.

Delicios Mexican food delighted the public prepared by traditional cooks from the municipality of Comonfort, Guanajuato.
Mexican Food Festival debuts in Central Florida music, the participation of Ka Milinalli, Orlando, FL – On Saturday, April 20, 2019, the 1st Mexican Food Festival was held in Florida. This is the event with the greatest exposure and convening with the theme of Mexico so far this year. This Mexican Food Festival was organized by the Guanajuatense Migrant Club in Florida. Traditional cooks from the municipality of Comonfort, Guanajuato, delighted the public, with sopes, mole, ribs, tamales, among other traditional dishes prepared at the time, with original ingredients. The Festival was organized by the president of the Guanajuatense Club and VP of “Colectivo Arbol” organization, Isaret Jeffers. In addition to Mexican food, there were groups of dances and folk dances, like "Ameyal", directed by Alfredo Martínez and "México Lindo", directed by Gisela Maldonado. El gobernador Ron DeSantis lanza la iniciativa ambiental Super Bowl LIV Ocean to Everglades esta iniciativa por establecer un Key Biscayne, FL – El 22 de abril, el gobernador Ron DeSantis se unió al Comité Anfitrión del Super Bowl de Miami para ayudar a lanzar Ocean to Everglades (O2E), la iniciativa ambiental del Super Bowl LIV. Governor Ron DeSantis launch Super Bowl LIV environmental initiative Ocean to Everglades in this initiative for putting a plan in Key Biscayne, FL – On April 22, Governor Ron DeSantis joined the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee to help launch Ocean to Everglades (O2E), the Super Bowl LIV environmental initiative. The initiative is a partnership between the host committee, NFL Green, Ocean Conservancy and The Everglades Foundation to raise awareness and reduce the environmental impact of the Super Bowl. “Florida is prime for marquee sporting events and we are honored to host the Super Bowl in Miami next year,” said Governor DeSantis. “However, hosting such an event is a tremendous undertaking with a great responsibility. Preserving our environment is important to many Floridians, especially in South Florida, so I am thankful to the host committee and the partners involved

Condado Osceola, FL - La presidenta de la comisión, Cheryl Grieb, ofreció el 7mo estado de situación anual del Condado Osceola, con el tema "Growing Osceola’s Future" (Creciendo el futuro de Osceola), a los comisionados del Condado Osceola, a los dignatarios, a los miembros de la comunidad y a otros invitados. 7th Annual State of Osceola County Osceola County, FL - Commission Chairwoman Cheryl Grieb delivered the 7th annual State of the County address, themed, “Growing Osceola’s Future,” to Osceola County Commissioners, dignitaries, community members and other guests. The event was free and open to the public. Commissioner Grieb said: “We want to make of Osceola County a place where you can live, work and play. We are working in improving the water quality of the county. Neo City will have a retaining pond that will have a 5K track where you can launch a kayak and fish. We are planting seeds for the future; we have a long term commitment. We are growing a great future for Osceola County”.

It is recognized as Business Chairman's Award, along with Osceola County Commissioner Fred Hawkins and Jordan Munns.
During the event recognition was given to two Osceola County businessmen: • Mark Miller – founder of Arabian Nights and Experience Kissimmee. Beloved local philanthropist and visionary leader. Widely hailed as one of the founders of Osceola County’s modern-day tourism economy. Tomasa Sánchez represented Mark
Miller in receiving the ‘Chairman’s Award’. • Sam Haught – Wild Florida. Wild Florida is an animal and airboat park in Osceola County, but they became famous for performing numerous airboat rescues of stranded North Carolina families, individuals, and pets following the deadly flooding in North Carolina left by Hurricane Florence. Wild Florida received the ‘Business Chairman’s Award’. All attendees left with seed packets from 4-H and native Florida plants and trees to continue growing Osceola’s future: • Dune sunflower • Sunshine mimosa • Twin flower • Silver leaf aster • Beach blanket flower • Red salvia “Growing Osceola County’s Future” was this year’s theme. Kissimmee, FL – Kissimmee/ Osceola Chamber of Commerce mourns the loss of Pete Edwards, who passed away On Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Pete served as the first President/CEO of the Chamber in the 1970s and was currently one of their Chamber Ambassadors. He was also the first Director of the KissimmeeSt. Cloud Convention & Visitor's Bureau (known today as Experience Kissimmee,), served for many years as Executive Director of the Osceola Center for the Arts (known today as Osceola Arts), and as Executive Director of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he sat on the boards of many organizations in our community and was a great champion for education, including serving two terms as Chairman of the Osceola County School District school board. Orlando News / Noticias Alcalde Buddy Dyer y jefe de la Policía Orlando Rolón anuncian nueva estructura innovadora Orlando, FL - Debido a que la máxima prioridad del Municipio de Orlando y el Departamento de Policía es mantener a los residentes, visitantes y negocios seguros, el martes, 23 de abril, el alcalde de Orlando Buddy Dyer, el jefe de la policía Orlando Rolón, comisionados de la ciudad y miembros del Departamento de Policía de Orlando anunciaron formalmente el nuevo plan operacional de la agencia que asigna a más oficiales en la comunidad en momentos en que las solicitudes de servicio por parte de los ciudadanos se encuentran en su nivel más alto y promueve la colaboración entre las unidades especializadas del departamento. La reorganización que entró en efecto este mes, mueve a policías patrullando durante 12 horas, a horarios en los que más hace falta personal de la unidad de patrullaje. Las horas pico donde hace falta mayor vigilancia son entre 7 AM a 12 AM en días de semana y de 3 AM a 3 PM los fines de semana. Peak hours where more vigilance is needed are between 7 AM to 12 AM on weekdays and from 3 AM to 3 PM on weekends.

Tres eventos comunitarios se llevarán a cabo en el Condado Osceola de 12:00 del mediodía a 1:00 p.m. en la corte del Condado Osceola, en la Alcaldía de la Ciudad de Kissimmee y en la Alcaldía de St. Cloud. Operación "Best Foot Forward" Condado Osceola, FL - Con el mes de abril siendo el Mes Nacional de Concientización sobre la Conducción Distraída, el 17 y el 18 de abril oficiales del Condado Osceola, Policía de Kissimmee y la Policía de St. Cloud realizaron una serie de medidas de represión en el cruce de peatones. Durante el período de dos días, los oficiales emitieron un total de 81 citaciones y 19 advertencias a los conductores. Los comisionados del Condado Osceola Viviana Janer y Cheryl Grieb salieron a observar la operación. Nombrada la Operación “Best Foot Forward”, el “crosswalk enforcement” es parte de un esfuerzo más integral para educar a los conductores sobre
las leyes del derecho de paso de Florida y para frenar el patrón de comportamiento agresivo hacia los peatones. Durante la operación, policías vestidos de civil cruzaron la calle en cruces marcados, dando a los conductores tiempo suficiente para ceder y detenerse. Los conductores que no se detuvieron, recibieron una advertencia o una citación de tráfico de $166 y tres puntos en su licencia. Operation Best Foot Forward Osceola County, FL - With April being National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, on April 17 and 18 Osceola County Deputies, Kissimmee Police Officers and St. Cloud police conducted a series of crosswalk crackdowns. Over the two-day period, officers and deputies issued a total of 81 citations and 19 warnings to drivers. Commissioners Viviana Janer and Cheryl Grieb came out to observe the operation. Dubbed Operation Best Foot Forward, crosswalk enforcement is part of a more comprehensive effort to educate
drivers about Florida’s right-of-way laws and curb the pattern of aggressive behavior towards pedestrians. During the operation, plainclothes deputies and officers crossed the street at marked crosswalks, giving drivers ample time to yield and stop. Drivers who failed to stop, were issued a warning or a $166 traffic citation and three points on their license. ¿Cómo Calificar la Temporada del Orlando Magic? El pasado martes, y de manera abrupta, la temporada 2018-19 del Magic ha llegado a su fin. A pesar de ganar el Juego 1 en casa de los Raptors, los Magic cayeron eliminados 4 juegos a 1, perdiendo cuatro partidos seguidos por un margen promedio de 15 puntos, incluyendo los dos en el Amway Center. Orlando cometió muchos errores y no alcanzó el nivel del primer duelo en Toronto, y ni las manos metió en su camino a la eliminación. Habrá decepción y frustración en la fanaticada del Magic, que es entendible, puesto que las esperanzas estuvieron a tope después del triunfo en casa de una de las plantillas más talentosas de toda la liga. Pero hay que ponerle un poquito de contexto a la temporada del equipo. Para empezar, hay que remontarnos al inicio de la temporada baja. El proyecto Frank Vogel no funcionó, así que Steve Clifford tomó las riendas del equipo, sin esperar demasiado de él. En el draft, tomaron (otra vez) a un hombre grandote, Mo Bamba, a pesar de que abundan en el equipo (Vucevic, Gordon, Isaac), y en vez de un guardia en una liga dominada por ellos. Si bien el Este se debilitaba tras la partida de LeBron, pocos esperábamos que Orlando tuviera suficiente para los playoffs. Pero a lo largo del año, gracias a grandes actuaciones de vez en cuando de Fournier, Augustin, Isaac, Gordon, Ross, y sobretodo, el MVP del equipo,
Nikola Vucevic, el trabajo de Clifford comenzó a rendir frutos, y Orlando se mantenía en la pelea. Después de un increíble mes de marzo y un gran cierre en Abril (lo cual le valió el Entrenador del Mes a Steve Clifford), el Magic entró a la postemporada, con racha de 9 ganados en casa, y siendo campeón de la división sureste, terminando por encima de equipos en el papel mejores, como Detroit, Miami o Washington. Nikola Vucevic fue nombrado al AllStar (el primero del equipo desde el innombrable en 2012), y Orlando entró a su primera postemporada en 7 largos años, además de barrer a los Warriors, Lakers y Celtics en el año. Así que, más allá de la salida tempranera en playoffs, el Magic superó todas las expectativas en una temporada sumamente positiva. Nadie esperó que llegaran a playoffs, ni que ganaran un partido en Toronto (mucho mejor equipo en todos los sentidos), ni que ganaran la división, ni que tuvieran un All-Star, ni que ligaran 9 sin perder en el Amway Center. How to Define the Orlando Magic’s Season? Last Tuesday, in an abrupt way, the 2018-19 Magic season has come to an end. Despite winning Game 1 at the Raptors, the Magic fell four games to one, losing four straights by an average margin of 15 points, including both at the Amway Center. Orlando made many mistakes and did not match the level of the first match in Toronto, and they couldn’t do much in their way to elimination. There will be disappointment and frustration in Magic's fans, which is understandable, since the hopes were high after the victory at home of one of the most talented rosters in the league. But let’s put a little bit of context to the team's season. To begin with, we must go back to the start of the offseason. The Frank Vogel project did not work, so Steve Clifford took over the team, without too much expectation from him. In the draft, they selected (again) a big man, Mo Bamba, although there’s plenty in the team (Vucevic, Gordon, Isaac), and instead of a guard in a league dominated by them. While the East was weakened after LeBron's departure, few expected Orlando to have enough for the playoffs. But throughout the year, thanks to great performances every now and then from Fournier, Augustin, Isaac, Gordon, Ross, and above all, the team's MVP,
Nikola Vucevic, Clifford's work began to show up, and Orlando stayed in the fight. After an incredible month of March and a big closure in April (which earned Steve Clifford Coach of the Month), the Magic entered the playoffs, with a winning streak of 9 at home, as champions of the southeast division, finishing above better teams on paper, such as Detroit, Miami or Washington. Nikola Vucevic was named All-Star (the team's first one since the-onewho-must-not-be-named in 2012), and Orlando entered their first postseason in 7 long years, in addition to sweeping the Warriors, Lakers and Celtics in the year. So, beyond the early exit in the playoffs, the Magic exceeded all expectations in an extremely positive season. No one expected them to make the playoffs, win a game in Toronto (a much better team in every way), win the division, have an All-Star player, or have 9 without losing in the Amway Center. It is necessary to see that, beyond the frustration of the elimination, it was a great season in many aspects.The following year Markelle Fultz will debut with the team (former 1st pick of the draft by Philadelphia), Orlando is in good hands with Clifford, Jeff Weltman (president of basketball operations) and John Hammond (general manager), and the only way is up.

Orlando, FL - On April 23rd, 2019, Orlando Magic played game 5 against the Toronto Raptors in Scotiabank Arena, Toronto. The Raptors defeated the Magic 11596 winning their first-round playoff series in 5 games of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Orlando Magic won the first game of the playoffs but lost four games in a row allowing Toronto to move forward to the Eastern Conference semifinals. Orlando Magic’s star players were the all-star center, Vucevic, and guard, Terrence Ross, who had an incredible season but struggled against the formidable defense of the Raptors with Ross scoring just twelve points and Vucevic scoring just six points and was 3-for-10 on shooting. Aaron Gordon also struggled finishing with 11 points. Magic found it difficult to shut down superstar forward, Kawhi Leonard, who secured 8 of 11 shots and connected on all five of his 3-point
shots and made all 6 free throws. Toronto Raptors are set to face off against Philadelphia 76ers in the postseason for the first time in 18 years. Orlando Magic’s journey has been truly unforgettable. Their defense throughout the season looked strong and although the Magic started their season slow, their late-run to get a spot in the playoffs will be one to remember. The last time Orlando Magic was in the playoffs was 2012. In late January, the Magic was 21-30 and managed to pull together a series of continuous victories, finishing the regular season 42-40. Orlando Magic won its final 9 games at the Amway Center, winning many late in the fourth-quarter. The future for Orlando Magic is looking bright, the team took tremendous strides to make it to 7th position in the Eastern Conference. The rebuilding process allowed for the Orlando Magic to finish strong and the late playoff rush has re-ignited the Orlando Magic fan base bringing together a wave of new support.
