Donaciones para la Policía de Puerto Rico Orlando, FL - El martes 16 de abril, funcionarios del Municipio de Orlando y Municipio de Maitland y oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Orlando se dispusieron a enviar equipo donado a Puerto Rico como parte de los esfuerzos de recuperación de la isla luego del paso del huracán María. El jefe de la policía Orlando Rolón y agentes del orden público fueron testigos de la devastación causada por el huracán María cuando fueron trasladados a la isla para asistir a las autoridades de Puerto Rico después del impacto de este fenómeno atmosférico. El evento se realizó en el Centro de

Comunicaciones del Departamento de Policía de Orlando. Entre las personas presentes estuvo el alcalde Buddy Dyer de Orlando, el alcalde Dale McDonald de la ciudad de Maitland, acompañados por oficiales de las dos ciudades. El equipo valorado en $900,000 ayudará en los esfuerzos de seguridad de la isla y será distribuido a ocho municipalidades de la zona oeste de la isla. Donations for the Puerto Rico Police Orlando, FL - On Tuesday, April 16, officials from the Municipality of Orlando and the Municipality of Maitland and officers from the Orlando Police Department set out to send donated equipment to Puerto Rico as part of the island's recovery efforts following the passage of the Hurricane Maria, Police Chief Orlando Rolón and law enforcement officers witnessed the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria when they were transferred to the island to assist the authorities of Puerto Rico after the impact of this atmospheric phenomenon. The event was held at the

Communications Center of the Orlando Police Department. Among those present was Mayor Buddy Dyer of Orlando, Mayor Dale McDonald of the city of Maitland, accompanied by officers from the two cities. The equipment valued at $900,000 will help in the island's security efforts and will be distributed to eight municipalities in the western zone of the island. Some of the equipment that were donated are communication equipment, bulletproof vests, ballistic shields, electronic control devices (tasers), radios, pedestals for computers and others.

KUA se prepara con simulacros para desastres Kissimmee, FL - Cientos de empleados de Kissimmee Utility Authority participaron en un simulacro de desastre el jueves 4 de abril para probar la preparación de la empresa para la temporada de huracanes de este año. El simulacro de cuatro horas desarrolló una amplia gama de actividades, que incluyeron entrenamiento de acción en vivo y ejercicios de mesa. KUA is prepared with disaster drills Kissimmee, FL - Hundreds of Kissimmee Utility Authority employees took part in a mock disaster drill on Thursday, April 4 to test the readiness of the utility for this year’s hurricane season. The four-hour drill involved a wide range of activities, including both live-action training and table top exercises. Activities included pre- and post-hurricane scenarios and other threats that were handled with the same intensity as real-life incidents. A team of observers evaluated the drill to identify vulnerabilities and exposures and make

recommendations for improvements. These observations will be shared with utility management in a drill debriefing. The drill did not impact normal utility operations. The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30. Weather forecasters are predicting the number of named storms and hurricanes in 2019 to be near- to slightly above-normal historical averages, with 12-14 storms, five to seven hurricanes and two to four major hurricanes.

Orlando News / Noticias Abril también es el mes del voluntariado: gracias a nuestros residentes desinteresados Orlando, FL - Gracias a todos los voluntarios de la ciudad de Orlando que limpian, leen, cultivan un huerto, construyen, pintan, juegan y más. Son la columna vertebral de la comunidad y la razón por la cual la ciudad continúa floreciendo como ciudad. Esta semana Orlando está diciendo gracias por ser voluntaria Sarah Dodson. Sarah acaba de comenzar su viaje de voluntaria como Lectora lista para embajadores de preescolar, una de las actividades del programa CARES de Orlando del alcalde Dyer, y en el último mes ha aportado una amplia experiencia y conocimientos a su servicio. The event was free and open to the public. Commissioner Grieb said: “We want to make of Osceola County a place where you can live, work and play. We are working in improving the water quality of the county. Neo City will have a retaining pond that will have a 5K track where you can launch a kayak and fish. We are planting seeds for the future; we have a long term commitment. We are growing a great future for Osceola County”. During the event recognition was given to two Osceola County businessmen: • Mark Miller – founder of Arabian Nights and Experience Kissimmee. Beloved local philanthropist and visionary leader. Widely hailed as one of the founders of Osceola County’s modern-day tourism economy. Tomasa Sánchez represented Mark

Miller in receiving the ‘Chairman’s Award’. • Sam Haught – Wild Florida. Wild Florida is an animal and airboat park in Osceola County, but they became famous for performing numerous airboat rescues of stranded North Carolina families, individuals, and pets following the deadly flooding in North Carolina left by Hurricane Florence. Wild Florida received the ‘Business Chairman’s Award’. All attendees left with seed packets from 4-H and native Florida plants and tree to continue growing Osceola’s future: • Dune sunflower • Sunshine mimosa • Twin flower • Silver leaf aster • Beach blanket flower • Red salvia “Growing Osceola County’s Future” was this year’s theme. Comunidad / Community El ORMC y el ER de Hunter´s Creek participan en simulacro de desastre Kissimmee, FL - El Osceola Regional Medical Center (ORMC) y su departamento de emergencias independiente, Hunter´s Creek ER, participaron el lunes 15 de abril en los ejercicios de preparación para desastres a gran escala en sus instalaciones. Patrocinado por la Coalición Médica para Desastres de la Florida Central, los eventos se realizaron en colaboración con el personal de respuesta a emergencias y la aplicación de la ley e incluyeron a casi 100 estudiantes locales que se ofrecieron como voluntarios para actuar como víctimas. Con el objetivo de preparar a la comunidad para un incidente catastrófico, se simularon múltiples eventos de víctimas y/o ataques. Tracy R. Bilski, MD, Director Médico de Trauma en el Centro Médico Regional de Osceola, supervisó el equipo de trauma, que recibió hasta veinticinco

alertas de trauma durante el ejercicio de cuatro horas. “El simulacro no solo fortaleció las respuestas de nuestro personal en caso de una emergencia a gran escala, sino que también reforzó la colaboración del hospital con agencias ampliadas como policía, bomberos, EMS y la Oficina de Administración de Emergencias del Condado, que es parte importante de de una respuesta exitosa ", dijo Davide Carbone, CEO de Osceola Regional Medical Center. "Practicar la preparación es un entrenamiento crítico para nuestro equipo". Tanto el Centro Médico Regional de Osceola como el ER de Creek Creek permanecieron abiertos y en pleno funcionamiento durante los simulacros. As part of a full-scale emergency disaster drill, the Osceola Regional Medical Center team triages students volunteering as patients.

ORMC and Hunter’s Creek ER participate in disaster exercise trauma alerts during the four-hour Kissimmee, FL - Osceola Regional Medical Center (ORMC) and its freestanding emergency department, Hunter’s Creek ER, participated in full-scale disaster preparedness exercises at their facilities on Monday, April 15th. Sponsored by the Central Florida Disaster Medical Coalition, the events were in partnership with emergency response personnel and law enforcement, and included nearly 100 local students who volunteered to act as victims. With the goal of preparing the community for a catastrophic incident, the drills simulated multiple casualty events and/or attacks. Tracy R. Bilski, MD, Trauma Medical Director at Osceola Regional Medical Center, oversaw the trauma team – which received as many as twenty-five

exercise. “Not only did the drill strengthen our staff’s responses in the event of a large-scale emergency, it also reinforced the collaboration of the hospital with extended agencies such as police, fire, EMS and the County Office of Emergency Management, which is a key part of a successful response,” said Davide Carbone, CEO of Osceola Regional Medical Center. “Practicing preparedness is critical training for our team.” Both Osceola Regional Medical Center and Hunter’s Creek ER remained open and fully operational during the drills. Similar exercises were scheduled to take place at hospitals in Volusia, Seminole, Lake, Orange, Brevard, St. Lucie and Martin counties.

Washington – The Internal Revenue Service is reminding taxpayers who have yet to file their tax returns that there are a variety of options to help them. You can still get more time to file by submitting a request for an automatic extension of time to file. This will extend the deadline to file until Oct. 15, 2019. However, their tax payments are still due by the April due date. An easy way to get the extra time is through Free File on IRS.gov. In a matter of minutes, anyone, regardless of income, can use this free service to electronically request an extension on Form 4868. To get the extension, taxpayers must estimate their tax liability on this form. IRS tax help is available 24 hours a day on IRS.gov. Whether filing a tax return, requesting an extension or making a payment, the IRS website can help last-minute filers on just about everything related to taxes. The IRS encourages taxpayers to file electronically. Doing so, whether through e-file or IRS Free File, vastly reduces tax return errors as the tax software does the calculations, flags common errors and prompts taxpayers for missing information. Kissimmee Gateway Airport clasificado como aeropuerto “Nacional” por la FAA Kissimmee, FL La Ciudad de Kissimmee anunció que Kissimmee Gateway Airport alcanzó la clasificación ‘Nacional’ en aviación general otorgada por la Administración Federal de Aviación (FAA, por sus siglás en inglés). La FAA publicó su reporte del 2019 en el cual actualizó las categorías de los aeropuertos en el plan conocido como “National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS, por sus siglas en inglés). En el reporte, Kissimmee Gateway Airport fue actualizado a la más alta categoría, “Nacional” después de haber estado bajo la designación de regional. FAA classifies Kissimmee Gateway Airport “National” airport Kissimmee, FL - The City of Kissimmee announces that Kissimmee Gateway Airport achieves “National” Classification for General Aviation airports from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA released its 2019 report to Congress which updated the categories of airports in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS). In the report, Kissimmee Gateway Airport received an upgrade to the highest classification, National, up from the Regional designation. The upgrade occurred mainly because of the number of jet and multi-engine aircraft based at the airport as well as steadily increasing activity levels, and its proximity to Orlando International Airport. Kissimmee Gateway is designated as a reliever airport for Orlando International, accommodating corporate jets and other aircraft seeking an airport closer to the southwest section of the greater Orlando area.

Kissimmee Gateway Airport also hosts aviation activities, such as student pilot training. The airport can also accommodate up to Boeing 737 Business Jet aircraft, as well as Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft. The main runway has an FAA Category I precision approach (ILS) for all weather landings, and the Air Traffic Control Tower is staffed from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. According to the FAA report, there are nine airports in the State of Florida under the National category. Kissimmee is currently the only one in east Central Florida. Arresto por robo a mano armada Condado Osceola, FL - El 13 de abril de 2019, los detectives de la Unidad de Robos de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado Osceola, la Unidad de Pandillas y la Unidad de Policía Turística arrestaron a Jorge Luis Santiago-Collazo por su participación en tres robos a mano armada separados que ocurrieron a lo largo del corredor oeste de la 192. Jorge Santiago-Collazo estaba asechando a las víctimas a lo largo de la 192, bien sea en la parada de autobús o en negocios. Durante uno de los robos, Jorge estaba armado con un cuchillo y apuñaló a la víctima. La víctima del robo fue tratada y dada de alta del hospital con heridas que no amenazaban su vida. Armed robbery arrest Osceola County, FL - On April 13, 2019, detectives with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit, Gang Unit, and Tourist Policing Unit arrested Jorge Luis Santiago-Collazo for his involvement in three separated armed robberies which occurred along the West 192 corridor. Jorge Santiago-Collazo was targeting victims along 192, either while waiting at the bus stop or along businesses. During one of the robberies, Jorge was armed with a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim in the robbery was treated and released from the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. Through investigative techniques, Jorge was identified and later arrested in the area of Old Vineland Road and 192. Detectives were able to locate and identify items in Jorge’s possession to link him back to the reported robberies. Jorge is currently being held at the Osceola County Department of Corrections on a zero bond on armed robbery charges.

Armed robbery Osceola County, FL - On April 16, 2019, at approximately 6:00 A.M., Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Econolodge, located at 2934 Polynesian Isle Boulevard, Kissimmee in reference to an armed robbery. The victim advised a black male suspect, armed with a silver semi-automatic pistol, robbed the clerk of the hotel at gunpoint. The suspect ordered the victim to give him everything in the register and

got away with an undisclosed amount of currency. The suspect is described as a black male, slender-weighing about 140-150 pounds, approximately 23 to 25 years of age, between 5’6” and 5’8”, wearing a blue “hoodie” with the draw string pulled tight, black tight pants, black “slides” on his feet and a dark bandana over his mouth. The suspect left the business and headed south on Polynesian Isle Boulevard.

¡Belleza de Champions League! Cada uno de los cuatro semifinalistas de la Liga de Campeones, a su manera, nos transmiten la belleza del fútbol, y de este torneo en especial. Ya sea los grandes favoritos o los equipos sorpresa, estas semifinales serán exquisitas, con todos los ingredientes para escribir más historias épicas como las que vimos esta semana. Déjenme explicarles, uno por uno, porqué cada equipo que sigue vivo es tan especial. Liverpool Es casi imposible no enamorarte del Liverpool de Klopp. Un equipo que sabe encontrar talento “barato”, darles oportunidad a sus jóvenes, y que juega con el corazón en la mano. No tienen la suficiente profundidad (ni presupuesto) para pelear por la Premier y la Champions al mismo tiempo, y, sin embargo, a finales de Abril siguen con altas chances en ambos torneos.
