Global Update: NAR’s 2022 Profile of International Transactions in U.S. Residential Real Estate Report shows that foreign buyers purchased $59 billion worth of U.S. existing homes from April 2021 through March 2022, an 8.5% increase from the previous 12-month period and for the 14th straight year, Florida remained the top destination for foreign buyers, accounting for 24% of all international purchases. According to NAR`s Chief Economist Lawrence Yun, despite the rising interest rates, foreign buyers are likely to step up purchases, as those making all-cash offers will be immune from changes in interest rates. In addition, international flights have increased with the lifting of pandemic-related travel restrictions. So, if you are looking to jumpstart or grow your international business, take advantage of all the upcoming global events and educational programs that the Global Alliance Committee has organized for you.

Commercial Alliance Committee TERESA REILLY-O’DOHERTY COMMERCIAL ALLIANCE COMMMITTEE CHAIR The Commercial Alliance Committee recently had the opportunity to represent OSCAR members at the C5 Summit in New York. The C5 Summit symbolizes the five C’s in commercial real estate — Capital, Connect, Commerce, Community, and Commercial.

Attendees learned about the latest trends in the commercial industry and received up-to-date information on the commercial economic outlook. We were fortunate to hear from Dr. Lawrence Yun, the Chief Economist and Senior Vice President for Research for the National Association of Realtors®.

Dr. Yun creates NAR’s economic forecast and participates on many panels throughout the United States.

We encourage all commercial agents to plan to attend for 2023. We can assure you it is worth your time!
