Established in 1972 and now proudly trading as Daceys, we are Wales’ last remaining Orthotic House manufacturing a full range of bespoke orthoses under one roof.
From our origins as a small workshop supporting local people with disabilities in the community, Daceys has grown through three generations of family ownership rooted in compassion, craftsmanship, and continuous innovation.
Today, we are recognised as a trusted partner to the NHS and trade professionals, delivering high quality custom-made medical devices and orthotic services to hospitals and healthcare providers across the UK and Ireland.

Our Manufacturing
At our customised 30,000 sq ft facility in Cardi , a dedicated team of over 80 professionals including skilled orthotic technicians, CADCAM specialists, technical administrators, and healthcare experts work together to manufacture our custom orthoses with precision and care.
Sustainability is at the heart of our operations, with our factory powered by innovative solar panel technology installed on our rooftop.
We strive to blend clinical expertise, advanced process technology, and a proud tradition of Welsh craftsmanship to create high-quality

Since 1972, Daceys has been at the forefront of orthopaedic footwear manufacturing, combining decades of expertise with an obsession for quality, fit, and functionality. Our range includes bespoke, modular, and stock footwear, all handcrafted in Wales by our skilled production team.
Driven by innovation, we’ve evolved our production methods with advanced CADCAM technology, ensuring precision and style go hand in hand. Our footwear designs continue to adapt to modern fashion trends without compromising on orthopaedic integrity. This 6th edition catalogue highlights our latest design enhancements, all available to order using our convenient downloadable digital forms, compatible with draft, cast, or scan submissions.
Our Manufacturing Methodology
Footwear Selection
Select desired type of footwear required for patient; Bespoke, Modular or Stock.
Receive completed digital order form and accompanying footwear draft, cast or scan.
Making
Utilise standard last. Modify last with clip-on-shell. Manufacture custom last by hand. Alternatively digitise and lathe or 3D print.
Upper patterns compiled and cut by hand or digitised and cut with automated clicking press or CAD laser cutter.
Assembled by hand or machine lasted. Trial fitting footwear to be issued partially finished or as a 3D printed fitting shoe.
Final stages involving soling, heeling and polishing before final quality check for dispatch.
Bespoke
Our bespoke footwear is hand crafted entirely to individual specifi cation. Utilising a custom last our bespoke options are designed to accommodate even the most complex clinical requirements. Whether for severe deformities, post-surgical recovery, or long-term foot health management, our bespoke shoes o er unparalleled fi t, function, and comfort.
As a fast and convenient alternative to our stockmanufactured styles, our o -the-shelf footwear collection is available next working day. Featuring an extra-wide and deep fit, our exclusive branded options provide a reliable and cost-e ective firstphase solution for many patients.
Modular & Stock
Utilising six di erent last fittings, a full size range including half sizes, three toe shape options, multiple insole depth combinations, and the ability to adapt by building up localised areas, our stock and modular custom range truly provides a versatile solution to meet a wide variety of clinical and patient needs.

Our experienced team of Orthotic Technicians o er a comprehensive repair and adaption service for both Daceys-manufactured footwear and customers’ own shoes. From adding raises, floats, and rocker soles to adjusting straps, uppers, and fastening systems, we ensure each modification meets clinical needs while maintaining comfort and aesthetics.
Raises
A variety of raises are available in many di erent materials and colours. An extensive range of coloured leather is kept in stock to match patients existing footwear wherever possible.
Repairs
All bespoke, modular and most stock footwear can be repaired as required in line with specified requirements. We will match the original materials used wherever possible. We reserve the right to refuse a repair order when associated costs are not commercially viable. In such instances a request for replacement footwear will be issued.
Other Adaptions
Metal/strap adaptions to footwear to accommodate other orthoses such as K.A.F.O’s and below knee orthoses are also available.

BESPOKE OPTION: Any footwear falling outside of accepted modular parameters will be classed as bespoke footwear and made to your custom specification detailed in the New Bespoke Footwear Order Form.
REPEAT OPTION: Any footwear option can be repeat ordered provided there are no revisions other than finish, colour or sole unit option. A limited selection of styles from earlier catalogue editions can be manufactured upon request.
How To Measure Foot Length & Circ For FitVille™
Ensuring your patient is wearing socks, place their foot on a sheet of paper and trace an outline with a pencil or pen.
LENGTH: Measure the distance as illustrated above with a ruler using cm/mm. Make sure you add 5-10mm of wiggle room so the shoes are not too tight. Check size guide above for the appropriate shoe size.
CIRCUMFERENCE: Using a measuring tape, measure the circ of the widest part the patient’s foot as illustrated above. Check size guide above for the appropriate shoe width.
