FRIENDS & COLLEAGUES Dear friends and colleagues, Our FORESTADENT Symposium looks back over a long history. For the XI Symposium, we thought long and hard about the perfect venue. We went looking for somewhere with a strong sense of tradition and history – and we certainly found it in a city boasting almost 3000 years of art, architecture and culture: Rome – the Eternal City.

You can expect three days of fascinating discussions with colleagues and experts, who are eager to share their knowledge with you.

The choice of venue is captured in the tagline "The Classic Edition" – Rome being one of the classic cities of Europe – and reflects all the traditions we feel a strong sense of connection to.

We have chosen a convention center and other extraordinary venues that we are confident will make the XI Symposium a truly unique event.

THE ETERNAL CITY

ROM

It was the writer Tibullus who first christened Rome "the Eternal City" in the 1st century BC. The nickname refers to Rome's ability to seemingly transcend time and space. Over the centuries, the description has grown to become the city's official name of honor.

Legend has it that Rome was founded in 753 BC by twin brothers Romulus and Remus.

They were the offspring of the god Mars and the Priestess Rhea Silvia. Frightened that the twins would contest him for his throne, their Great Uncle Amulius had them abandoned on the banks of the Tiber river. There, they were found by a she-wolf who suckled them. Later, a swineherd discovered the boys and continued to raise them. In later life, Romulus and Remus wanted to establish a city at the site where they were found. Following a fight, Romulus killed Remus, and so the new city came to be named after Romulus.

Rome was in fact founded over the course of several centuries, starting around 800 BC, and was made up of the surrounding villages on the seven hills of Palatine, Capitoline, Aventine, Esquiline, Quirinal, Viminal and Caelian. Today, the city is home to some three million residents.

The Colosseum, St Peter's Square and the Spanish Steps: Rome has many alluring sights to its name. Around every corner, you are met by magnificent buildings, verdant parks,luxurious shopping boulevards and high-class restaurants.

The Eternal City tells stories of millennia gone by and yet still remains ever modern.

AUDITORIUM DELLA TECNICA ROM

Space also plays an important role in the interior of the Auditorium della Tecnica: the sophisticated creation of architect Pier Luigi Spadolini perfectly complements the building designed by architect Edoardo Monaco, and has been described as "architecture within architecture".

As soon as you cross the threshold, you are met by a combination of innovation and contemporary structures,technological innovations and artistic and functional lines; all this was improved further still during the congress center's redesign between 2015 and 2016. As such, the building has played a key role in the conference industry, playing host to major national and international events.

In Eur, Rome's famous business district, there is a venue where space and technology combine to give physical form to ideas and transform these into unforgettable experiences: namely, the Auditorium della Tecnica, the Congress Center of Confindustria.

MCLAUGHLIN BENNETT 5.0 DAY OCTOBER 5TH, 2023 in the Auditorium della Tecnica More than 25 years have passed since orthodontists Dr. Richard P. McLaughlin, Dr. John C. Bennett, and Dr. Hugo Trevisi presentedtheir McLaughlin/Bennett/Trevisi system to the international community of experts at the annual conference of the the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) in 1997.

After intensively studying the straight-wire technology launched by Lawrence F. Andrews and using it in their research since 1975, this system that they introduced represented an integrated concept based on their decades of experience. Based on the treatment philosophy developed by them, this concept includes a full range of standard brackets, precise details of where to place these brackets on the tooth, and detailed information about arch form and force levels. All of this is backed up by the two textbooks that have been published to date (1993 and 1997), in which the authors give clinical tips and recommendations.

As time went on, the McLaughlin/Bennett/Trevisi technology became the most widely used treatment method among orthodontists all over the world, and was continuously developedand optimized over the years with the aim of creating an "ideal" system.

VILLA MIANI The Villa Miani was built for the Count Miani in 1837. Situated on the hill of Monte Mario, it was originally the residence of a noble Venetian family. Until the early 20th century, it served as an exclusive country manor. Nestled within an extensive, secluded park of lush greenery, the villa is set back from the hustle and bustle of Rome.

It provides a breathtaking view over the city and the nearby St. Peter's Basilica. The lovingly restored stately home, with its opulent private rooms, terrace, garden and show-stopping banqueting halls, has long been the site of many important events. It offers the perfect blend of history and elegance in the neo-classical style, making it the perfect venue for the gala night.

The gala night is included in the booking package for participants and their registered accompanying guest(s).

We will be providing a shuttle service for this event.

PARTY

LA LANTERNA La Lanterna is a venue in an exclusive setting in Rome.

It is situated on the 4th floor of the former building of the military union at 157 Via Tomacelli. The magnificent terrace provides exquisite views over the cupolas of the Basilica dei Santi Ambrogio e Carlo al Corso. The standout feature is the glass and steel structure by architect MassimilianoFuksas, which makes it a distinctive landmark on the Rome skyline.

Its modern and characteristic lines add a modern flourish to the city center: A pearl of modernity enveloped in history and ancient architecture.

La Lanterna – not far from the Piazza di Spagna – is an easy walk from the city center.

We round off the Symposium with a relaxed evening of cocktails, finger food and lounge music.

SIGHTSEEING ITINERARY

Palazzo Rospigliosi | Casino dell’Aurora October 6th, 2023 Meeting point for the tour is the central train station (Stazione Termini). Follow the guide on this walking tour through parts of Rome's historic city center to the Palazzo Rospigliosi/Casino dell’Aurora. The palace complex is home to one of Rome's largest art collections and is ordinarily closed to visitors with rare exceptions. The highlight of the day is a tour of this prestigious art collection – not to mention the impressivesetting and the view of the palace grounds. The tour then continues on foot to the Spanish Steps. Enjoylunch as a group a short distance from the Piazza Spagna before returning to Stazione Termini.

Castel Gandolfo October 7th, 2023

Meeting point for this day trip is the central train station (Stazione Termini). Castel Gandolfo, situated some 25 km outside Rome in the picturesque rolling landscape of the Alban Hills, is the summer residence of the pope. The group will have the chance to see the residence and its gardens. This will be followed by a visit to a vineyard in the local region. After a wine tasting, the trip is rounded off with lunch together. The group will then be back in Rome in time for the party.
