To make the puzzle, cut out the page and laminate - OR - cut out the page, glue and seal it onto a piece of cardboard using Mod Podge; let dry. Cut into pieces at the marked lines.

How to play

Each child uses their own game board. The cards are mixed up and stacked face-down in the middle. Each child takes turns picking up a card. If the card shows a fasting food, then the child places it on the board. If it shows a non-fasting food, then the child places it on the bottom of the pile. The child to first fill up their board is the winner.

What to do: The child cuts small pieces out of the streamer and crumples them up into tiny balls. S/he then gets to glue the balls on the pictured prayer rope.

WHAT TYPES OF PRAYER ARE THERE? Cut out the cards, laminate, and use them to play a Memory game, matching the pictures on this page to their descriptions on the next page. Alternatively, make a booklet to use as a guide at prayer time: Punch a whole at the corner of each card and bind them together using a loose-leaf binder ring or a piece of ribbon.

SPOON LADY LENT INSTRUCTIONS To help the children understand Great Lent in practice, we created a special project. A wooden spoon and the printable templates found on our webpage “Great Lent the Holy” are used to make a Spoon Lady Lent.

Spoon Lady Lent has a pocket, into which round tokens are placed. Each token mentions a special task the child can do at home during one Great Lent week. The goal is for all the tokens to be used by the end of each week, so they can be replaced with new ones at the start of the next one.
