In all the time known to me never coloured her hair. In many ways it defined her, she wore it plain and simple.

When we’d meet, was always cheerful and interested in what was happening, telling funny stories or singing a song. Once she did a jig upon the road, recalling summer dances.

There were those who thought her innocent, said that life did not fare well. She never seemed to notice, if did, it was hard to tell.

Children came alive around her, a rebel who fought for a cause; their Caitlin, Acushla , Little Darling,* good fun is what she was!
