1. What was your first position in this industry and how did you get there?
I started at Transamerica Finance as an assistant manager. Writing 15-18% mortgage loans the first half of the month and driving around town doing collections for payments the other half of the month. Not the safest job in the world...
2. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Sky Dive 3.What’s the best way to start the day? Hit the snooze button 4.What Movie title best describes your life? The Godfather 5. What’s the best way a person can spend their time? Enjoying quality time their animals if they have any... 6. What are you looking forward to in the coming months? No snow... warm weather 7. Where would you spend all your time if you could? On an Island relaxing 8. What do you wish you knew more about? Financial trading 9. Who inspires you to be better? My son and wife 10. What’s the best and worst piece of advice you’ve ever received? Best advice: don't believe everything you hear... learn for yourself. Worst advice: Don't worry, we won't get caught... 11. What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned? The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Learn to appreciate what you have right in front of you and make the best out of it. 12. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time and why? Read. There is so much information and so little time to take it all in and learn something new. 13. What would be the most amazing adventure to go on? There is a real treasure buried out in the rockies called Fenns Treasure. I would love the opportunity to try to work out the puzzles he set forth online regarding the "Thrill of the Chase" and try to map out and search for it. There is supposed to be Millions in jewels and such just waiting out there for someone to find. 14. Whats your favorite thing about your team here at Orion? The camaraderie. Everyone is here to make the company better and it shows every time you have a conversation or interaction with another member of the team. All for one and one for all.

1. What was your first position in this industry and how did you get there? Loan set-up specialist. My friend, who was an underwriter at my former company, convinced me I should look into mortgage and apply for the position. 2. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Adopt a pet dog and you'll know what unconditional love means! Cats though...maybe not as much. 3.What’s the best way to start the day? A bowl of pho! 4.What Movie title best describes your life? The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 5. What’s the best way a person can spend their time? A week of digital diet - no social media, just off the grid, visit a new place and just talk to people (in person). 6. What are you looking forward to in the coming months? Christmas. Yep, already started making my list, it's never too early. 7. Where would you spend all your time if you could? My Happy Place :) 8. What do you wish you knew more about? Religion 9. Who inspires you to be better? My parents - I don't think I can ever fathom all the sacrifices they went through to support their children until I become a parent myself. 10. What’s the best and worst piece of advice you’ve ever received? Best: "Every winner was once a beginner" - I think I might have heard this from my gym teacher back in high school when he tried to motivate us to finish our runs. Worst: "Kill them with kindness" - It's not a bad advice but it is something I have difficulty adhering to. 11. What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned? Opening up myself to others - I think I grew up as a hermit and being closed off just feels much more comfortable. Even simple tasks like paying the cashier at the register gave me anxiety to make eye contact (10 years ago) but breaking out of that comfort zone was much needed, otherwise, I would have never left my house! Hehe
12. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time and why? To be fluent in another foreign language - I like watching foreign movies and those subtitles sure run by quick! 13. What would be the most amazing adventure to go on? Backpacking through Asia -- So much interesting foods there. I'd channel my inner Tony Bourdain spirit and eat my way through Asia. 14. Whats your favorite thing about your team here at Orion? My Orion crew!! I sit in this corner at the office that rarely gets visitors but my neighbors from the adjacent cubes sure keep things interesting around here ;)
