Personally, I have always been passionate about natural products, wellbeing, and beauty. Many years ago, when I saw firsthand how harsh chemical products were harming hairdressers and their clients, I knew there had to be another way- a better, cleaner way- and that’s how O&M was born.
At the time, I didn’t realise just how pioneering the technology, or the concept was. Looking back, I see it now as ground-breaking to have created the first ammonia-free hair salon in Australia, taking a holistic, health-focused approach to haircare. In 2010, after success with our original approach in salon, we decided to take the O&M vision even further and create the haircare and styling line.
I’m proud to say that the products we innovated have a Free From Five formulation high performance haircare with a natural focus on native Australian ingredients such as Lilly Pilly, Banksia Flower, Quandong, Tasmanian Sea Kelp and Davidson Plum. We are certified
by PETA as Vegan and Cruelty Free and are evolving our packaging to be made of PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) materials as we continue our sustainability journey. For these reasons, it gives me great pride to see the O&M retail line sitting on the top shelves of salons and retailers around the world.
Three years later, in 2013, I continued to push our brand vision forward. We did the seemingly impossible when we developed Clean Colour Technology (CCT) our permanent professional hair colour with zero ammonia, PPD or resorcinol. It was a game changer that performed beyond all expectations, with no toxic fumes or harmful sideeffects.
Now our third-generation of hair colour, using world leading Molecular Blend Technology (MBT) is the formulation we know and love today as O&M CØR.color, which sits at the very heart of the brand- colour is our pulse.

Here are some of the “everyday” chemicals we’ve left out of our haircare and styling products.
PHTHALATES
Cling to the hair to give it fragrance and also gives hair product such as gels more staying power. Exposure to phthalates in pregnant women can cause harm during critical periods of a child’s development.
SULFATES (SLS/SLES)
Are used to clean the hair of its natural oils leaving the hair feeling dry and looking matte. Denatures skin proteins and largely affects people with contact dermatitis.
PARABENS
Have antifungal and antibacterial properties that act as a preservative for maintaining freshness and longer product shelf life. One of the leading chemicals that can cause skin irritation and contact dermatitis.
PROPYLENE GLYCOL
Used to bind many haircare products together and retain moisture content not only on the hair but also in packaging. Propylene glycol has been linked to causing headaches, backaches and kidney problems.
M.I.T.
Methylisothiazolinone prevents bacteria. Due to the high exposure to the scalp through haircare, MIT in hair products greatly damages skin cells, causing itching, flaking and soreness on the scalp.
TRICLOSAN
Is another chemical that is used to kill bacteria on the hair. Triclosan’s manufacturing process can also create dioxin, a powerful hormone disrupter that can have long term health effects.

THE PERFECT KIND OF CURL
As no two curls are created the same we’ve created a range that can be used on wavy, curly and coily hair. This will work with your natural hair pattern and can also enhance your natural curl pattern. The correct routine creates beautiful texture.
STEP ONE CLEANSE
The first step is to shampoo and massage the product into your scalp to remove any build-up.
STEP TWO CONDITION
Scrunch conditioner through hair until the hair is fully saturated and has a smooth slip. Detangle with your fingers or comb, rinse out most(but not all!) of the product.
STEP THREE STYLE
Apply Curl Curl Cream to hydrate and define curls into wet hair from roots to ends – scrunch or use a widetoothed comb to distribute.
Apply Curl Curl Gel to shape and define curls, scrunch through. Allow to dry or diffuse.
To revive, reset and hydrate your curls between shampoos use Curl Curl Spray which will also control frizz.

WHAT’S POWERING IT CAMELINA OIL
From the Camelina flowering plant, this oil will hydrate, condition and protect the hair from aging with its antioxidant content without the oiliness. Hair will be left with a featherlike softness thanks to its high Omega 3 essential fatty acids content.
BERGAMOT PEEL OIL
Extracted from the rind of bergamot orange, its conditioning properties help smooth the hair cuticle, reducing frizz and adding shine.
BACK OF HEAD
NAPE BONE SIDES OF HEAD
• Using your fingertips, massage, starting with your hands positioned one at the nape bone and one at the front of the head.
• Move in a circular motion. Repeat this eight times (8 x).
• Change your hands and place on either side of the head.
• Repeat this eight times (8 x).
• Glide down to the back of the nape bone, using index finger apply pressure all the way up to the front of the head.
• Apply pressure to 6 points, using your thumbs down the front of the hairline to the temples. Repeat this eight times (8 x).
• From temple apply 3 pressure points through the auriculas, using your index fingers then pull up on the nape bone for five seconds. Then massage the trapezius area six to eight times (6-8 x).
• Place fingertips on to the scalp and massage in a circular motion starting at the back of the head and moving all over the head. Repeat this eight times (8 x).
BACK OF HEAD
• Starting at “prayer position” glide hands down forehead eight times (8 x).
• Start at temples and massage in circular motions using index fingers. Repeat this eight times (8 x).
