After many dark, hopeless days, years of infertility, and a failed embryo adoption transfer, baby Liam, who was a twin, was born at 29 weeks and spent 50 days in the NICU. Kate, with her husband Jason by her side, took a serious trial and turned it into an opportunity to bless the lives of others. Out of her trials, “Lockets in Liam’s Name” was born.

Each year, Kate rallies families and friends to contribute Living Lockets® to give to NICU mothers who are either experiencing loss or struggles. In the middle of heartache, despair, and darkness, the Lockets bring hope, love, and light to these moms.

After hearing about other suicides in our community, I knew I had to do something. A group of other moms and I coordinated a massive town hall on suicide prevention. More than 425 people attended. We gifted Living Lockets® to mothers in our community who had lost their children to suicide. Together, we’re on a mission to stop suicide. We’ve saved lives by raising awareness. We don’t want any other parent to suffer the hurt of losing a child to suicide. I’m so grateful that, because of Origami Owl, I can bring healing to these families.”
