As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic, life in the United States and around the world has become very challenging, to say the least. The pandemic has disrupted business, education, sports and family gatherings. It has also created many hardships for worship services, including CME Churches. As Galatians 6:9 reads, "Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Lane Chapel CME Church in Lewisville, Texas, has persevered and maintained its faith during these unprecedented times. Lane Chapel made the mandated shift to teleconference service in March 2020. Due to the leadership of Rev. Lionel G. Hayes, Jr. and the dedication of faithful members and extended family, Lane Chapel has continued to thrive both spiritually and financially. Sunday School service is still very active, while the virtual Morning Worship service has grown with several "out of town" participants regularly attending each Sunday. Lane Chapel continues weekly Bible study and outreach programs which support the Lewisville community. In addition to spiritual growth, Lane Chapel completed a major renovation project. This project included repairing/ painting the entire church exterior and redoing church landscaping. This project was completed and paid in full. When the doors of the church are open again, Lane Chapel CME Church in Lewisville, Texas, will welcome all members and guests with a new and improved look, while exhibiting the same warmth we have always displayed in our motto - "The Little Church with a Big Heart."
