I invite you to also check out the many exciting opportunities you will find within the pages of this activity guide. I promise there is something for all ages. All programs will continue to be offered in a safe manner in accordance with all IDPH and CDC guidelines. Many of our seasonal events may look different in the coming months, but we are committed to continuing to provide family favorites and making adjustments as necessary. SIBLING DISCOUNT *FOR SELECT PROGRAMS The Oregon Park District offers a sibling discount of 10% for select programs for each additional child enrolled in a program where one child has already enrolled at full price in the same session. Registration for all siblings must take place at Nash or by phone at the same time in order to receive the discount, if applicable. All family members must be in the same account to qualify.

OPD FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The Oregon Park District provides financial assistance in several forms to help families or individuals that are in financial difficulty with program fees, preschool tuition, Extended Time program and Camp Oh-Pea-Dee. Funds are provided through employee-driven fundraising and generous donations through the A. Charles and Lillemor Lawrence Foundation. Applications are available online and at Nash Recreation Center, 304 S. 5th Street, Oregon. For more information or questions contact Alyssa at alyssa@oregonpark. org. Funds are available for anyone residing within the Oregon School District boundaries.

RESIDENCY

MT. MORRIS VILLAGE RESIDENTS Mt. Morris Village residents can register for all programs, memberships, facility rentals and daily fees at the Oregon Park District resident rate. Additional non-resident fees are subsidized by the Village of Mt. Morris.

CLASS CHANGES The Oregon Park District may cancel, postpone, combine classes, or change instructors. Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment and refunds will be issued. All participants will be notified of any scheduling changes or cancellations.

LOCKERS Shared locker room space is currently limited to registered participants of the pool. Annual locker rentals are currently unavailable.

Fees must be paid at the time of registration by cash, check, or credit card. The first fee listed is the rate for Oregon Park District residents. The second fee is for non-residents. No registrations or rentals will be accepted without the proper payment.

3 PAY PAYMENT PLAN Your annual pass is paid off in three equal consecutive payments! The pass fee is paid for the first three months, and is only available on annual passes.

AUTOMATIC MONTHLY PAYMENT This is a convenient way to pay for your pass and select programs. The automatic debit monthly fees are shown below. With your permission, automatic credit card charges will be made each month. The first amount is the initial payment that will be made when registering, followed by the amount of 11 equal payments charged each month.

SILVERSNEAKERS & RENEW ACTIVE The Oregon Park District is an approved SilverSneakers and Renew Active location. If you are unsure if you are a member or do not have a membership ID, the front counter staff at Nash can assist in determining your eligibility.

ID is required for proof of residency or a non-resident fee will be charged. A resident is an individual living in or owning real estate within the boundaries of the Oregon Park District. All Oregon School District students participating in youth team sports are considered residents. If registering online, residency must be approved. See page 6.

Save Time, Stay Safe, & Register Online! The Oregon Park District is currently encouraging our community to register online for the safety of our staff and patrons during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Luckily, the District is able to offer a simple and efficient online registration system for you and your family using our online registration system, Perfect Mind. With Perfect Mind, users can update account information, register for an activity of event, or reserve their time slot for Nash Recreation Center’s fitness center, TRX room, pool or gymnasium from anywhere with an internet connection. If you are new to the Oregon Park District, you can create an account in a few short steps! Already have an account with your primary email address? Please make sure to select ‘Forgot your password’ to re-establish your account. Once you’re in, you can update your household information, payment information, sign up for programs and activities, and reserve an upcoming time slot at Nash Recreation Center.

While the District strives to make your online experience one of the best, please note there are a few account features that are not available online. •

All patrons that create their own account will be flagged as a Non-Resident. If you live within the District boundaries and are a Resident, please call Nash Recreation Center at (815) 732-3101 so our Customer Service team can update your account. Once updated, resident rates will be applied for all future online registrations and reservations. Discounts are not available through Online Registration. If you wish to take advantage of our Sibling Discount, please register over the phone or at Nash Recreation Center. Membership renewals and purchases are currently not offered online. WAIVER POLICY

Nash Recreation Center is currently open to members only due to capacity limits imposed by IDPH. The District will continue to monitor the restrictions and facility usage and determine if we will re-open to all users or continue to restrict use to members.

The Oregon Park District requires all class participants and pass holders to sign a waiver release form. Waivers will be signed and kept on file at Nash Recreation Center. Your registration is not considered complete until a signed waiver is on file. All members are required to complete an updated facility waiver upon registration.

AGE RESTRICTIONS Members must be 7th grade or older to participate during Lap Swim and use the Fitness Center. Members 12 or older may use the gymnasium & racquetball court. Members must be 18 years old to use the TRX Room.

NASH FITNESS CENTER The Nash Fitness Center is over 6,000 square feet and features a three lane rubberized track that surrounds our CYBEX strength training machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Reservations are required for use of the fitness center.

TRX ROOM A new addition to the facility includes our TRX room featuring 800 square feet of alternative fitness equipment. Room features 6 TRX stations, kettlebells, weighted ropes, yoga mats, dumbells, tire flip, punching bag, spin bikes, rower, elliptical, air assault treadmill and stairmill. Reservations are required for use of the TRX Room.

RACQUETBALL The racquetball court is open for reservations. Must be 12 years of age or older and have a valid membership. Free for annual members and only $1.50 for all other members. Face masks must be worn during play. Reservations are required.

POOL The pool is open for lap swim and water aerobics only. See page 9 for the full pool schedule. Reservations are required.

GYMNASIUM The gymnasium is currently closed for Open Gym and is limited to scheduled activities. See page 8 for the full gymnasium schedule. Reservations are required.

MEMBERSHIP REFUNDS Existing passholders that find the limited facility scheduling cannot accommodate their needs can request a prorated refund online at https://www.oregonpark.org/covid-19-pass-refund-request/. Members can call (815)732-3101 with any questions.

PROGRAM REFUNDS *A full refund will be issued if the Park District reschedules/cancels a class. *To withdraw from a program, a refund application must be completed by visiting our website and submitting a request. *An administrative fee of $5 shall be deducted from the amount of a refund to offset the cost of processing the refund. A full refund, less the fee, will be granted if the application for refund is filed with the office prior to the registration deadline. *Refunds will not be granted after the deadline. *All program refunds are subject to the program coordinator's approval.

If the program participant exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, as set out by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, or has come in direct recent contact with an individual exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and is unable to participate in the program, a full refund will be returned for the registration. Deep Water Aerobics is a more intense workout than your typical water aerobics class. Working out in the deep end will allow you to get a cardiovascular workout without the impact. You will also increase your endurance, flexibility and strength. Participants do not need to know how to swim. An aqua jogger belt will be provided.

Passes are required for Water Aerobics, Deep Water Aerobics, & Twinges and are valid for 1 year from date of purchase. No drop ins are allowed, and reservations are required.

Catch the Wave Swim Club structures the program to provide much more than just swimming lessons. Our curriculum, teacher training, evaluation system, and parent communication are all designed to provide a total Aquatic Education. Our primary technique to achieve water safety is to teach all students to comfortably live in the water. When a student truly learns to live in the water, the strokes come easily. We find that when a child enjoys the lessons, the more successful the learning process is. Therefore, our priority is to create a happy atmosphere.

All class stations will be placed a minimum of 6 feet from one another to allow for social distancing. Stations will be sanitized prior to class and after class.

If you don’t feel good or have a fever, STAY HOME. A refund will be issued for the class or the project from the class will be made available to you.

PICKLEBALL INDOOR TOURNAMENT

Pickleball is often described as a mixture of ping-pong, tennis, and badminton, all played on a mini tennis court with an oversized paddle and a ball similar to a wiffle ball. This game is fast, fun, and addictive. Reservations are required and each hour reservation is limited to adults, 4 participants per court. Paddles and pickleballs must be checked out from the Front Counter to make sure that all materials have been properly disinfected. *No Pickleball Open Gym 1/5 & 1/12

Come and play in our Pickleball Tournament! This tournament will be a round robin style. Teams will be made up of male, female, or co-ed, and you will have a new partner each round. Players need not sign up as a team, and this round robin style is designed to even the playing field for all! Nash does have a limited number of paddles that are available to play with.

Girls 6th Grade Basketball MARCH 1 - MARCH 26 | DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 12

Your child will learn the very basics of baseball in this introductory program, offered by OHS Coach Nate Girton and his baseball players. A parent/adult will be required to attend each evening and may be asked to assist their child throughout the program. Each week, children will learn a new skill and develop previously learned skills. Catching, running, batting, and safety will be taught. Only the first 14 participants will be accepted for each time slot. Each child will receive a t-shirt. All proceeds to benefit OHS Baseball program. Little Baseball Stars will be held at the t-ball field located to the west of the Oregon Elementary School.

This competitive league elevates the expectation of both the players and the coaches. Games are scheduled by the Oregon School District and will replacate the 7th and 8th grade schedule. All home games will be played at Nash. Transportation to away games will be provided by OCUSD. All government guidelines will be followed for Covid-19. A volunteer coach is needed for this league. Join Oregon Hawks Volleyball Coach Farrell Cain, her coaching staff and the OHS Lady Hawks for a week of basic techniques, skill building and intra-team scrimmages. This week-long camp will either introduce your child to the sport of volleyball or build on their skills. Each player will receive an OHS Lady Hawks team shirt. Players will be divided by age levels. Younger players will learn the basics of volleyball at their level with an age appropriate net. All CDC guidelines will be followed to ensure your child's safety. Camp will be held at Nash Recreation and temperatures will be taken at arrival. Parents are allowed to accompany their children to the gymnasium but then must leave to adhere to capacity limits. Masks will be required and requirement will be reviewed prior to camp to follow CDC guidelines. Pick-up will be at the northeast gym door exit. 100% of the proceeds from camp benefit the OHS Volleyball Team.

Children's Center The Oregon Park District Children’s Center program is designed to help prepare your child for kindergarten. Children will learn both indoors and outdoors utilizing both of our classrooms. Mrs. Crandall and Mrs. Teresa have developed a curriculum to assist your child’s social and emotional development as well as providing kindergarten readiness skills. Drop-off and pick-up will occur at our Children’s Center entrance located at School Street and South 6th Street. This location allows for you to drop your child off at the entrance from your car directly to our teachers. This procedure, enacted during COVID, has been successful and will continue in the 2021-22 school year. Our students and staff are able to be independent from Nash Recreation Center with their own kitchen, bathroom and both indoor and outdoor classrooms. The separation has allowed for easier transitions at drop-off and much less contact than entering through the traditional Nash Recreation Center entrance. Pick-up will allow parents to park on School and 6th Street and enter our back patio for dismissal.

he Oregon Park District is proud of our Inclusion Program that officially kicked off in February 2018. Inclusion within the Oregon Park District means individuals with special needs are blended into the same recreation programs and activities as their peers. The Oregon Park District will work with you to provide reasonable accommodations to enable the participant’s successful involvement in a program. Using our past experiences, we have taken the time to create internal procedures to include a chain of command and training by Ogle County Educational Cooperative for our staff. This allows staff to be better equipped to work alongside a wide array of individuals with special needs allowing a better experience in our programs. In 2017, the Oregon Park District took a more conscious approach to accommodate these needs in two of our programs. The swimming lesson program implemented the Angelfish program through the Starfish Aquatics Institute. Instructors completed and were certified through additional courses. The aquatics department successfully accommodated five swimmers into group lessons this past year and had several returning for multiple sessions. In the summer, Camp Oh-Pea-Dee served a handful of new campers with the accommodation of a companion. In 2017, Katie Shea, a camp parent, had a child in Camp Oh-Pea-Dee with special needs. Below she shares some thoughts on her experiences. “My son loved Camp Oh-Pea-Dee. Having a place to play and interact with peers made a big difference in his summer. Our whole family benefitted from the experience. I don’t know what we would have done without it. I know that it is not always easy to be inclusive, but I believe that all children benefit from being exposed to others with differing abilities. We were so pleased to hear reports from his companion that other children asked about

him and missed him when he wasn’t there. You can imagine how great this made us feel. Thank you so much for your willingness to work with us! Until I became a parent of a child with special needs, I never considered the challenges of finding childcare and social activities. It is hard. There really isn’t an understanding of the widespread benefits of inclusion for all kids. It’s not just about childcare. It’s about friends and interacting with the community. I know these are not easy issues and my beliefs about inclusion have certainly not always been as strong as they are now. I just want to assure you again this is valuable work that you are doing making inclusion a priority. Perhaps your program could serve as a model for others someday. There is such a great need.” The Oregon Park District provides year-round programs for patrons with and without disabilities that focus on skill development, independence, socialization, sense of enjoyment and self-awareness. Inclusion services are offered to create an opportunity for people with special needs to participate in the least restrictive environment and be included in all Park District programs. Inclusion allows the participant to participate in any Park District program with the support of an inclusion companion or other accommodations. Through a comprehensive approach, the Oregon Park District is confident that we can better serve individuals with special needs in any of our Park District programs. At the time of registration, the participant or guardian simply checks the box indicating a need for a special accommodation. An employee will then contact the participant or guardian to discuss further details to provide the best choice to allow the individual to be successful. Officially opened in July 2012, Wiggly Field Dog Park is the first off-leash dog park operated by the Oregon Park District. The dog park is a 1 acre fenced off-leash area with two separate entrances and exits for safety. The first area is an open running area and the second is an agility training area. The park offers water fountains for people and dogs. Wiggly Field off-leash dog park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Agility equipment will be removed during the winter months and brought back in the spring. We ask all owners to have fun, but be responsible. All users and dogs must have a permit. To renew your current dog park permit or purchase a new one, plesae call Nash Recreation Center (815)732-3101. Proof of rabies vaccination is required upon registering. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Park District offers a free blood pressure and heart rate monitor in our Fitness Center. It is a fully automatic self-attended monitor. Be heart-healthy and happy! Know your blood pressure!

The Oregon Park District believes that every child should have an opportunity to participate in recreational programs regardless of financial hardship. The Oregon Park District offers scholarships to all OCUSD students for reduced program rates according to financial need. Application forms are available at Nash Recreation Center or online at www.oregonpark. org. Applicants for scholarships are not guaranteed program registration or choice of program location. Scholarship fund availability cannot be guaranteed.

LOST & FOUND Lost and found articles are kept a maximum of 30 days and then donated to charitable organizations. If you think you or a family member may have lost something in one of our parks or facilities, please call or visit Nash Recreation Center.

PHOTO POLICY The Oregon Park District and/or professional photographers under contract may videotape or take photographs of participants in Park District activities, classes, programs, or parks. These photographs and videotapes are used for future recreation guides, brochures, Facebook and other marketing materials.

MEMORIAL TREE Donate a tree in memory of a loved one. You can choose the type of tree and park location. Contact the Park District for more information about this program.

NIGHT FISHING PERMITS You can now fish at night in Oregon Park District parks by purchasing a required Night Fishing Permit. To purchase a permit, please call Nash Recreation Center (815)732-3101. Permits are $20.00 and are valid through the end of the calendar year.

MILITARY POLICY Military home on active duty, their resident family members during military tours and wounded warriors will have access to Nash Recreation Center at no charge. Proof of military status must be provided. In addition, Wounded Warriors must provide documentation of their status as a veteran disabled during service.
