Monthly Billing

Sibling Discount
The Oregon Park District now offers a sibling discount of 10% off the regular fee for each additional child enrolled in a program where one child has already enrolled at full price in the same session. The discount can only be applied by registering at Nash or over the phone.

Activity Guide Release
The Oregon Park District issues two digital guides per year in February and August. You can find the full Oregon Park District Activity Guide on the District’s website at www.oregonpark.org.
Since 2008, the Oregon Park District has been recognized as an Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association Distinguished Accredited Agency, the highest award a Parks and Recreation Agency can receive in Illinois.

Spring/Summer Registration begins Feb 28 Annual Pass Holders
Annual pass holders will be allowed to register on Thursday, February 27. Resident annual pass holders will begin registration at 7:00 am and non-resident annual pass holders will follow at 9:00 am. Registration on February 27 can only be submitted by members of your immediate family.
Non-Annual Pass Holders
Registration for non-annual pass holders will begin on Friday, February 28. Residents will begin at 7:00 am, followed by non-residents at 9:00 am.
Residency
ID is required for proof of residency or a nonresident fee will be charged. A resident is an individual living in or owning real estate within the boundaries of the Oregon Park District. All Oregon School District students participating in youth team sports are considered residents.
Fees
Fees must be paid at the time of registration by cash, check, or credit card. The first fee listed is the rate for Oregon Park District residents. The second fee is for non-residents. No registrations or rentals will be accepted without the proper payment.
Registration
Class Changes
The Oregon Park District may cancel, postpone, combine classes, or change instructors. Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment and refunds will be issued. All participants will be notified of any scheduling changes or cancellations.
Waiver Policy
The Oregon Park District requires all class participants and pass holders to sign a waiver release form. Waivers will be signed and kept on file at Nash Recreation Center. Your registration is not considered complete until a signed waiver is on file.

The Oregon Park District website includes information about programs and classes, parks, facilities, employment opportunities, and more. Visit us online for updates. Program Refund Policy - A full refund will be issued if the Park District reschedules or cancels a class. - To withdraw from a program, a refund application must be completed. - An administrative fee of $5.00 shall be deducted from the amount of a refund to offset the cost of processing the refund. A full refund, less the fee, will be granted if the application for refund is filed with the office at least ten days prior to the scheduled start of the program/activity. - Refunds will not be granted after the registration deadline. - All program refunds are subject to the program coordinator’s approval. - Refunds will not be approved on Park District passes. Passes/cards are non-transferable.

A Nash Recreation Center pass or daily fee allows patrons to use the pool and whirlpool, gym, and Fitness Center.
Racquetball & Wallyball
Racquetball court rental is included in the annual pass fee and is $3.00/hour for non-annual pass holders. Wallyball court rental is $5.00/hour.
Specials
Automatic Monthly Payment
This is a convenient way to pay for your pass and selected programs. The automatic debit monthly fees are shown above. With your permission, automatic credit card charges will be made each month. The first amount is the initial payment that will be made when registering, followed by the amount of 10 equal payments to be charged on the 15th of each month.
$1.00 Sundays at Nash! The daily fee for everyone is only $1.00. $1.00 Fridays start May 30th when Nash is closed on Sundays for the summer.

Nash Fitness Center
Groups of 15 or more will receive a 10% discount on daily fees if reservations are made at least 10 days in advance. Contact the Oregon Park District for reservation information and details about areas that would best suit your needs.
Corporate Memberships
The Oregon Park District offers four corporate membership options for resident and non-resident companies. For more information call (815)732-3101.
Lockers
The Oregon Park District has lockers available for rental to annual pass holders for the term of the pass. The resident fee is $60.00 and non-resident fee is $75.00.
Mt. Morris Village Residents
Mt. Morris Village residents can register for all programs, memberships, facility rentals, and daily fees at the Oregon Park District resident rate. Additional non-resident fees are subsidized by the Village of Mt. Morris.
Gift certificates are available for passes as well as our many programs. For more information, inquire at Nash. The Nash Fitness Center is over 6,000 square feet and features a three lane rubberized track that surrounds our CYBEX strength training machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Our friendly Fitness Center staff is available to set up an orientation for any and all users looking to begin a fitness routine.
Age Restrictions
Children under the age of 5 are welcome to use the gym and pool area free of charge but must be accompanied by a parent or responsible person, 11 years or older. Participants must be 7th grade or older to use the Nash Fitness Center and 9th grade or older to use the free weights.
Health Clearance
All users are asked to fill out a health history form. Anyone with prior health problems may be asked to obtain a doctor’s release before being permitted to work out. All health forms and doctor’s clearance forms are kept confidential.

Nash Recreation Center Pool
The Nash pool features stairs to a 3 foot bay area attached to a 25 meter 6 lane pool. The deepest area is 10 feet. The pool is equipped with a new handicap chair lift to assist patrons in and out of the pool. After your workout you can enjoy the 13 person hot tub with both high and low jets.
Lap Swim
Six lap lanes will be available for swimmers 7th grade or older. Swimming 32 laps is a one mile workout.
Open Swim
All areas of the pool are open for use, including our diving board and basketball hoop. Pool toys are allowed in the pool at the discretion of the aquatic staff.
Multi-Use Swim
Multi-use swim is open to all ages, however, children are to be accompanied by an adult. Patrons may swim laps, play in the bay area, water jog in the deep end, or enjoy time in the hot tub. Swim lessons are scheduled during this time and will have first priority for pool use. Please be aware that areas of the pool may not be available.
Hot Tub Hours
The hot tub is available for use during lap swim, open swim, and multi-use swim. The hot tub can also be used during swim lessons, water aerobics, and twinges classes. You must be at least 16 years old to use the hot tub. The hot tub is equipped with a new handicap chair lift to assist patrons in and out of the hot tub.

The focus of Starbabies is to help very young children become comfortable in the water while also teaching the parent or caregiver the importance of water safety. StarGuard Class Ages 16 years & Up
StarGuard is a nationally recognized lifeguard training program that teaches the skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Candidates will receive hands-on training with actual equipment and realistic situations. Upon completion of a skills test and written test, participants will receive a certification in lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, and prevention of disease transmission. Attendance is mandatory and you must be 16 years of age upon completion of the course. Kettlebell Fitness with Lana Ages 18 years & Up
Both men and women are invited to join this challenging non-stop workout! Originating in Russia, a kettlebell is a centuriesold training tool that looks like a cannonball with a handle. Kettlebell training is different than other forms of weight training because many parts of the body are exercised simultaneously. In addition, kettlebell training elevates the heart rate for effective cardiovascular training. Kettlebell training will build long lean muscles, improve strength and power in the upper body, core, and lower body, and increase coordination, joint mobility and overall endurance. Cardio & Toning with Lana Ages 18 years & Up
Do you want a complete workout in just 30 minutes? This class is great for all fitness levels and abilities because variations are shown for beginners as well as for those that are advanced. There will be 15 minutes of heart-pumping cardio followed by 15 minutes of toning for each major muscle group. Students who have mastered Beginning Tumbling and are ready for the next step will continue to perfect their beginning skills while adding a new set of skills to their workout. Intermediate students will perfect their tumbling skills, including: front handsprings, limbers, front tucks, intro to standing flip flops, and, of course, all the basics learned at the beginning/ novice level. Advanced students will have a fast-paced class, which will include a series of flip flops, front tumbling, whips, and back tucks. Students must complete a roundoff flip flop by themselves or have a teacher recommendation to join the advanced group. A $20 deposit to be applied to your child’s first month’s tuition and your child’s birth certificate are required to register. Children must have been the appropriate age on or before September 1, 2013. If the session you are hoping to enroll your child in is full, please consider the other session, but also have your child’s name put on the waiting lists. Openings can occur and will be filled off of the waiting list.

During this two hour program the children are offered opportunities to develop social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and caring for others. Colors, shapes, name recognition and development of small motor skills, such as cutting and gluing, as well as large motor skills, are all part of the program.

Oregon Park District Tutoring Center Grades K - entering 3rd Grade
The Tutoring Center will provide one-on-one instruction for Math skill review and development. Customized lesson plans targeting specific skills for each child will be used while accomodating each child’s learning style. You, along with your child’s tutor, will determine the number of sessions primarily based on skill development and mastery. We are encouraging early registration for the Tutoring Center Summer Sessions. This would allow for communication with the current teacher for any input which will serve as a basis for the child’s summer skill work. Sessions will be one hour in length. Chess League Ages 8 years & Up
Calling all to play at this Royal Game! This round robin chess league will be held over an eight week period. Each player will play at least once a week, and never more than twice a week depending on the number of registrants. There must be at least four players, and a limit of sixteen players, in each age group. If there are less than four players per age group, age groups will be combined. Each player in the 8 - 12 age group must be accompanied by an adult during all play, who will serve as the “chess officient”. All other players in other age groups serve as their own “chess officient”. There are three chess sets available for check out at Nash, but players are encouraged to supply their own chess set. Each registered player will receive a Players Token, and trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group. At the mandatory orientation session on June 9th, at 6:00 pm, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive rule explanations, as well as behavior expectations. Dog Training Classes
The goal of these classes is to create a stronger bond between you and your dog that will last a lifetime and will give you a better understanding of your dog and their behavior. Obedience is the key to a happy, healthy relationship between you and your dog. Please be prepared to verify that all canines are up to date with vaccinations. Please bring a collar, leash, your dog’s favorite toy, and a small bag of treats to each class. Classes will meet at Wiggly Field dog park. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Beginning and Intermediate/Advanced Obedience will be held at the same time. Groups will be separated according to skill level. Beginning Obedience: From puppies (8 weeks) to adult dogs, this class is great for first time dog owners. This class will teach you how to interact with your dog and how to start teaching your dog basic positioning such as sit, down, stay, come, heel, along with many other commands that will make life easier with your dog. Intermediate/Advanced Obedience: For dogs and handlers with a basic understanding of positioning and manners, this class will teach proper heeling and stabilizing along with basic positions such as sit, down, heel, come, etc. Agility Training: This training will be fun for the dog and the handler alike! Natural Resource Fair
The 3rd Annual Natural Resource fair is for those who enjoy the outdoors. Vendors will be selling natural homemade items. There will be a maple syrup tasting contest for best syrup. All of the syrup producers will show their operation with some selling syrup as well as syrup-related goods. Community Garden Plots
Community Garden plots will be available for rent this spring. These plots are located at Veterans’ Park at the corner of 10th and Webster Streets. Plots are 4’ x 8’ and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Planting can begin in April, weather permitting. Renters are responsible for the planting, pruning, and harvesting of the plot for the entire duration of the planting season and will be required to remove all materials post season. Build-A-Birdhouse Contest

If you enjoy birds, woodworking, friendly competition and need a fun winter/spring project, this contest is for you. Design your own birdhouse or create one from an existing pattern. Cut and assemble your house and embellish if you choose. Specific Contest Rules are available at Nash Recreation Center or at www. oregonpark.org. Judging will take place in the spring and the bird houses will be on display at Nash and at Merlin’s Spring Open House. Some houses may be chosen by the OPD Parks Department to be on display and for use in the parks. Entry Deadline is April 1, 2014.

Wiggly Wag & Walk Wednesday
Dog lovers will want to come out to Wiggly Field for the 2nd Annual Wiggly Wag and Walk Wednesday & Pet Fair. This is a free evening of entertainment and fun with your dog! Meet the Pet vendors (shop a little, too), bring donations for Paws for Claws and Granny Rose Shelter, see demonstrations, check out Wiggly Field and enjoy dinner at the Park - a hot dog, of course! Vendors will be set up outside Wiggly Field Dog Park (no membership tag required/rabies tag required). However, to utilize the dog park or get up close and personal with some of the trainers and demonstrators, a membership tag will be required (inside Wiggly Field Dog Park). Any time between 4:30 and 6:30 we invite you to participate in the High Card Hound Hike. Owners and their dog(s) will walk a pre-set route through Park West and back to Wiggly Field stopping at check points for “treats” and water for the dogs. At checkpoints, owners will also draw a card and upon returning cards will be totaled and High Card wins the Wiggly Wag & Walk Gift Basket. There will also be games with prizes and giveaways. Slam-n-Jam Saturday, June 14th 10:00 am If you are looking for a full day of family fun in the park, be sure to save the date for the 2014 Slam-n-Jam Event on your calendar. Enjoy a Saturday full of fun at Touch-a-Truck, the Splash Pad, the Bags Tourney, Volleyball Tourney, Tennis Tourney, or one of the many baseball, t-ball and softball games throughout the day. Kids will love the inflatables and Pitch-Burst game. Enjoy entertainment, the Geocaching Event (must RSVP @ geocaching.com), and watch the very popular Celebrity Softball Game (local business owners and residents vs OHS Softball players and alumni) at 3:00 pm. There will also be food, beverages and ice cream available to purchase as well as raffle tickets. All baseball games will be played to celebrate the short life of former Park District employee and huge baseball fan Joseph Kerwin III. Chicago Flower & Garden Show
The Chicago Flower & Garden Show is blooming again. This annual show at Navy Pier is a must-see show for those who enjoy flowers and gardening. The 2014 show theme is “Do Green. Do Good.” Learn about gardening for the greater good. The garden you create for yourself and share with others is a great way to “Do Green. Do Good.” You will be treated to the sights, scents and sounds of feature gardens with blooming perennials, annuals and trees while water features rustle throughout the festival halls. An array of games will be provided or you can bring your own. Parties must be booked at least two weeks in advance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to have a fun-filled sports party, then this is definitely the party you want to throw! Your party will take place at the Blackhawk Center. Elite Pacers Club 2014
If you log 1,000 miles in our Fitness Center by the end of October, 2014, you will receive an Elite Pacers Club t-shirt. After your workout, simply fill out one of our Pacers Club cards and drop it in the box. We will then enter your workout information into our computer. All miles and/or time will be converted into bike miles. The totals will be posted every Monday. If you are a new member, please ask the fitness supervisor on duty and they will explain how to record your miles.

The Oregon Park District is happy to comply with the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Lost and found articles are kept a maximum of 60 days and then donated to charitable organizations. If you think you or a family member may have lost something in one of our parks or facilities, please call or visit Nash Recreation Center.
Scholarship Program
The Oregon Park District believes that every child should have an opportunity to participate in recreational programs regardless of financial hardship. For this reason, the Oregon Park District offers scholarships to Park District residents for reduced program rates according to financial need. Application forms are available at Nash Recreation Center or online at www.oregonpark.org. Applicants for scholarships are not guaranteed program registration or choice of program location. Scholarship fund availability cannot be guaranteed.
Memorial Tree
Donate a tree in memory of a loved one. You can choose the type of tree and park location. Contact the Park District for more information about this program.
Bird Walk
Enjoy a scenic walk through the parks while enjoying nature’s winged friends. Each bird location features a bird habitat structure that simulates the bird’s natural habitat. Pick up your guide at Nash Recreation Center.
Photo Policy
The Oregon Park District and/or professional photographers under contract may videotape or take photographs of participants in Park District activities, classes, programs, or parks. These photographs and videotapes are used for future recreation guides, brochures, Facebook, and other marketing materials.
FREE Rental Of Fishing Equipment
Would you like to go fishing but lack the equipment? The Oregon Park District has partnered with Rock River Outfitters to offer sport fishing equipment through the IDNR. Fishing rods, reels, and tackle are available to borrow at Rock River Outfitters, 114 N. River Road, Oregon.
Night Fishing Permits
You can now fish at night in Oregon Park District Parks by purchasing a required Night Fishing Permit. Permits are available at Nash for $20.00 and are valid thru 12/31/14.

‘Wiggly Field’ Dog Park
Officially opened in July 2012, Wiggly Field Dog Park is the first off-leash dog park operated by the Oregon Park District. The dog park is a 1 acre fenced off-leash area with two separate entrances and exits for safety. The first area is an open running area and the second is an agility training area. The park offers water fountains for people and dogs. Wiggly Field off-leash dog park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Agility equipment will be removed during the winter months and brought back in the spring. We ask all owners to have fun, but be responsible. All users and dogs must have a permit. Please stop by Nash Recreation Center to get a permit and receive the rules and regulations.

Geocaching (geo-cashing) is an environmentally friendly outdoor recreational activity for families and individuals alike. This outdoor treasure hunting game involves searching for hidden objects using clues and GPS (global positioning system) coordinates. There are 10 geocaches strategically placed within and near the Oregon Park District’s parks and facilities. Enjoy learning and taking in the beauty of these destinations while on your real life treasure hunt for geocaches! You will need a www.geocaching.com membership, a GPS device or a GPS-enabled mobile phone so you can navigate to a cache, a pen or pencil to sign the cache log, and you may want to bring an exchangeable treasure!
