pool information

As part of the 2013 Nash Renovation, the pool will be closed beginning March 18th and re-open the beginning of August. Any pass holders wishing to temporarily suspend their quarterly or annual pass can turn in their badge once the pool has closed. The Park District will extend the expiration date of these passes following the opening of the pool.

BYRON POOL MEMBERSHIP SPECIAL The Byron Park District has stepped in to help those users who want to use a pool all summer. Byron PD has created a discounted Nash Pass Holder special. Stop by Nash to pick up a Certification of OPD Membership form to receive this pool only pass at Byron’s pool. The fee is $60 for an individual and $120 for a family.

PAST FUTURE PROJECT INFORMATION The Park District was awarded a 1.5 Million Dollar Park and Recreational Facility Grant (PARC Grant). The Park District was one of 22 recipients out of 265 grant seekers. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources administers the 50 Million Dollar grant program. The District received this grant because of several strong application points, including building renovation needs, safety and efficiency needs as well as local employment needs. The impact to local tax payers is minimized due to the fact that the IDNR PARC grant will cover 75% of the total cost of the 2013 Nash Renovation.

Kettlebell Fitness with Lana Ages 18 years & Up

Both men and women are invited to join this challenging non-stop workout! Originating in Russia, a kettlebell is a centuriesold training tool that looks like a cannonball with a handle. Kettlebell training is different than other forms of weight training because many parts of the body are exercised simultaneously. In addition, kettlebell training elevates the heart rate for effective cardiovascular training. Kettlebell training will build long lean muscles, improve strength and power in the upper body, core and lower body, and increase coordination, joint mobility and overall endurance. You will burn many calories because your heart will be pumping the entire 30 minutes. Classes are held at Nash. * Negative Multiplier ‐> 2010 = .9760 / 2011 = .9678 / 2012 = .9421 (County Assessment Office)  The 2012 proposed tax levy calculation estimates a decrease in the typical Oregon homeowner taxes payable to   Oregon Park District. A tax decrease of $5.13 is expected for an owner of a median home (fair market value of the $111,326). The District makes every effort to provide the best services possible, with the least amount of impact to the local taxpayers. While the District makes every attempt to balance its tax rate on an annual basis, slight fluctuations will occur. While the Park District’s overall tax rate is estimated to increase by 0.0000635 (per $100 of Equalized Assessed Value), the typical Oregon homeowner is expected to realize a reduction in taxes payable to the Park District.

The Oregon Park District takes great pride in providing our residents with the best services without negatively affecting their tax bills. This dollar bill breakdown is for a typical Oregon City resident for the 2011 tax year. The Oregon Park District received only 4.6 cents of every real estate tax dollar a typical homeowner paid.
