Dear Residents,

In addition to program planning, the district continues to work to update the rolling capital improvement plan. This five-year plan outlines district improvements and is continually updated with infrastructure needs as well as planning the best use of capital funds each year for the district.

GENERAL INFO

Another year is upon us, and the Oregon Park District staff and Commissioners invite you to look to the new year with hope, optimism and a renewed interest in exploring the recreation opportunities in our community. The Park District continues to serve more than 6800 residents annually and provide over 150 acres of open space. There is sure to be something for everyone at one of our 11 park sites or Nash Recreation Center. The subsequent pages outline the many programs offered for patrons of all ages and carefully crafted by our talented staff to meet your needs. Exciting new opportunities include the ‘Taste of Oregon’, the return of personal training, a fan bus to the Field of Dreams to cheer on the Oregon Ganymede’s and the Mother/Son and Daddy/Daughter date nights.

The district’s rolling capital improvement plan calls for several infrastructure upgrades in 2022 alongside an exciting new recreation feature. The Park East overlook deck will be replaced in the spring and provide for improved viewing opportunities on the east side of the river. In addition, the district will pursue paving upgrades, accessibility improvements, and new pickleball courts at Mix Park. An exciting new addition to the district will be the installation of the Musco Mini-Pitch Soccer System. Mini-Pitch is a modular soccer complex complete with fencing, goals, benches and lighting to create a soccer field perfect for small sided games. Keep an eye out for league and training opportunities in late spring/early summer. Despite the uncertainty of the pandemic, the Oregon Park District continues to ‘Create fun for a lifetime’ through quality parks, facilities, and programs. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to continuing to serve your recreation needs.

SIBLING DISCOUNT *FOR SELECT PROGRAMS The Oregon Park District offers a sibling discount of 10% for select programs for each additional child enrolled in a program where one child has already enrolled at full price in the same session. Registration for all siblings must take place at Nash or by phone at the same time in order to receive the discount, if applicable. All family members must be in the same account to qualify.

OPD FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The Oregon Park District provides financial assistance in several forms to help families or individuals that are in financial difficulty with program fees, preschool tuition, Extended Time program and Camp Oh-Pea-Dee. Funds are provided through employee-driven fundraising and generous donations through the A. Charles and Lillemor Lawrence Foundation. Applications are available online and at Nash Recreation Center, 304 S. 5th Street, Oregon. For more information or questions contact Alyssa at alyssa@oregonpark. org. Did you know you can register online with the Oregon Park District? Since July of 2019, the District has been able to offer simple and efficient online registration for you and your family, using our Recreation software, Perfect Mind. With Perfect Mind, users can update account information, register for an activity or event, or reserve a shelter or Nash Recreation Center room from anywhere with an internet connection. If you are new to the Oregon Park District, you can create an account in a few short steps! Already have an account with your primary email address? Please make sure to select ‘Forgot your password’ to re-establish your account. Once you’re logged in, you can complete a registration, view your attendance history and future schedule, update your payment information, and so much more! The registration system offers a user-friendly interface, simple navigation, and customizable features to best serve our community.

Party times are available during all open swim hours. Please see the pool schedule for specific times. Reservations are required at least 2 weeks in advance. When making a reservation, please have an approximate number attending for room set up. Set-up time of 15 minutes prior to the reservation time is allowed for decorating. Refunds will only be considered only if notice is given 10 days in advance.

The Gymnasium features two full basketball courts. Each side must be reserved individually. Water only is allowed in the gym. Fee: $30/$36 NR for first hour $15/$18 NR per hour after the first hour

Celebrate your event with the Nash Recreation Center pool or facility all to yourself! These parties occur after the facility has been closed to the general public and pass holders. This is a perfect location for youth group, sports teams or school after hours event. AUTOMATIC MONTHLY PAYMENT

A Nash Recreation Center pass or daily fee allows patrons to use the pool and whirlpool, gym, TRX room, and Fitness Center.

This is a convenient way to pay for your pass and select programs. The automatic debit monthly fees are shown below. With your permission, automatic credit card charges will be made each month. The first amount is the initial payment that will be made when registering, followed by the amount of 11 equal payments charged each month.

RAQUETBALL & WALLEYBALL Racquetball court rental is included in the annual pass fee and is $3.00/hour for non-annual pass holders. Wallyball court rental is $5.00/hour.

NASH FITNESS CENTER The Nash Fitness Center is over 6,000 square feet and features a three lane rubberized track that surrounds our CYBEX strength training machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Fitness Center staff is available to set up an orientation for any and all users looking to begin a fitness routine.

TRX ROOM A new addition to the facility includes our TRX room featuring 800 square feet of alternative fitness equipment. Room features 6 TRX stations, kettlebells, weighted ropes, yoga mats, dumbells, tire flip, punching bag, spin bikes, rower, elliptical, air assault treadmill and stairmill.

LOCKERS The Oregon Park District has lockers available for rental to annual pass holders for the term of the pass. The cost is $65 for residents and $80 for non-residents.

3 PAY PAYMENT PLAN Your annual pass is paid off in three equal consecutive payments! The pass fee is paid for the first three months, and is only available on annual passes.

AGE RESTRICTIONS Children under the age of 5 are welcome to use the gym and pool area free of charge. Anyone 3rd grade or younger must be accompanied by a parent or responsible person, Junior High aged or older in the facility. Participants must be 7th grade or older to use the Nash Fitness Center and 9th grade or older to use the free weights.

The Nash pool features stairs to a 3-foot bay area attached to a 25 meter 6 lane pool. The deepest area is 10 feet. The pool is equipped with a handicap chair lift to assist patrons in and out of the pool. After your workout, you can enjoy the 13-person hot tub with both high and low jets.

Six lap lanes will be available for swimmers 7th grade or older. Swimming 32 laps is a one mile workout.

HOT TUB HOURS The hot tub is available for use during Lap Swim, Open Swim, Water Aerobics, and Twinges classes. You must be at least 16 years old to use the hot tub. The hot tub is equipped with a handicap chair lift to assist patrons in and out of the hot tub.

OPEN SWIM All areas of the pool are open for use, including our diving board and basketball hoop. Pool toys are allowed in the pool at the discretion of the aquatic staff.

Deep Water Aerobics is a more intense workout than your typical water aerobics class. Working out in the deep end will allow you to get a cardiovascular workout without the impact. You will also increase your endurance, flexibility and strength. Participants do not need to know how to swim. An aqua jogger belt will be provided.

Let the natural buoyancy and resistance of the water help you improve your joint strength and flexibility along with improving cardiovascular endurance while walking and jogging in the shallow end. Participants do not need to know how to swim.

Exercise your entire body without putting stress on your back and joints. This class will work on toning, cardiovascular strength, endurance, and flexibility. All levels can participate, and participants can tailor exercises to their ability.

Join "The Rink" for a private Spring Break Skate Camp on Monday, March 28th from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Your child will be grouped with Beginner, Medium or Intermediate skaters to learn to skate, improve their skills or take their skating to the next level with tricks. PICKLEBALL OPEN GYM-AGES 18+ Pickleball is often described as a mixture of ping-pong, tennis, and badminton, all played on a mini tennis court with an oversized paddle and a ball similar to a wiffle ball. This game is fast, fun, and addictive and can be played by people of all athletic abilities! Drop in at your own lesisure and enjoy this wonderful sport. EARLY RISE WITH AIMEE-AGES 18+ Rise and shine, get you day started with Aimee! This class covers cardio and light to medium weight training to help increase stamina, strength, and flexibility. This is an excellent way to cross train! Beginner, moderate, and advanced health enthusiasts are all welcome. Classes will be held at the Nash Recreation Center River Room. No Drop-Ins or Punch Passes, registration only.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LEAGUE-AGES 18+ Women's Basketball League is back at the Oregon Park District! Games are played 3-on-3 on a half court at Nash. Teams will compete in a regular season followed by a tournament to conclude the season. This is a fun opportunity for all skill levels to play in a competitive atmosphere. The league will be self officiated and all players must be 18+ years old and graduated from High School. Number of teams is limited, so register early!

CO-ED SAND VOLLEYBALL-AGES 18+ This Co-Ed Sand Volleyball League will be played at our sand volleyball courts at Park West. There will be regular season followed by an end of year tournament. Teams may have up to 6 players on the court at a time, but may never exceed 3 males on the court. Players must be 18+ and graduated from High School. Gather your friends and come on out for some summer fun on.

Jason Donegan is a certified Personal Trainer, Nutritionist and Fitness Coach through ISSA (International Sports & Sciences Association). Jason’s passion is to help both youth and adults reach their potential through exercise. Jason has been assisting clients in Ogle County and is excited to be available at Nash Recreation Center. Whether you are a beginner or want to take your fitness training to the next level, Jason can provide you with personalized instruction, guidance and the support necessary to achieve your results. From fat loss, strength and conditioning, bodybuilding and sports related training, Jason has the experience to create an individualized plan for you. Jason is available by appointment in the afternoons/evenings to help you on your fitness journey. Training is available in both the Nash Fitness Center and the TRX Fitness Room. All new clients will begin with a complimentary 30 minute fitness assessment/consultation. SPRING SOCCER Practices will be held during the week and games are scheduled for Saturdays beginning April in Oregon and surrounding towns. This instructional camp will give you hands on practice to perfect your skills this season. Camp will meet on May 1, 8 and 15. All proceeds to benefit the High School Baseball team. LITTLE BASEBALL STARS-AGES 3-5 Your child will learn the very basics of baseball in this introductory program, offered by OHS Coach Nate Girton and his baseball players. Both clubs will be wearing authentic period wool uniforms and are quite skilled at playing the early 1867 rules of baseball. Our students and staff are able to be independent from Nash Recreation Center with their own kitchen, bathroom and both indoor and outdoor classrooms. The separation has allowed for easier transitions at drop-off and much less contact than entering through the traditional Nash Recreation Center entrance. Pick-up will allow parents to park on School and 6th Street and enter our back patio for dismissal.

Staff engages students in both recreational and educational activities that encourage teamwork, self-confidence and fun. Located at the Blackhawk Center, children can walk to school in the morning and straight over after school. The daily afternoon schedule includes time for snack, homework, themed projects, as well as physical activity.

REFUND POLICY

To withdraw a child from Extended Time, a refund request must be submitted online. A full refund, less the $5 administrative fee, will be granted if the application for refund is filed by the 25th of the month prior, also known as the Extended Time registration deadline. Refunds will not be granted after the 25th of the month prior unless due to a medical note or emergency. All refunds are subject to the program coordinator’s approval. A full refund will be issued if the Park District cancels a scheduled day.

Community Garden Plots • May 1-Nov. 1 • $30/$36 NR Grow local and eat fresh! The Oregon Park District is partnering with the Oregon Transition Program to manage the Community Garden in 2022. Twelve Community Garden plots are available to rent each spring. The raised beds are 4’x8’ and will be available on a first-come first-served basis. There is also a bed available designed for physically challenged or handicapped individuals. The plots are conveniently located at Veterans Park on South 10th Street in Oregon. The plots offer both residents and non-residents the opportunity to produce fruits, veggies, herbs, flowers and more at the community garden, spend time outdoors, and share gardening knowledge and skills with others. Weeding of your beds is complimentary with your fee. Students will keep your bed clear of weeds all season long. The OHS Transition Program will be growing items at the garden to benefit their programs and sell at the River's Edge Market. All fees will be donated 100% to the OHS Transition Team. Excess produce can be donated to Lifeline Food Pantry.

WIGGLY FIELD DOG PARK - PASSES VALID JAN 1 - DEC 31

Officially opened in July 2012, Wiggly Field Dog Park is the first off-leash dog park operated by the Oregon Park District. The dog park is a 1 acre fenced off-leash area with two separate entrances and exits for safety. The first area is an open running area and the second is an agility training area. The park offers water fountains for people and dogs. Wiggly Field off-leash dog park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Agility equipment will be removed during the winter months and brought back in the spring. We ask all owners to have fun but be responsible. All users and dogs must have a permit. Please stop by Nash Recreation Center to get your permit. Proof of rabies vaccination is required upon registering. A $20 Key Fob deposit is collected for all firsttime users. The deposit is a one-time fee and will be refunded if the user chooses not to renew the membership. The Park District offers a free blood pressure and heart rate monitor in our Fitness Center. It is a fully automatic self-attended monitor. Be heart-healthy and happy! Know your blood pressure!

The Oregon Park District believes that every child should have an opportunity to participate in recreational programs regardless of financial hardship. The Oregon Park District offers scholarships to all OCUSD students for reduced program rates according to financial need. Application forms are available at Nash Recreation Center or online at www.oregonpark. org. Applicants for scholarships are not guaranteed program registration or choice of program location. Scholarship fund availability cannot be guaranteed.

MILITARY POLICY Military home on active duty, their resident family members during military tours and wounded warriors will have access to Nash Recreation Center at no charge. Proof of military status must be provided. In addition, Wounded Warriors must provide documentation of their status as a veteran disabled during service.
