Joe Kerwin Baseball & Softball Celebration at Park West

SATURDAY, JUNE 3 FROM 8:30 AM- 1:00 PM

Let's celebrate the beginning of baseball/softball season and remember former Park District employee, scorekeeper and huge baseball fan, Joe Kerwin. Let's pack the park and enjoy doubleheaders at both diamonds at Oregon Park West. This will be a fun morning at Park West, not just for baseball/softball families, but fun for the community and all who knew Joe to come out and watch our youth play ball! All teams will be announced so players should wear their team shirts. All players who attend will also be entered into a drawing with several prizes to be given away!

Jr. High Cross Country

Age: 5th-8th graders

5th-8th Grade athletes will develop endurance, improve their running technique, and build team camaraderie. Practices will be held multiple days of the week and meets will be held similar to the high school schedule. Transportation to meets is not provided. Sign up early to ensure you maximize practices before the meets begin!

*Practices will begin the week of 7/31, but registration is open through 8/16.

Summer Running Series

Age: 5th-8th graders

Date: Fri 6/2-7/28; Tu 8/1

Time: 1:00-2:00 pm

Calling all 5th-8th Graders! Join Certified Running Coach Matt Hussung for our new summer running series and get prepared for the fall season. The group will meet weekly on Friday afternoons for an hour to train and run. Coach will develop a training program for workouts that runners can do on their own! The series will conclude with an entry into the Park Districts Color Run on August 1 and an exclusive summer run series/color run shirt to wear to the event. *No meeting 6/30

OHS Summer Boys and Girls Basketball Camp

Date: 6/5-6/9

Location: Blackhawk Center

Fee: $30/$35 NR

Join the OHS men’s and women’s Basketball Coaches Reynolds and Donahue and their teams for a fun summer basketball camp. This co-ed camp will concentrate on developing your fundamental skills and learning new strategies. The week will end with a friendly 3v3 tournament for the players on Friday! All participants will receive a camp T-shirt and medals will be awarded to the tournament winners. All proceeds will benefit the OHS Boys and Girls Basketball Programs.

Youth Tennis Camp

Date: 6/20-6/23

Location: Park West Tennis Courts

Fee: $35/$40 NR

Tennis Camp is back at Oregon Park West! Join Coach Kristy Eckardt for a fun filled week learning basic skills and improving on your current skills. Kristy is an experienced certified Tennis Coach and is the current Rochelle High School Tennis Coach. Please bring a tennis racket and a water bottle. All camp participants will receive a T-shirt. There will be a limited number of park district tennis rackets that you can borrow. Please register your child for the grade they are entering in Fall 2023.

Fall Basketball Camp

Date: Mon 9/11-10/2

Location: Blackhawk Center

Fee: $30/$36 NR

This is an introduction to the fundamentals of basketball for both boys and girls instructed by the Oregon High School Girls and Boys Basketball Teams. Youth will develop dribbling, passing and shooting skills in a positive and fun atmosphere! The location of the camps will be at the Blackhawk Center. Camp t-shirt is included in price. Please bring a water bottle.

Youth Pickleball Camp

Date: 7/11-7/13

Location: Mix Park

Fee: FREE

Are you interested in learning how to play Pickleball? Join Coach Kristy Eckardt for a free youth pickleball camp. Practice some shots and learn how the game is played, then play games against your fellow campers. This camp is open to players entering 3rd-12th grade in the fall. There is no charge for this camp, but space is limited. Registration is required. Paddles and balls will be available to use!
