Dear Residents:

In-person outdoor activities began earlier this month in accordance with guidelines received from health officials regarding best practices to reduce the risk of contagion. As we inch closer to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan, the District has considered additional program and facility modifications to adhere to the maximum group size of 50 people or fewer. The District is using the following criteria in planning for onsite activities: • • • • •

Reduced Program Sizes Frequent Handwashing Staggering Program Start Times Increased Cleaning of Equipment Program Modifications

It is projected we will enter Phase 4 on June 26th. Phase 4 allows for all outdoor recreation to resume with modifications. Beginning on June 26th the District will re-open all playgrounds, the splash pad, dog park and shelters. Signage will be posted to remind all users of social distancing recommendations.

The Park District is taking a proactive stance to keep our community, participants and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are currently operating and will continue to operate within the applicable parameters set forth by the Governor’s office, CDC and IDPH.

Nash Recreation Center will re-open on July 8th with capacity limits and social distancing requirements as identified by IDPH. A new reservation system will be introduced to allow users to schedule a use time for the pool, fitness center and gym. This technology will assist with operations and limit group sizes. Reservations can be made by calling 732-3101 or at www.oregonpark.org beginning July 1st. To help users better understand the new procedures, the District has created a ‘We Play Safe’ document to outline expectations at www.oregonpark.org. These procedures are new and may take time for our users to adapt, but we are here for you and ready to assist in any way we can. We want our residents to understand, we take very seriously the well-being of our community and nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our participants and guests. However, we also understand that the suspension of access to our recreation programs and facilities has resulted in a negative effect on our community’s overall physical and mental wellness. We know that it’s time to get back to recreation in Oregon and we look forward to welcoming you back on July 8th.

SIBLING DISCOUNT *FOR SELECT PROGRAMS The Oregon Park District offers a sibling discount of 10% off the regular fee for each additional child enrolled in a program where one child has already enrolled at full price in the same session. Registration for all siblings must take place at Nash or by phone at the same time in order to receive the discount. All family members must be in the same account to qualify.

OPD FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The Oregon Park District provides financial assistance in several forms to help families or individuals that are in financial difficulty with program fees, preschool tuition, Extended Time program and Camp Oh-Pea-Dee. Funds are provided through employee-driven fundraising and generous donations through the A. Charles and Lillemor Lawrence Foundation. Applications are available online and Nash Recreation Center, 304 S. 5th Street, Oregon. For more information or questions contact Alyssa at alyssa@oregonpark.org. Funds are available for anyone residing within the Oregon School District boundaries.

RESIDENCY

MT. MORRIS VILLAGE RESIDENTS Mt. Morris Village residents can register for all programs, memberships, facility rentals and daily fees at the Oregon Park District resident rate. Additional non-resident fees are subsidized by the Village of Mt. Morris.

CLASS CHANGES The Oregon Park District may cancel, postpone, combine classes, or change instructors. Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment and refunds will be issued. All participants will be notified of any scheduling changes or cancellations.

LOCKERS Shared locker room space is currently limited to registered participants of the pool. All other use is restricted. Annual locker rentals are currently unavailable. For those that previously held annual lockers, prorated refunds will be issued and pick up of personal items is available at the Front Counter.

Fees must be paid at the time of registration by cash, check, or credit card. The first fee listed is the rate for Oregon Park District residents. The second fee is for non-residents. No registrations or rentals will be accepted without the proper payment.

3 PAY PAYMENT PLAN Your annual pass is paid off in three equal consecutive payments! The pass fee is paid for the first three months, and is only available on annual passes.

AUTOMATIC MONTHLY PAYMENT This is a convenient way to pay for your pass and select programs. The automatic debit monthly fees are shown below. With your permission, automatic credit card charges will be made each month. The first amount is the initial payment that will be made when registering, followed by the amount of 11 equal payments charged each month.

SILVERSNEAKERS & RENEW ACTIVE The Oregon Park District is an approved SilverSneakers and Renew Active location. If you are unsure if you are a member or do not have a membership ID, the front counter staff at Nash can assist in determining your eligibility.

All Oregon School District students participating in youth team sports are considered residents. If registering online, residency must be approved. See page 6.

Save Time! Register Online! The Oregon Park District recently launched Perfect Mind, a new online registration system. With the new system, the District now offers a user-friendly interface, simple navigation, and customizable features to save you and your family time when registering for District programs and events! Perfect Mind provides the ability for our users to update account information, view attendance history and future schedule, register for an activity or event, and check on the availability of a shelter or Nash Recreation Center room rental from anywhere with an internet connection.

Not a member yet? Create an Account! Already have an account with your primary email address? Simply login or select ‘Forgot your password’ to re-establish your account. Once you’re in, you can update your household information, payment information, sign up for programs and activities, and reserve shelters. While the District strives to make your online experience one of the best, please note there are a few account features that are not available online. •

All patrons that create their own account will be flagged as a Non-Resident. If you live within the District boundaries and are a Resident, please call Nash Recreation Center at (815) 732-3101 so our Customer Service team can update your account. Once updated, resident rates will be applied for all future online registrations and reservations. Discounts are not available through Online Registration. If you wish to take advantage of our Sibling Discount, please register over the phone or at Nash Recreation Center.

WAIVER POLICY

Nash Recreation Center will be open to members only in July due to expected capactiy limits imposed by IDPH. The District wil evaluate the capacity limits and determine if we will reopen to all users or continue to restrict use to members beginning August 3rd.

The Oregon Park District requires all class participants and pass holders to sign a waiver release form. Waivers will be signed and kept on file at Nash Recreation Center. Your registration is not considered complete until a signed waiver is on file. All members will be required to complete an updated facility waiver upon re-opening in July.

AGE RESTRICTIONS Participants must be 7th grade or older to participate during Lap Swim. Members in highschool or older may use the fitness center. Participants must be 18 years old to use the TRX Room.

NASH FITNESS CENTER The Nash Fitness Center is over 6,000 square feet and features a three lane rubberized track that surrounds our CYBEX strength training machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Reservations are required for use of the fitness center.

TRX ROOM A new addition to the facility includes our TRX room featuring 800 square feet of alternative fitness equipment. Room features 6 TRX stations, kettlebells, weighted ropes, yoga mats, dumbells, tire flip, punching bag, spin bikes, rower, elliptical, air assault treadmill and stairmill. Reservations are required for use of the TRX Room.

RAQUETBALL & WALLEYBALL Racquetball courts will remain closed during the month of July. Staff will evaluate facility use and Phase 4 guidelines and consider re-opening the courts in early August.

POOL The pool will be open for lap swim and water aerobics only. See page 8 for the full pool schedule. Reservations are required.

GYMNASIUM The gymnasium will be available for scheduled pickleball times only during the month of July. This may be expanded for additional activities in August. See page 15 for the scheduled time slots. Reservations are required.

MEMBERSHIP REFUNDS Existing passholders that find the limited facility scheduling cannot accommodate their needs can request a prorated refund online at https://www.oregonpark.org/covid-19-pass-refund-request/. Members can call (815)732-3101 with any questions.

PROGRAM REFUNDS *A full refund will be issued if the Park District reschedules/cancels a class. *To withdraw from a program, a refund application must be completed by visitng our website and submitting a request. *An administrative fee of $5 shall be deducted from the amount of a refund to offset the cost of processing the refund. A full refund, less the fee, will be granted if the application for refund is filed with the office prior to the registration deadline. *Refunds will not be granted after the deadline. *All program refunds are subject to the program coordinator's approval.

If the program participant exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, as set out by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, or has come in direct recent contact with an individual exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and is unable to participate in the program, a full refund will be returned for the registration.

Deep Water Aerobics is a more intense workout than your typical water aerobics class. Working out in the deep end will allow you to get a cardiovascular workout without the impact. You will also increase your endurance, flexibility and strength. Participants do not need to know how to swim. An aqua jogger belt will be provided.

Catch the Wave Swim Club structures the program to provide much more than just swimming lessons. Our curriculum, teacher training, evaluation system, and parent communication are all designed to provide a total Aquatic Education. Our primary technique to achieve water safety is to teach all students to comfortably live in the water. When a student truly learns to live in the water, the strokes come easily. We ﬁnd that a child enjoys the lessons, the more successful the learning process is. Therefore, our ﬁrst priority is to create a happy atmosphere.

SWIMMING LEVEL DESCRIPTIONS PENGUIN BABIES

ADVANCED

In Penguin Babies, parent participation is required in the water. Class focus is on water acclamation, submersion, back floating and independence in the water.

In Advanced, student focus is on advanced freestyle and backstroke training with a strong emphasis on kicking and body position.

LITTLE LEARNERS

ELITE

In little learners, the student focus is on overcoming anxieties associated with the water and parent separation along with introductory back float techniques.

Elite is considered our pre-team level, the class focus is on swimming efficiency. Students learn how to maintain form through distance training and by coordinating stroke movements properly.

INTERMEDIATE In Intermediate, the student focus is on self-rescue foundations through proper stroke and breathing techniques.

All class stations will be placed a minimum of 6 feet from one another to allow for social distancing. Stations will be sanitized prior to class and after class.

Rise and shine and get your day started with Aimee! This class covers cardio and light to medium weight training to help increase stamina, strength and flexibility. VIRTUAL DUALTHLON

ADULT TORO LEAGUE-AGES 18+

Many participated in our May marathon challenge while others did the June cycling challenge. Now we are onto July and combining the two to create a July duathlon challenge for any age and any ability level. The challenge is to complete a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a half century bike ride (50 miles) within the 31 days of July. A perfect motivator this Summer to get and stay active! The program is simple, just register by June 30 and you will be emailed an official tracking sheet on July 1st. Track your mileage, submit via email and earn your finisher dry-fit T-shirt at the end of the month.

Join us for an adult TORO league featuring 2 v 2 games at the new courts at Park West. Sign up is for teams of 2 who will compete against other teams in fast paced exciting games combining elements of soccer, strategy and team work! Each time slot will feature 45 mins of playing time, with 15 minutes transition times between games. There will be a 5 week regular season followed by an end of season tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Wearing of face masks is encouraged and government guidelines will be followed. A OPD staff member will be present at all times. There will be a hand sanitizer station on site.

Oregon High School Soccer Camp is back! Varsity coach, Seger Larson and the Oregon Hawks team will run this fun, interactive, and informative camp at Park West! Seger and his players will teach the fundamentals of the game, various strategies, as well as teamwork. Each participant will also receive a camp shirt! 100% of proceeds benefit Oregon Soccer. Sanitation station will be on site, and government guidelines will be adhered to.

Grab your friends and join us for a fun Youth Co-Ed Sand Volleyball League on our new Sand Volleyball courts at Park West. Teams will consist of a maximum of 6 players with a maximum roster of 15, and there cannot be more than 3 males at once on the court. Games will be self-officiated and the season will last 4 weeks. Tennis Camp is back at Oregon Park West! Join Coach Kristy Eckardt for a fun filled week learning basic skills and improving on your current skills. Kristy is an experienced certified Tennis Coach and is the current Rochelle High School Tennis Coach. Participants must bring their own racket. All camp participants will receive a T-shirt. The 6th Grade volleyball program focuses on skill development and is an introduction to volleyball. The program will help prepare participants for the Jr. High level of competition. Practice dates and time will vary depending on the preference of the head coach. Home games are played at Nash and travel to away games is provided by OCUSD buses. Tryouts may be required if the max number of participants is reached. A volunteer coach is needed for this team. Please contact lesley@ oregonpark.org if interested.

Junior High athletes will develop endurance, improve their running technique, and build team camaraderie. Practices will be held multiple days of the week and meets will be held similar to the high school schedule. Transportation to meets is not provided. Pickleball is often described as a mixture of ping-pong, tennis, and badminton, all played on a mini tennis court with an oversized paddle and a ball similar to a wiffle ball. This game is fast, fun, and addictive. Reservations are required and each hour reservation is limited to adults 16 participants per time slot. Paddles and pickleballs must be checked out from the Front Counter to make sure that all materials have been properly disinfected.

Recreational softball is back at Park West! This league is designed for men and women to enjoy slow-pitch softball through friendly competition. Bats will be provided by the park district for each team to use. The league will consist of a regular season, and a postseason tournament to end the year. This fun new camp is for kids who want to explore improvisation while learning to play more interactive games in a fun structured setting. Everyone, young old, seems to enjoy Bingo and we appreciate that all proceeds benefit the District's Youth Scholarship Fund. Flamingo Bingo will look a little different this summer as participants must register for a table in advance for a time slot to help us control participation numbers and social distancing. The Oregon Park District Children’s Center program will help prepare your child for kindergarten as they learn to interact with their peers. All program supplies are included in the monthly payment. Drive Thru Summer Meals Masks Required

Oregon Park District has partnered with Oregon United Methodist Church and River Stone Christian Church to offer summer breakfasts and lunches Monday-Friday. Meals will be provided through the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Meals will be picked up drive-thru style, Monday-Friday at Mix Park from 12-1 p.m. Meals are for anyone 18 and younger but they don’t need to be present. Anyone over 18 can request any number of meals. Boxes will include a breakfast and lunch. Masks will be required and social distancing guidelines will be adhered to. PACK WALKS Dogs need to explore just as much as they need food and water. Join us as we explore local parks while working on indirect socialization and confidence building with our furry friends. This is a safe environment to indirectly socialize and exercise your dog among others. Dogs must be at least 6 months of age.

WIGGLY WAG & WALK/HOUND HIKE Dog lovers are invited to join us for the 8th Annual Wiggly Wag and Walk Wednesday, September 16. This is a FREE evening of entertainment and fun with your dog! Meet the pet vendors (shop a little too), see demonstrations, check out Wiggly Field and enjoy dinner at the park - a hot dog, of course! There is also an optional Hound Hike, which is a walk at Park West with a couple checkpoints along the way for dogs to play games and enjoy refreshments. Participants must be registered for the Hound Hike ($5 per dog). Upon arrival at the event, all dogs will be checked for their Rabies vaccination which is required. Vendors will be set up outside Wiggly Field (no membership tag required for dogs). Vendor booths will be available to purchase on a first come first serve basis. Officially opened in July 2012, Wiggly Field Dog Park is the first off-leash dog park operated by the Oregon Park District. The dog park is a 1 acre fenced off-leash area with two separate entrances and exits for safety. The first area is an open running area and the second is an agility training area. The park offers water fountains for people and dogs. Wiggly Field off-leash dog park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Agility equipment will be removed during the winter months and brought back in the spring. We ask all owners to have fun, but be responsible. All users and dogs must have a permit. To renew your current dog park permit or purchase a new one, plesae call Nash Recreation Center (815)732-3101. Proof of rabies vaccination is required upon registering. The Oregon Park District offers scholarships to all OCUSD students for reduced program rates according to financial need. Application forms are available at Nash Recreation Center or online at www.oregonpark. org. Applicants for scholarships are not guaranteed program registration or choice of program location. Scholarship fund availability cannot be guaranteed.

The Oregon Park District is happy to comply with the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you need special accommodations (such as an interpreter or physical assistance), please call the Oregon Park District (TDD or Voice) two weeks in advance so that we may make the necessary arrangements for you.

Donate a tree in memory of a loved one. You can choose the type of tree and park location. Contact the Park District for more information about this program.

LOST & FOUND Lost and found articles are kept a maximum of 30 days and then donated to charitable organizations. If you think you or a family member may have lost something in one of our parks or facilities, please call or visit Nash Recreation Center.

PHOTO POLICY The Oregon Park District and/or professional photographers under contract may videotape or take photographs of participants in Park District activities, classes, programs, or parks. These photographs and videotapes are used for future recreation guides, brochures, Facebook and other marketing materials.

NIGHT FISHING PERMITS

ELITE PACERS CLUB

You can now fish at night in Oregon Park District parks by purchasing a required Night Fishing Permit. To purchase a permit, please call Nash Recreation Center (815)732-3101. Permits are $20.00 and are valid through the end of the calendar year.

SOCIAL MEDIA Find the Oregon Park District on Facebook and like our page. Stay up-to-date with daily posts and reminders. Share your photos from events, facilities, and parks on social media via #OregonParkDistrict.

MILITARY POLICY Military home on active duty, their resident family members during military tours and wounded warriors will have access to Nash Recreation Center at no charge. Proof of miltary status must be provided. In addition, Wounded Warriors must provide documentation of their status as a veteran disabled during service.
