Monthly Billing

Sibling Discount

The Oregon Park District now offers a sibling discount of 10% off the regular fee for each additional child enrolled in a program where one child has already enrolled at full price in the same session. This discount is not available when registering online.

Registration Information

Fall / Winter Registration Begins August 30 See below for details.

Annual Pass Holders

Annual pass holders will be allowed to register on Thursday, August 30. Resident annual pass holders will begin registration at 7:00 am and non-resident annual pass holders will follow at 9:00 am. Registration on August 30 can only be submitted by members of your immediate family.

Class Changes

The Oregon Park District may cancel, postpone, combine classes, or change instructors. Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment and refunds will be issued. All participants will be notified of any scheduling changes or cancellations.

Waiver Policy

Non-Annual Pass

The Oregon Park District requires all class participants and pass holders to sign a waiver release form. Waivers will be signed and kept on file at Nash Recreation Center. Your registration is not considered complete until a signed waiver is on file.

Holders

Registration for non-annual pass holders will begin on Friday, August 31. Residents will begin at 7:30 am, followed by non-residents at 8:30 am.

Residency

ID is required for proof of residency or a nonresident fee will be charged. A resident is an individual living in or owning real estate within the boundaries of the Oregon Park District. All Oregon School District students participating in youth team sports are considered residents.

Fees

Fees must be paid at the time of registration by cash, check, or credit card. The first fee listed is the rate for Oregon Park District residents. The second fee is for non-residents. No registrations or rentals will be accepted without the proper payment.

Online registrations will be accepted starting Saturday, September 1. Mail-in Registration – Send your payment and signed registration form to Oregon Park District, P.O. Box 237, Oregon, IL, 61061. Please remember to include a check or Visa/MasterCard number and expiration date. The Park District is not responsible for mail-in registrations not received. Fax-in Registration – Fax a signed registration form to (815)732-3736. Please remember to include a Visa/MasterCard number and expiration date. *Family: Persons must reside in the same household. Each household is limited to two adults with the exception of full-time students between the ages of 18 and 24. An unlimited number of persons 17 and under can be included under a family membership.

Passes & Daily Fees

A Nash Recreation Center pass or daily fee allows patrons to use the pool and whirlpool (during scheduled hours), gym, and fitness center.

Racquetball & Wallyball

Racquetball court rental is included in the annual pass fee and is $3.00/hour for non-annual pass holders. Wallyball court rental is $5.00/hour.

Specials

$1.00 Fridays/Sundays at Nash! The daily fee for everyone is only $1.00. Fridays till October 5, and Sundays starting October 14.

Group Reservations

Groups of 15 or more will receive a 10% discount on daily fees if reservations are made at least 10 days in advance. Contact the Oregon Park District for reservation information and details about areas that would best suit your needs.

Corporate Memberships

The Oregon Park District offers four corporate membership options for resident and non-resident companies. For more information call (815)732-3101.

Lockers

The Oregon Park District has lockers available for rental to annual pass holders for the term of the pass. The resident fee is $60.00 and non-resident fee is $75.00.

Mt. Morris Village Residents

Mt. Morris Village residents can register for all programs, memberships, facility rentals, and daily fees at the Oregon Park District resident rate. Additional non-resident fees are subsidized by the Village of Mt. Morris.

Automatic Monthly Payment Option

This is a convenient way to pay for your pass and selected programs. The automatic debit monthly fees are shown above. With your permission, automatic credit card charges will be made each month. The first amount is the initial payment that will be made when registering, followed by the amount of 10 equal payments to be charged on the 15th of each month.

Gift Cards

Gift certificates are available for passes as well as our many programs. For more information, inquire at Nash.

Nash Fitness Center

The Nash Fitness Center is over 6,000 square feet and features a three lane rubberized track that surrounds our CYBEX strength training machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Our friendly Fitness Center staff is available to set up an orientation for any and all users looking to begin a fitness routine.

Age Restrictions

Children under the age of 5 are welcome to use the gym and pool area free of charge but must be accompanied by a parent or responsible person, 11 years or older. Participants must be 7th grade or older to use the Nash Fitness Center and 9th grade or older to use the free weights.

Health Clearance

All users are asked to fill out a health history form. Anyone with prior health problems may be asked to obtain a doctor’s release before being permitted to work out. All health forms and doctor’s clearance forms are kept confidential.

Pool Information

Nash Recreation Center Pool

The Nash pool features stairs to a 3 foot bay area attached to a 25 meter 6 lane pool. The deepest area is 10 feet. The pool is equipped with a new handicap chair lift to assist patrons in and out of the pool. After your workout you can enjoy the 13 person hot tub with both high and low jets.

Multi-Use Swim

Multi-use swim is open to all ages, however, children are to be accompanied by an adult. Patrons may swim laps, play in the bay area, water jog in the deep end, or enjoy time in the hot tub. Swim lessons are scheduled during this time and will have first priority for pool use. Please be aware that areas of the pool may not be available.

Open Swim

All areas of the pool are open for use, including our diving board and basketball hoop. Pool toys are allowed in the pool at the discretion of the aquatic staff.

Lap Swim

Six lap lanes will be available for swimmers 7th grade or older. Swimming 32 laps is a one mile workout.

Hot Tub Hours

The hot tub is available for use during lap swim, open swim, and multi-use swim. The hot tub can also be used during swim lessons, water aerobics, and twinges classes. You must be in high school or older to use the hot tub.

Water Exercise

8 StarGuard Class Ages 16 years & Up

StarGuard is a nationally recognized lifeguard training program that teaches the skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Candidates will receive hands-on training with actual equipment and realistic situations. Upon completion of a skills test and written test, participants will receive a certification in lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, and prevention of disease transmission. Attendance is mandatory and you must be 16 years of age upon completion of the course. Students are required to pass a water test on the first day of class and will not be allowed to continue the course without passing.

Kettlebell Fitness with Lana Ages 18 years & Up

Both men and women are invited to join this challenging non-stop workout! Originating in Russia, a kettlebell is a centuriesold training tool that looks like a cannon ball with a handle. Kettlebell training is different than other forms of weight training because many parts of the body are exercised simultaneously, and, in addition, kettlebell training elevates the heart rate for effective cardiovascular training. Kettlebell training will build long lean muscles, improve strength and power in the upper body, core and lower body and increase coordination, joint mobility and overall endurance. Players practice on Wednesday evenings and Sundays when the team does not compete in a Sunday tournament. 5+ Tournaments for each age group are held at the Blackhawk Center on Sundays and draw teams from Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin at times. Hawk Wrestling is an IKWF program for wrestlers of all skill levels. It is run by coaches affiliated with the OHS wrestling program. This is to promote the sport of wrestling to the youth in the community and provide a great experience in the process. Practices are held at the OHS wrestling room on Mondays and Thursdays for all ages. An additional practice for advanced participants 9 years and older will be held on Wednesdays beginning the second week. Students who have mastered Beginning/Novice tumbling and are ready for the next step will continue to perfect their beginning skills while adding a new set of skills to their workout. Extended Time

This fantastic before and after school program is designed for students in grades K - 6. Youth participate in supervised recreational activities with experienced staff. Activities include organized games, arts & crafts, peer interaction and even homework. Children meet at the Blackhawk Center ET Room immediately after school. Breakfast is provided at the before school program. A daily snack is provided at the after school program. Days follow the Oregon School District calendar. Fees are paid monthly. Dog Training Classes @ Wiggly Field

The goals of these classes are to create a stronger bond between you and your dog that will last a lifetime and to give you a better understanding of your dog and its behavior. Obedience is the key to a happy, healthy relationship between you and your dog. Please be prepared to verify that your canines are up to date with vaccinations. Please bring a collar, leash, your dog’s favorite toy, and a small bag of treats to each class. Classes will meet at the dog park in Park West. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Beginning and Intermediate/Advanced Obedience will be held at the same time. Groups will be separated according to skill level.

Beginning Obedience

From puppies (8 weeks) to adult dogs, this class is great for first time dog owners. This class will teach you how to interact with your dog and how to start teaching your dog basic positioning such as sit, down, stay, come, heel, along with many other commands that will make life easier with your dog.

Intermediate/Advanced Obedience

For dogs and handlers with a basic understanding of positioning and manners, this class will teach proper heeling and stabilizing along with basic positions such as sit, down, heel, come, etc. This class will also help canines and handlers prepare for their CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certificate certified by the AKC.

Agility Training

This training will be fun for the dog and the handler alike! This class will not only teach agility, but prepare the dog for future agility competitions (if desired). Build-A-Birdhouse Contest

If you enjoy birds, woodworking, friendly competition and need a fun winter project, this contest is for you. Design your own bird house or create one from an existing pattern. Cut and assemble your house and embellish if you choose. Specific Contest Rules are available at Nash Recreation Center or at www.oregonpark.org. Judging will take place in the spring and the bird houses will be on display at Nash and at Merlin’s Spring Open House. Some houses may be chosen by the OPD Parks Dept to be on display and for use in the parks.

Facebook Fall Fun Scavenger Challenge Grades - All

Familiarize yourself with the Oregon Park District parks and facilities. During the month of October, your family can play our facebook scavenger challenge and possibly win a family fun gift basket. Check out the Oregon Park District facebook page each Friday in October (posts made around 10 a.m.) and check out our latest OPD clue. Your family can work together to decipher the clues and visit the place where the clue is telling you to go. You will be directed to take a picture at the mystery location (proof that you found it), and submit the photo via facebook or email by the following Tuesday. For every correct find, your family’s name will be entered in the drawing for the Family Fun Gift Basket (on display at Nash). This is a great family activity which will encourage team work, communication, fun, adventure, and the opportunity to become a friend of the Oregon Park District on facebook.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS CONTEST Enter your family’s home and/or a friend, neighbor’s, co-workers home in the 4th annual holiday lights home decorating contest. Oregon Park District Party Rentals Party Like A Sports Star

If you want to have a fun-filled sports party then this is definitely the party you want to throw! Your party will take place at the Blackhawk Center. It will include two hours of sports where you can hit baseballs/softballs in the batting cages, play badminton, and play tennis. You can even play basketball where our Oregon teams play. The room that you will be in also has a refrigerator in it for your food and beverages. The rental fee includes up to 30 people. Contact the Athletic Facility Manager for more information. Wii Gaming Party

Have your next group outing or birthday party at the Oregon Park District! Up to 15 guests will enjoy our Wii interactive virtual video games that you control by running, kicking, throwing, or jumping. One of our gaming instructors will serve as your virtual guide and host. An array of games will be provided or you can bring your own. Parties must be booked at least two weeks in advance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Oregon Coliseum

District Information

The City of Oregon has partnered with the Oregon Park District for management purposes of the Oregon Coliseum. The Oregon Park District is excited to offer an additional rental facility to the community that will be accompanied by the same great service our patrons are accustomed to. The facility will be host to many Oregon Park District activities and events and will be available to patrons for family reunions, special meetings, wedding receptions, and other gatherings. Oregon Park District. The Ruby Nash Museum contains many Ogle County historical collections including artifacts, books, maps, and photos. The Museum is open for tours on Thursdays from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (year round) and on Sundays from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (April - October). Admission is free.

The Oregon Park District proudly supports Forward Oregon. This not-for-profit organization strives to give Oregon area residents the best quality of life through promoting business, tourism, education, and instilling pride in the community for its parks and heritage.

Enjoy a scenic walk through the parks while enjoying nature’s winged friends. Each bird location features a bird habitat structure that simulates the bird’s natural habitat. Pick up your guide at Nash Recreation Center.

Lost & Found

The Oregon Park District and/or professional photographers under contract may videotape or take photographs of participants in Park District activities, classes, programs, or parks. These photographs and videotapes are used for future recreation guides and brochures.

The Oregon Park District is happy to comply with the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you need special accommodations (such as an interpreter or physical assistance), please call the Oregon Park District (TDD or Voice) two weeks in advance so that we may make the necessary arrangements for you. Lost and found articles are kept a maximum of 60 days and then donated to charitable organizations. If you think you or a family member may have lost something in one of our parks or facilities, please call or visit Nash Recreation Center.

Scholarship Program

The Oregon Park District believes that every child should have an opportunity to participate in recreational programs regardless of financial hardship. For this reason, the Oregon Park District offers scholarships to Park District residents for reduced program rates according to financial need. Application forms are available at Nash Recreation Center or online at www.oregonpark.org. Applicants for scholarships are not guaranteed program registration or choice of program location. Scholarship fund availability cannot be guaranteed.

Photo Policy

FREE Rental Of Fishing Equipment

Would you like to go fishing but lack the equipment? The Oregon Park District has partnered with Rock River Outfitters to offer sport fishing equipment through the IDNR. Fishing rods, reels, and tackle are available to borrow at Rock River Outfitters, 114 N. River Road, Oregon.

Night Fishing Permits

You can now fish at night in Oregon Park District Parks by purchasing a required Night Fishing Permit. Permits are available at Nash for $20.00 and are valid thru 12/31/12.

‘Wiggly Field’ Dog Park

Officially opened in July 2012, Wiggly Field Dog Park is the first off-leash dog park operated by the Oregon Park District. The dog park is a 1 acre fenced off-leash area with two separate entries for safety. The park is divided into two separate areas. The first is an open running area and the second is an agility training area. The park offers water fountains for people and dogs. Wiggly Field off-leash dog park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. We ask all owners to have fun, but be responsible. All users and dogs must have a permit. Please stop by Nash Recreation Center to get a permit and receive the rules and regulations.

District Information

If you log 1,000 miles in our Fitness Center by the end of October, 2013, you will receive an Elite Pacers Club T-shirt. After your workout, simply fill out one of our Pacers Club cards and drop it in the box. We will then enter your workout information into our computer. All miles and/or time will be converted into bike miles. The totals will be posted every Monday. If you are a new member, please ask the fitness supervisor on duty and they will explain how to record your miles.

Geocaching (geo-cashing) is an environmentally friendly outdoor recreational activity for families or individuals alike. This outdoor treasure hunting game involves searching for hidden objects using clues and GPS (global positioning system) coordinates. There are 10 geocaches strategically placed within and near the Oregon Park District’s parks and facilities. Enjoy learning and taking in the beauty of these destinations while on your real life treasure hunt for geocaches! You will need a www.geocaching.com membership, a GPS device or a GPS-enabled mobile phone so you can navigate to a cache, a pen or pencil to sign the cache log, and you may want to bring an exchangeable treasure!
