To amplify the community-focused projects Oregon Lodges are involved in, Creating A Partnership aims to make a bigger impact on the recipients and community. The Grand Lodge offers 50 percent reimbursement, repaying fifty cents for every dollar a Lodge extends in support. There are two categories of beneficiaries that qualify Lodges for fund reimbursement:

Lodges received matching-funds to support local communities.
SALEM - Identification kits for child safety were provided during fire department event.
THE DALLES - A sensory table and other learning tools are available for local youth.
PORTLAND - The D.A.R.E. program received supplies to support student participation.
Scholarships play a vital role in shaping youth’s future, ensuring access to quality education, regardless of personal financial circumstances. They also foster ambition and dedication, investing in a generation of leaders, thinkers, and change-makers who contribute to society’s advancement.
With this support, college sophomore Kalel competed in the 2022 USA National Youth Climbing event. In his debut season, he faced top contenders, many aspiring to participate at the Olympic level. Such competitions empower youth through skill development, confidence building, and enhanced prospects for future success.
Although he didn’t secure first place, Kalel persists in his climbing endeavors and even instructs local youth at the

Since 2009, MasonicAid has offered steady assistance to our members and their families in times of need. MasonicAid seeks to support quality of life for worthy and distressed Oregon Master Masons, their wives, widows and children, and female members of the Oregon Order of the Eastern Star.
We proudly offer the following services (subject to eligibility):
Clients work with a MasonicAid case manager to help streamline the process and ensure they understand the best solutions available to them.
MasonicAid can provide funding to assist members with health and household needs in their own homes and communities. We may also be able to offer a financial subsidy for those living in a retirement community.
The costs for medical, vision, or dental services and equipment can be overwhelming. Funds are available to lighten the cost of care for children and dependents through age 21.
“Thank you so very much for your kindness. I have tears in my eyes. This is the nicest thing that has happened to us in a long time. We can finally get caught up and get on the right track.”

Afford the lifestyle you choose - help is available at home or in a retirement community.
Aid is available to help cover orthodontia costs for the children of Masonic Families.
Wheelchairs are just one form of medical equipment MasonicAid can help provide.
As former members of the Masonic & Eastern Star Home Board, Past Grand Matrons Anne Ingalls and Penny MacKinnon reflect on the long-standing aspiration, “Wouldn’t it be nice to have help for our members wherever they are!?” With program expansion since their times
on the board, 1996 and 2002 respectively, that is exactly what has happened. “There are so many ways MasonicAid can help!”
What was once limited to residence at the Home in Forest Grove has evolved significantly, now encompassing a wide array of services designed to cater to individuals of diverse age and need. Services include navigation of Veteran and Medicaid benefits, help with rent & utility bills during a hardship, or the
cost of a child’s orthodontia or medical supplies. Now, more than ever, members of the Oregon Masonic Family can find assistance and care, no matter where they are or what the situation may be.
Since 1851, Freemasons have diligently set aside funds to ensure the well-being of today’s Masonic Family. We invite you to contact one of our friendly case managers and learn how MasonicAid might serve you and your loved ones!

To support our community and local schools, Oregon Freemasonry partners with Fox12 News to honor a Classroom of the Month and invite the public to nominate those in need of supplies and support at www.KPTV.com/classroom. Throughout the school year, recipients are selected from those nominations and awarded $1,000 in supplies of their choice, typically from a wish list.
Local Freemasons are invited to participate in the presentation of these supplies. Fox12 films the presentations to air across digital and television platforms, helping share the good works of Freemasonry and build relationships and rapport.
Without fail, the recipients are humbled by the award and often child-like themselves in picking out all the new tools and supplies for their students. It’s a great opportunity to fill the gap for classrooms in need and support those who diligently invest in children.
“I am so thankful for the Oregon Freemasons recognizing teachers and the things they do. I truly am very thankful to them for doing this for us!”
“Education is a cornerstone of our future. It is about our children. Masonry is about building stronger communities. I was proud to be part of [this]. I just hope that the gratitude that we have for the work that [teachers] do is felt.”
- W.B. Scott Derickson$9,000
In 2022, we provided more than in school supplies to support local classrooms and students.
Sensory and fidget tools support participation, focus, and engagement for all grades.
Father and son duo represented both Freemasonry and DeMolay in the presentation.
New “window books” provided young readers a way to see the world from different view.
Giveaway Participant, Woodburn LodgeWith basic supplies like notebooks and pencils, young learners can discover their own potential and the world around them. These tools help dreams take shape, one drawing and word at a time. That’s why the response is so positive when the Classroom of the Month is presented with $1,000 in
classroom supplies from their own wish list.
When notified of this award, Ms. Larisa Masson of Cedar Park Middle School asked her 6th grade students, “What do you think would be useful or would make this classroom better?” They chose fidget tools to help with their focus and learning.
A reported 47%* of students are less distracted using fidget tools, providing a tactile outlet and channel for restless energy, allowing them to focus in class.
When access to these and other supplies is universal, it encourages independence and confidence in the students, especially in districts with high poverty levels.
Ms. Masson was very grateful for the support, expressing that “Putting the spotlight on education and the kids is always important. I appreciate there’s a group that is willing to support that and donate. Thank you, Oregon Freemasons!”
YOU PUT SUPPLIES IN THE HANDS OF STUDENTS AND HELPED THEM SUCCEED

students benefited from the support provided to their families.
As our longest-standing program, Educational Assistance has benefitted the children and grandchildren of Oregon Master Masons since 1950. Specifically, financial assistance is provided to help families struggling to make ends meet while children are in public schools (K-12) and post-high school, through age 22.
Student success is of utmost importance, prompting this offering to help pay for school supplies, tuition, and even utilities and rent if the child lives at home. Need-based support is coordinated through the Grand Lodge office with help from the associated District Deputy and Lodge.
Through this collaboration, 21 families were helped during the 2022-2023 school year. Our members should take pride in the impact they have made and will continue to leave on the lives of these students and families.
This program meets members of the Masonic Family where they’re at when hardship or needs arise, supporting the educational success of their children and grandchildren. Every family deserves the peace of mind that comes with knowing their children’s well-being won’t be compromised by soaring costs, ensuring that no difficult decisions need to be made. Below are messages from benefitting families: (names changed for privacy)
“Thank you so much for the opportunity and aid in this very trying year.”
“Thanks so much for the financial support. First of all, the kids are doing great. Mary has had straight A grades for two quarters in a row.
Kyle is doing great in school as well with good grades...and hopes to play baseball in the spring too. Thanks for everything you guys do.”
Through this support, food and clothing needs are met regardless of inflated prices.
Funds can help secure a roof overhead, giving participating families peace of mind.
Healthy pastimes like sports can cost families an average of $700 per child annually.
While the numbers presented in this publication focus on assistance provided to our members, their families and communities, it is important to note that funds were also distributed to maintain our Masonic history.
Grants are available to any Oregon Lodge up to $10,000 annually, provided in the form of matching funds to support improvements and ensure longevity of Lodge buildings. This has enabled Lodges to finally conduct work that has been on hold for decades. Masonic buildings are more than just a meeting place, they are a beacon of the history and brotherhood of Freemasonry - worthy of conservation.
In 2022, more than
$140,000
was provided directly to Lodges to maintain our Masonic history.
