2020 was a year like no other, presenting some of the most difficult challenges our society has faced in recent history. Overnight, the COVID-19 pandemic raged throughout the world, amplifying the importance of our charitable work. Our team pivoted to remote workspaces and directed their energies to support our members needing assistance amid shutdowns, lost jobs, forest fires, and other critical situations. We prioritized the health of our members and communities, utilizing tools and resources developed in response to those needs. Highlighted within this Impact Report, you will see our work is driven by the challenges, successes, and shared experiences of our members. When we come together, learn from, and support one another, we truly are stronger. In this way, Oregon Freemasonry remains steadfast - as it has always been across our 170-year history. We are excited to share this report and invite you to celebrate our collective accomplishments and hope you will collaborate with us on the important journey ahead. Since 2009, MasonicAid has offered steady assistance to our members and their families in times of need. MasonicAid seeks to support quality of life for worthy and distressed Oregon Master Masons, their wives, widows and children, and female members of the Oregon Order of the Eastern Star. We proudly offer the following services (subject to eligibility):

YOU BROUGHT PEACE AND QUALITY CARE TO MASONIC FAMILY MEMBERS IN NEED When living at home is no longer practical for elderly members of the Masonic Family, the MasonicAid Subsidy Program is here to assist. Amid increased healthcare needs, financial insecurity, or loss of income, we are a trusted partner to
help clients age respectfully in the retirement community of their choice, statewide. Long-time client Marjorie faced a challenge when sadly, her husband passed. Having a reduction in income, she was concerned about getting by, especially with rising healthcare costs. She did not want to burden her family, so she made the decision to apply for, and was accepted to, the MasonicAid Subsidy Program.
Since then, she has faced health challenges but no longer worries about making ends meet. She is surrounded by friends and friendly caregivers. She is very grateful to be part of the program and her family feels assured, knowing she will be cared for. We're thrilled to help Marjorie and others like her!

To amplify the community-focused projects Oregon Lodges are involved in, Creating A Partnership (CAP) aims to make a bigger impact on the recipients and community. The Grand Lodge offers 50 percent reimbursement, repaying fifty cents for every dollar a Lodge extends in support. There are two categories of beneficiaries that qualify Lodges for fund reimbursement:

KIDS ACCESS TECHNOLOGY
YOU'VE SHOWN SUPPORT AND CARE TO LOCAL STUDENTS AND SCHOOLS Supporting schools is a respectable endeavor but adapting when a pandemic shifts public school needs and paradigm - that is something to truly applaud and emulate. Bend Lodge No. 139 did just that when the long-standing support of
the Bikes-for-Books program no longer fit the needs of the community. “With all of the issues associated with COVID-19, we were not able to get bicycles, so we switched to Kindlesfor-Books and have had great success and the program has become even more popular,” reports Lodge Master, W.B. John Nerski. “Thanks to the matching funds from Creating A Partnership, we were able to provide 20 Kindles to support local students in partnership
with the Deschutes County Library. This is another great example of Masonic charity and helps us get the word out about Freemasonry to the community.” It is this sort of dedication that, over the far-reaching history of Oregon Freemasonry, creates a ripple of lasting impact in the lives of others. For over twenty years, Oregon Freemasons have supported MMSAP to equip educators to work as a team to support students they believe are "at risk," facing depression, chemical dependency, abuse, etc. Early and effective intervention with students demonstrating patterns of negative behavior gives the student the greatest chance of success in school. The typical 3-day in-person sessions were adjusted to a virtual platform in response to the pandemic. MMSAP welcomes staff working with grades K-12, including administrators, teachers, school nurses, and guidance counselors. The training focuses on identification, assessment, and parent partnerships to create a plan to improve areas of struggle (what is not working) and fully utilize existing assets and skills of the student (what is working).

EDUCATORS SUCCEED
YOU ENABLED TEACHERS TO EMPOWER AND LEAD STUDENTS TOWARD SUCCESS This school year required an enormous amount of flexibility due to the pandemic. Educators had to reinvent the way they interact with students while stay-at-home orders were in place. As schools pivoted, the Masonic Model Student Assistance
Program chose to adjust its offerings too. Through the lens of virtual training, educators collaborated online to gain knowledge, tools, and prevention and intervention techniques to help students facing new or familiar difficulties. By preparing teachers, students are more supported when facing behavioral issues, learning disabilities, substance abuse, or home and food insecurities. The pandemic has certainly presented some complications
and now teachers are better equipped to help students overcome hurdles to achieve personal and educational success. “Many thanks for sponsoring this conference. students benefited from the support provided to their families. As our longest-standing program, Educational Assistance has benefitted the children and grandchildren of Oregon Master Masons since 1950. Specifically, financial assistance is provided to help families struggling to make ends meet while children are in public schools (K-12) and post-high school, through age 22. Student success is of utmost importance, prompting this offering to help pay for school supplies, tuition, and even utilities and rent if the child lives at home. Need-based support is coordinated through the Grand Lodge office with help from the associated District Deputy and Lodge. Through this collaboration, 23 families were helped during the 2020-2021 school year. Our members should take pride in the impact they have made and will continue to leave on the lives of these students and Masonic families.

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE This program meets members of the Masonic Family where they're at when hardship or needs arise, supporting the educational success of their children and grandchildren. Below are a few messages from beneficiaries:

School supplies and clothing are often the needs met through this support.
Students are able to engage in field trips, sports and clubs when they otherwise couldn't.
LODGE RESTORATION & REPAIR GRANTS While the numbers presented in this publication focus on assistance provided to our members, their families and communities, it is important to note that funds were also distributed to maintain our Masonic history. Grants are available to any Oregon Lodge up to $10,000 annually, provided in the form of matching funds to support improvements and ensure longevity of Lodge buildings. This has enabled Lodges to finally conduct work that has been on hold for decades. Masonic buildings are more than just a meeting place, they are a beacon of the history and brotherhood of Freemasonry - worthy of conservation. In 2020, over

To support our community and local schools, Oregon Freemasonry partners with Fox12 News to honor a Classroom of the Month and invite the public to nominate those in need of supplies and support. Throughout the school year, classrooms are selected from those nominations and awarded $1,000 in supplies of their choice. Local Freemasons are invited to participate in the presentation of these supplies, either in person (pre-pandemic) or online via Zoom. Fox12 films the presentations to air across digital and television platforms, helping share the good works of Freemasonry and build relationships and rapport.

Understandably, many families, businesses, and communities have been severely impacted. In an effort to help Oregon Freemasons and their families through turbulent times, resources and financial assistance are available through this relief fund. Needs of all kinds may arise, but whether it's help with medical costs, rent, groceries, or utility payments - do not hesitate to submit a request for assistance.
