How do you want to change the world?
What are you proud to have been involved with at University of Oregon?
I hope to change the world by conducting novel deep-sea marine science and producing pieces of science communication that inspire and educate the public about the environment.
I am nearly done working on my undergraduate honors thesis. At times it has been a daunting task because I had never done such a large-scale independent research project before. It was and is my responsibility to develop an understanding of the existing literature, collect and interpret my own data, and write a scientific paper.
Who is your biggest role model and why?
Which fictional character is most like yourself?
What are your goals after college?
What is one fun fact about you?
My biggest supporter has always been my mom, Kathy Reddick. No matter how many times I change my postgraduation plans, how far I might end up for a job or school, or how few times I can drive home to help with her computer issues my mom is always right beside me. If I ever need a confidence boost, all I need to do is hear how highly she speaks about me to her coworkers and friends.
I am most like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. I am always up for an adventure, always bouncing around, and always looking to make my friends laugh. On the downside, I often overcommit myself as I look for more incredible opportunities!
I plan to take a gap year for a break from academia. Then, I plan to pursue my masters in marine biology.
I swam with sea lions and sea turtles in the Galapagos while studying abroad!

How do you want to change the world?
What are you proud to have been involved with at University of Oregon?
I want to change the world by continuing to grow and evolve myself. I will follow my heart and passions in order to best serve those in my community. I hope to continue to grow in my leadership, compassion, and determinism to inspire others to do the same. I want to help people achieve any goal they set, and despite any adversity they may face.
I am proud of my involvement with the Warsaw Sports Business Club. I was able to achieve my goal of sharing the sport industry with other like-minded individuals and prepared members for their careers. I am also proud of my involvement with the Oregon Athletics Ambassador program. I was able to help students get their first real-world experience in sports operations and help our coaches and staff here at UO.

My mother has always been an inspiration. She is someone that has persevered countless times, and never stops serving others. She gives her best efforts to all those around her and always strives to do the right thing. Her love and encouragement is something I am blessed with.
I look physically nothing like this person, but I’d say Captain America. We both take immense pride in where we are from and embrace the underdog mentality. He is kind and empathetic, despite great loss in his past. He is an optimist that does not back down from challenges. Those are all traits I see in myself and continue to improve on. (Plus, I love Marvel so it obviously had to be an Avenger).
Upon my graduation from UO, I will be joining the NCAA as an Executive Affairs intern. I hope to work in sports, either collegiate or professional, and support athletes in the best way possible. I believe sports are a powerful tool that break barriers and defy stereotypes. My goal after college is to leverage sports in a way that provides equal opportunities for all.
I’m from El Paso, Texas and I decided to attend UO on a complete gut-decision! I had never set foot in the state of Oregon or the PNW. I followed my dreams and enrolled anyways! My first time on campus was for my orientation.

I became a journalist so I can elevate the voices that are often unheard. I want to change how the world views underrepresented individuals and give them a voice they may not have had otherwise.
I am very proud to have been part of the Daily Emerald newspaper and the Student Voice. I am so thankful for everyone I worked with and will miss both organizations dearly.

How do you want to change the world?
What are you proud to have been involved with at University of Oregon?
I work with kids, and I hope that I can change the world by setting a good example for them. It is important that I show them kindness, respect, and care. This applies to interpersonal relationships and interactions, but also respect for the planet.
One of the things I’m most proud of is holding the position of mental health chair in my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. I am so proud to have this position and to work with the chapter towards creating a safe space to talk and educate. Reducing the stigma of mental health issues in the Greek life community is something that is very important to me, and being able to directly contribute to that is special.

My biggest supporters over the past year have been my parents. They have really helped me and supported me through turbulent times. They are my biggest cheerleaders and give great advice. I think we have gotten closer since I’ve been in college, and I’m so grateful for them both.
I think I’m pretty similar to Jess from New Girl. She is passionate and loyal, and cares deeply for others, but is also a little eccentric.
I will graduate this spring, and plan to take a gap year and work. In this next year, I will apply to graduate programs for Psychology. Careerwise, I would like to work in the clinical field.
When I was in 3rd grade, a friend and I emailed Koko the gorilla (the gorilla who used sign language). We were big fans. Koko (or Koko’s keepers) sent us back a whole package of things, including pictures and a clip of art that Koko had done. I still think it is so cool and funny that the keepers took time out of their schedules to write back to two excited 2nd graders.

How do you want to change the world?
What are your goals after college?
I hope to make an impact on the way business and accountants are viewed around the world. I plan to change the world by making a lasting effect on the people I encounter while learning from the experiences I spend with others. I also hope to innovate the world of public accounting to be more open to diversity and sustainability practices to create a work culture driven by differences rather than uniformity.
My goal is to have an international career allowing me to travel the globe potentially in financial services but open to various career paths within accounting.
Who is your biggest role model and why?
What are you proud to have been involved with at University of Oregon?
My biggest supporter has been my mother as cheesy as it sounds. She is a strong, driven, dedicated woman who has been my rock through the past couple of years. I love being able to talk with her from the minor details of a horrid test to fun talks about clothes and vacations. She has helped put situations into a frustrating, new perspective that has allowed me many times to calm down and rationalize. Her best starting line of advice is, “Do you want me to fix, listen, or advise” allowing me to think about what I need in the moment. I have started applying this advice outside our chats to determine how to proceed in present moments.
I am proud to have been involved in ASUO. Being a part of the senate legislature representing Accounting and Business Administration majors has been challenging many times over the year but so impactful toward my development. ASUO as an organization brings together a group of diverse students to make important decisions regarding finances and programs we want to see on campus. It truly has been a huge learning curve for me but I have gained new friends, relationship skills, financial applications, and patience. As I step down from this position I look forward to seeing what programs the next ASUO officers will come forward with.

How do you want to change the world?
What are you proud to have been involved with at University of Oregon?
I hope one day the work I create will inspire younger generations to feel comfortable in their skin. Across differences and experience, I want to see a day where people can simply talk with the intention to understand and resolve. I see arts and cultural movements as significant and beautiful ways in accomplishing this.
I am extremely proud and grateful to have been involved at the Holden Center. I’ve grown immensely as a community member alongside so many others and it completely changed my undergrad experience. The creative writing and storytelling spaces on campus I’ve been involved with, such as the KIDD Workshop and Intertwined, hold a near and dear place in my heart as well.

Which fictional character is most like yourself?

What is one fun fact about you?
My biggest supporter this past year and most recent role model as I navigated the uncertainties of post-grad and post-quarantine is definitely my significant other with their unapologetic quirks and teaching me how to love others for the first time. As a woman who’s been victim to domestic abuse, finding a partner and learning how to slowly trust someone allowed me to face trauma and find strength in survivorship.
I really resonate with Poison Ivy as an anti-hero with a force for chaotic good. I have a deep passion for environmentalism and can get behind taking down the system any day.
I want to work in non-profit communications and be an advocate and bridge for communities and the resources they need. I hope one day the work I create will inspire younger generations to feel comfortable and unapologetic in their own skin. Across differences and experience, I want to live in a time where people can simply talk with the intention to understand and resolve. I see social arts and cultural movements as significant and beautiful ways in accomplishing this.
Historically I have been told to be a nihilist, but deep down I’m truly a hopeless optimist. I also have written poetry in many interesting and different places—my recent favorite being on the marbled stairs alongside pillars of the Lincoln Memorial in DC.

My biggest supporter has always been my mother. She has been my role model all throughout my life, showing me what a strong, driven, and independent woman looks like. She is who encourages me to believe in myself, to live in the moment, and to never give up on my dreams and passions.
A fictional character that is most like myself would have to be Boo from Monsters Inc. Not only did I look like Boo when I was younger, but she also exemplifies someone who is fearless and courageous which are traits I identify with.
Once I graduate from the University of Oregon, I will begin my Master’s in Psychology at Pepperdine University. From there, I plan to get my PhD so I can one day be a Sports Psychologist for a professional NFL team!
One fun fact about me is that I am bilingual! I speak both English and Chinese.

My biggest role model at the moment is Greta Thunberg. She has been such a crucial activist for the environmental movement from such a young age. It’s incredibly inspiring to see a young woman having such a large voice and making such a difference.
I would have to say I am a lot like Monica Geller from Friends. She is a very outspoken and passionate woman. She can be a bit domineering, but at the end of the day, you can tell she cares very deeply about the people in her life.
I want to be involved in the sustainable fashion world. I would love to work for a sustainable fashion company doing marketing or purchasing or designing. Ultimately, I want to combine my creative and fashion knowledge and my passion for the environment into a career.
I am an extremely crafty person. I crochet, sew, embroider, and make a lot of my own clothes. If anyone has a hole in their clothes or wants their pants hemmed, I am always the first person my friends and family come to.

By creating more action and less empty words. Speaking out even in spaces where my opinion may not be popular for those who’s voices may not be heard otherwise.
In terms of UO club, rugby. It’s such a positive atmosphere and everyone there help create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. For the UO in general I’m really proud of starting the first networking and recruiting event my program has ever had. I hope to see future iterations of the program take the blue prints and grow the event because it can really be a one of a kind event.
Who is your biggest role model and why?

What is one fun fact about you?
My parents and siblings. When they face adversity they always keep going, always fighting for their voice to be heard. They never settle, and always strive to do their best. When I took a class with professors last term who told me my dreams were unattainable, they were in my corner and pushed me to do my best regardless of what anyone else thought. They were the loudest voices when I was struggling and the loudest when I achieved those ‘unattainable goals’ a couple of months later. I owe a lot to them and to my friends Elise and Jonah who filled my everyday at the UO with positive vibes that kept me going when things were tough.
Maybe the mouse from Tales of Desperaoux. He believes he can do or be anything and he’s courageous in this pursuit.
I’m currently working strategy at 72andsunny so I’ll continue that but no work goals just do cool work and stay happy doing it. My actual goals are to adopt a fluffy puppy and to travel to Tokyo, Rio and Shanghai in the next couple years.
The odds are ALWAYS in my favor. It’s a super weird thing but genuinely good luck or bad luck whatever is unlikely to happen, happens to me all the time. Some people know me as a kid with insane good luck others know me as someone with a crazy amount of bad luck and my close friends & family know either way if it’s unlikely to happen, it’ll happen to me. It makes my life a huge series of random ups and downs but also ridiculously entertaining.

My biggest role model has been and will always be my mom. Through all my accomplishments and my hardships she is my go-to person to call and talk to about it. When I need words of encouragement or advice if I am feeling stressed, she has not only motivated me to achieve all of my goals and aspirations but also looks out for me when she notices I need a break or am doing too much for myself. The only reason I am able to balance multiple jobs, activities, and school is because she has taught me how to stay organized and to make sure that I am always doing what makes me happy.
I am proud to be involved with many campus organizations where I am able to meet so many students who are passionate about the same things I am. I have appreciated my time being an Assistant Director for the Student Alumni Association, planning events surrounding advocacy and philanthropy to give back to the community as well as serving the student body through my role in ASUO. I also am proud to be apart of UO SVPE where I presented Get Explicit 101, a sexual violence prevention course to all incoming transfer and freshman students this past year. The work I have contributed to throughout my time at UO makes me proud that I am using the resources accessible to me and my many involvements on campus to better student life.

How do you want to change the world?
Which fictional character is most like yourself?
I want to change the world through a better understanding of the law and how it can be used to offer protection and safety to those who need it the most. Throughout my life I have seen cases of individuals being taken advantage of because they believed they did not have the right to fight back for their autonomy and beliefs because of misconceptions against them. I think it is important to make sure everyone understands the power they have within our society, and that anyone can step up and make a change in this world. I hope to encourage others to believe in themselves, as that will change their own worlds far more than I ever could.
This is a really hard question, but I think I would have to say Princess Leia from Star Wars. She’s an incredibly strong and independent woman who knows how to get what she wants, but also carries herself well as a leader. She’s also not afraid of the “boys club,” and consistently proves that she’s strong enough to take care of herself and others.

My biggest role model is Helene Henderson, a chef and owner of the Malibu Farm restaurant in Malibu, California. She is a woman of color who moved to the United States from Sweden when she was young, and later began a career in the food industry without any prior knowledge or experience. Helene has since grown her career from small catering events in her backyard into a global restaurant empire. It is so incredibly inspiring to see someone work their way towards success in a field where others didn’t look or grow up like her, and see how her passion and drive brought her to the point she is at today. She believed in herself then and now, and I hope to embody that confidence as I begin my legal career and work beyond.
I am incredibly proud to have served as the International chair, President Elect, and President for the University of Oregon Rotaract club. Through my four years of membership I have seen the club grow so much, including recovering from Covid. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community where I live, even if that is only for a temporary moment in time. Rotaract, the people involved, and all its service projects is a near and dear memory of my college experience.
After college I plan on attending law school in the fall of 2022 in order to further my career and passion within the field of law.

How do you want to change the world?
What are you proud to have been involved with at University of Oregon?
I want to help the world heal. The world is experiencing large amounts of fear, anger, sadness, and despair. These emotions are important to feel, but without a balance they can cause more destruction and pain. I want to help the world evolve their emotions of hate and anger to that of compassion, empathy, and kindness. Self reflection is an incredibly powerful (and terrifying) tool‚ diving deep to ask yourself why you feel a certain way can bring up past trauma and experiences, but I truly believe that the path to global change starts within ourselves. I want to help others reflect, recognize, and reconnect to themselves and the world around them; showcasing how being kinder to yourself will lead to being kinder to others.
I am incredibly proud to have been the Outreach Coordinator for Taking Up Space at the University of Oregon. Taking Up Space (TUS) is the only BIPOC advertising club in the School of Journalism and Communication. TUS focuses on celebrating BIPOC student’s work and creating a community where people of color feel welcomed and safe to “take up space.” As the Outreach Coordinator, I had the privilege to connect with other BIPOC clubs on campus, coordinate collaborations with agencies, and help publish our very own cookbook with different cultural family recipes.
Who is your biggest role model and why?
What are your goals after college?
Which fictional character is most like yourself?
What is one fun fact about you?
My parents are my biggest role model. Both of my parents are immigrants from Mexico City who uprooted their entire life to ensure a better future for their children. My parents were forced to transcend cultural, economic, and systemic barriers during their transition into the United States. My parents had to build their life from the ground up, and their constant kindness and positive attitudes spoke volumes to their character. I will always be inspired by my parents for not just the hoops they jumped through, but the beauty, grace, and kindness they showed along the way.
I am excited to say that I have been chosen as a 2022 MAIP Fellow for the 4 A’s Advertising Agency. This competitive organization focuses on providing BIPOC individuals in Advertising with internships and networking opportunities around the U.S. Immediately after graduating, I will be an Account Executive Intern for the award-winning Ad agency, Pereira O’Dell in San Francisco. Once the internship ends in August, then I hope to work with a company who values diversity, creates amazing content, and challenges the status quo to make the world a better place.
I see a lot of myself in Maribel from Disney’s newest film, Encanto. I relate to the Hispanic culture and values shown in the film such as the emphasis on a large family, vibrant celebrations, and a love for music. Similar to the Madrigal family, I am blessed to have many empowered, decision-making women in my life, but being surrounded by incredible family members made it difficult to see what my gift was. I could relate to Maribel’s feelings of standing in the shadows of her family, but she and I have been able to overcome this feeling by being vulnerable and self-accepting. I can relate to Maribel’s journey of self-discovery, and it has led me to realizing my own gifts and potential.
At the age of 20, I chose to put my academic career on pause to gain experiences that could not be taught in a classroom. I traveled around Spain and the United Kingdom to work with multiple non-profit organizations. I volunteered with environmental education centers, adult care homes, and permaculture farms over the span of 4 months. I am extremely grateful for the people I’ve met, the cultures I experienced, and the lessons I learned along the way. I am the person I am today because I dared to think about the life I wanted to live versus the life I was told to follow.

How do you want to change the world?
What are your goals after college?
Building relationships has been a theme of my college and professional careers to date. Building these relationships has been a core part of my time here, and something I know I will carry with me after I graduate. The foundation of international relations is just that: relations. What brings people around the world together for a common goal, whether that be through sport, policy, or education exchanges, truly has the power to change how people see their future. When people share experiences, and get to know one another’s story, the world changes for the better‚and that’s a world I want to be a part of.
After college I have been selected to participate in the JET Programme, to teach abroad in Japan. Returning to Japan after four years this time as a teacher instead of a student will be an adventure I am both nervous and excited to take on! After JET, I plan on attending grad school, and finding a career in international affairs and Japan/America relations. Mainly, I hope my future career allows me to further my interest in culture, education and travel, as well as make a positive impact on the world.

Looking back, I am proud that I gave in to trying as many opportunities within UO as I did. Though I couldn’t continue all of them to senior year, each experience contributed to my college experience in a positive way. As part of Student Alumni Leadership, I was able to take on a leadership position where I worked as the director for a team of three amazing, dedicated interns as well as an executive position in my club, International Business and Economics Club. These programs helped me realize my full potential as a leader and organizer of others, and taught me valuable lessons about teamwork. I am honored to have been a part of the legacy of both, and look forward to the great things they will do in the future.
My namesake, Hermione Granger (Harry Potter). Certainly big shoes to fill, but I think Hermione’s merit as a character goes beyond her famous intelligence. Hermione is the face of determination and strength. She knows she has to put in the work to see results, and I see similarities in our hardworking (and sometimes headstrong) natures. Opinionated and not afraid to speak our minds, we are both known for telling it as it is.
Definitely my roommates. No matter what, they were supporting me through all my senior year threw at me, helping me brainstorming ideas, letting me practice giving speeches, and encouraging me to do my best everyday. After I finished my thesis defense, they waited outside the building to surprise me with flowers and chocolate. I wouldn’t have had the amazing college experience I did without them.
I attended an Agricultural high school in Japan. The classes at my school consisted of vegetable growing and farming, produce picking, baking and cooking, and livestock cultivation. Much different than my high school in America, I experienced rural farm life on top of the culture differences between the two countries. Though it wasn’t always easy, I am the tough, can-doanything person I am today because of these experiences.

I hope to change the world by being a role model to inspire people around me, by being positive, and by helping people when they need it. For me, that’s what being a leader is. While this may not change the world, if I can look to help one person shine, that’s enough to help start a ripple effect for others to do the same.

While I have yet to figure out completely what I want to do, I know that engaging in some form of mutual aid or activism in which I can help those in need is non-negotiable. Whether that be civil rights law or mutual aid work addressing houselessness, as long as I can help the lives of people I’m happy!
I’m proud to have been involved with OSPIRG! I was the Hunger and Houselessness Campaign coordinator and in just this past two terms we were able to fundraise $1000 for local organizations such as Food For Lane Country and Huerta de la Familia, volunteer at local grassroots gardens, distribute 200 sandwiches and care packages of sanitary supplies to houseless folks on the streets, and more. I would say the fictional character most like myself is Sokka from Avatar because he’s kind of annoying, thinks he’s hilarious even when the people around him don’t, and even though he seems dumb, he is actually capable of doing awesome stuff.
As I said before, I want to engage in work that makes a difference and helps others! To help me do that, I would love to get an internship with an organization like the ACLU so I may begin learning how to address issues of civil rights. I’m also hoping to study for my LSAT and get into a top accredited law school! But on top of that, I would love to move to the East Coast and spend some time traveling the world if possible. My approach to making an influence in the world, which would result in positive change, would be to embrace humility through attentive listening I can my use privilege as a college student to be the voice that others do not have and inspire them by being an example of a positive influence. I think I resemble Strawberry Shortcake. Not only do we both have red hair, but she was my favorite fictional character growing up. She’s known to be sweet and upbeat. According to her Wikipedia page, she always remains positive and hopeful things will work out in the end. She befriends others with ease and is always willing to help out. She always tries to put their needs ahead of her own because of how deeply she cares about ensuring their happiness. I believe that is a very accurate representation of the person I am.
I have always had a passion for helping and working with people which is something I want to translate into my future career. I am also a natural born leader, so my ultimate goal is to hold a leadership position doing something centered around helping others. Although I plan to work in marketing or public relations upon graduation, I find that not knowing what the future holds excites and motivates me. Wherever I end up in life, I hope I am helping and inspiring those around me and am known as someone people can count on.

I hope to affect the world through relentless optimism. You never know how somebody’s day is going, but if you can lead your life with compassion and empathy, I believe that you have the chance to play a positive role in this world. Everybody comes from different background and has different life stories, so if you can listen and learn form the people you meet, you’re bound to change at least a portion of the world someday.
My biggest role model is my mom. She has never lost her sense of fun, adventure, and goofiness in her adult life and I hope to do the same. She never takes herself too seriously, yet she cares so much about the people around her. If I can take on life’s challenges while still making time to have fun then I’ll know I’ve succeeded.

I am most proud to have been involved in the Women in Business club. When I got involved with the club my freshman year, I never expected to get involved so early. I saw the people on the executive board and wondered how they had their lives so put together, because I felt like I could never be that organized, confident, and composed. However, the club taught me that, I already had the capabilities needed to be a leader, I just didn’t see them at first. I know that WIB helps other students realize that they are capable individuals and I’m so glad that I met so many extraordinary women along the way. I have no doubt that they will go on to do great things, and I can’t wait to watch.
After asking some friends, the character that I am most similar to is Dory from Finding Nemo. I try my hardest to lead my life with kindness at the forefront of my mind. Despite the challenges Dory faces in her life she goes on an adventure and makes so many friends along that way. I’m inspired by her tenacity and determination to help her friends.
My goal after college is to explore. There’s so many new things to see and I want to see as much of it as I can. I’d love to live in a new city for a while and eventually go to grad school in London. I plan on pursuing a career in marketing and I’m excited to see where that takes me. A goal of mine is to not get tied down onto one set career path. I’ve always admired professionals who seem to take different opportunities as they come to them, leaving them with a unique and diverse range of experiences. That has always seemed like an adventure that I’d love to replicate.

What are you proud to have been involved with at University of Oregon?
As an immigrant and person of color, I want to change the world through giving back to my community. I want to help the people immigrating to America and people suffering with diseases. I believe that I can relate to these people since I have been through these experiences before. With the plan of becoming a doctor, I can interact and help people feel welcomed and not get discriminated against regardless of their race or diseases. Also, as I meet with many different people, I see that some people feel ashamed with their diseases. However, each individual has their own color and life. I hope with my empathy and compassion, I can change the world and help these people feel comfortable for who they are.

In addition, by seeing students proudly display their hard work and contributions to research, I feel pleased that our university has all these talented people who can showcase their skills.

Which fictional character is most like yourself?
My biggest role model is my grandma. She would always take care of me and my siblings when my parents were working. She always had a smile on her face despite how tired she is. My grandma taught me to be a good person; she told me to forget people’s mistakes and love them. She also told me to cherish the time I have. I learned to cherish every moment I have, and I have to live life to the fullest while loving everyone around me. I practice her teachings by trying my best at everything and forgive other’s mistakes as I recognize their flaws. I will cherish every moment I have in this life and live my fullest. I will become a person that lives with full love and commitment.
One fictional character that is most like myself is Sailor Mercury in Sailor Moon. At the beginning, she was timid kind, gentle, supportive, and a loyal girl who is slightly insecure. Similarly, upon my arrival in America, I began living with diverse people. I was really scared and felt timid by them because I could not understand them. In Vietnam, people knew each other, we spoke the same language, and we shared the same beliefs. Therefore, I felt insecure for who I am. However, once Sailor Mercury met her friends, she became stronger and more confident. After meeting my friends, I became more inspired and confident where I continue to improve my English, meet new people, and adapt to new cultures.

My goals after college are to attend medical school and obtain a Medical Doctor degree. The experiences I had in the past shape my goals. I have always seen the importance of education. Also, I encountered many events related to sick patients. One experience I had are my volunteer memories at a hospital. I saw many people who are waiting for cures for their diseases everyday. My heart aches every time I see these patients look sick and tired from their treatments. Their families have to stay by their sides every day. I feel empathy for these patients and their family members. By going to medical school, I would be able to make changes. These patients can lessen their pain both physically and emotionally through my help.

What is one fun fact about you?
I want to change the world in so many ways, I want to raise awareness among hazards in the beauty industry and fight passionately to have a beauty production act federally to protect women from corporate monsters who are intentionally poisoning us. As a black feminist I feel it is so important to strive to change in so many areas. There is a lack of representation amongst many fields and jobs BIPOC women have never been able to fill. Apart from feminist motivations, I also want to change the world by creating databases and uncovering stories that matter in BIPOC and women led communities, being a multimedia journalist I feel I have so many tools that can help branch this.

My biggest role model is my Grandfather Ruckins. Although I never had a chance to meet him, he was one of very few African American developers in Los Angeles during the 70’s and 80’s and completely transformed the way shopping centers are accessible for BIPOC communities. He was always striving to be excellent, and wanted to make a difference. Sometimes I feel he is with me every step of the way encouraging me.
Olivia Pope, I am always trying to be a powerful BIPOC women wearing the white hat metaphorically speaking and breaking glass ceilings to pave the way for BIPOC women behind me.
My goals after college are to expand and continue my creative media business with hopes to have studios over the US that educate, teach, train, and have a safe space for creative BIPOC individuals to congregate, brainstorm and collaborate on ideas to produce amazing work that would be used in TV ads to magazine covers and ads!

I want to change the world by breaking down stigmas and systems of oppressions. I am tired of steering clear from “tough” conversations, when there needs to be discussions on things like racism, mental health, homophobia, etc. I want to see more representation of people of color and LGBTQIA+ community in not just media, but in positions of leadership. I will change the world, one step at a time, by advocating and utilizing my voice as student leader. I want a future that I can be proud of, and the best way to do that is to be inclusive and fight together.
My biggest role model would have to be Russel from Disney’s Up. Despite facing unprecedented challenges, he remains optimistic and does his upmost best to cheer others up.
