As we begin the new year, many students scribble down their resolutions with the hope of self-improvement: better grades, better habits and better balance. But what if this year, our resolution could do more than improve our personal lives — but also help shape the future of our university? Student engagement in campus politics is more than just casting a vote in elections. In reality, participation takes many forms. From joining clubs and councils to organizing petitions in the quad, getting involved allows students to influence the policies that shape their daily lives.
