Pretty pictures and saving dollars both make us happy, but engaging the personalities of each person that connects with your community is our ultimate reward. The one thing that is true about every person or community we serve is that every story has its own twist or turn. Although we see many of the same programs, services and even reimbursements, the design that provides the right conclusion for you will definitely not be the same as your neighbors

The importance of each resident, family, staff and caregiver’s experience is exhibited in the architectural design, residential detailing, and finishes throughout our senior living environments. Each one is designed to meet specific aesthetic, social and residential needs without compromising the necessary elements required for optimal care. Balancing each client’s perspective and their own dayto-day practical requirements, we have been able to merge design techniques and caregiver knowledge in each facet of healthcare delivery to create functional (and marketable) solutions

Keeping up with market trends is a daily task. It is our practice to work on an individual basis to determine the impact of each space and how it relates to the building overall, and to its functional adjacencies. A close look at any of Orcutt | Winslow’s tenant improvements will demonstrate how the uniqueness of each property can be designed to meet the needs of any office and its daily practice.

Orcutt | Winslow has completed thousands of square feet of tenant improvements, including projects as diverse as corporate headquarters, medical offices, governmental offices and retail shops. No matter what the project size, each project is undertaken with the same philosophy of design. Once we get to know who will be occupying the space and calling it their “home” we can begin to do the things that make a plan work. An understanding of how this space relates to the others in the facility, how it compares to its competition, what the usable area is, or who the space will service will determine the dynamics and the success of the project.

As the world population is getting older and life expectancy increases, all areas of senior care are affected. Although your clientele vary widely, from individuals capable of living independently, to those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory loss, to those requiring skilled nursing, the one thing they have in common is that they pose a challenge to any customer experience. Balancing the day-to-day management of life is a feat in an of itself. The design of “community” is exhibited in the architectural design, residential detailing, and finishes throughout all of our residential and care facilities. Each one is designed to meet specific aesthetic, social and residential needs without compromising the necessary elements required for optimal efficiency. Balancing each client’s perspective and their own day-to-day practical requirements, we have been able to merge design techniques with some very adaptable market solutions.

What was once the “typical” learning experience is no longer “typical.” “Students” come from all walks of life and have high expectations of what they want for their educational investment of time. They demand the academia that is required to achieve their degree or career goals, but they also demand the engagement that will keep them coming back. Just like today’s students are bombarded with choices, competitors in all realms of business search for better ways to create authentic experiences that attract and hold the attention of their audiences.

Technology as a Second Language

Our seniors may not be digital natives, but many are willing to learn the second language, and be fluent…

The future is not far away and could also provide wearables and personal robots to assist seniors with many of their daily tasks and enable more socialization and edutainment. These systems and technologies can increase comfort and safety while enabling seniors to be more independent. How will this play out in the future of your designs and their potential prototypes?
