Why support us?

Closer to the music. Closer to the musicians. Closer to the inside workings of this unique ensemble and the many amazing artists with whom the OAE works.

Our success is due to the support of our loyal audiences and Friends, who offer generous financial support in addition to purchasing concert tickets. We are a registered charity and the donations we receive enable us to undertake our programme of concert’s and education work. Ticket income, while vital, covers only around a third of a concerts total costs and our grant from the Arts Council is typically only around 7.5% of our income – so the support of you, our loyal audience members and Friends, really is critical. It makes a huge difference, entirely underwriting at least one concert at the Southbank Centre each year.

Through your membership you’ll be able to watch rehearsals, get behind the scenes information through our ebulletins and newsletters, and benefit from a three week priority booking period, meaning you get the pick of the seats when our new season goes on sale. You’ll also know that you’re supporting the work of one of the UK’s most innovative Orchestras and bringing the joy of music to a whole new generation.
