On behalf of the Orchard House School Board of Trustees, I want to express my profound gratitude to our entire OHS community for the wonderful 2021-2022 year. The year was not without some lingering uncertainty that carried over from the period of pandemic, but our school hit the ground running with renewed vigor and has not slowed down since!
The OHS Board made great strides in support of the school in 2021-2022. In partnership with Laura Haskins and her entire administrative team, the Board approved the engagement of a consultant to lead the strategic planning efforts, participated in the year-long strategic planning process, and approved the final strategic plan, found here, in June. Strong board leadership brought structure and discipline to a highly successful annual fund year, as reflected here in the Annual Report. The OHS Board has traditionally acted as a “working” Board, and I am so proud of each and every Board member for their generous contributions in time, talent, and treasure in support of the school’s mission.
And speaking of the OHS mission, I want to express sincere thanks to the faculty and staff who work tirelessly and joyfully every day to educate and inspire middle school girls in a responsive, academically engaging community that fosters each girl's intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, emotional integrity, and physical well-being. One theme that resonated throughout our strategic planning process was the strength of and admiration for our faculty and staff. Not at all a surprise to me or my alumnae daughters!
To our inspiring OHS students, I want to thank you for showing all of us what true community looks like. It is such a joy to visit the school to see the building filled with your collective laughter, song, learning, and collaboration.
Finally, to our families, alumnae, and the broader OHS community, thank you for your steadfast support of OHS. Your continued connection to OHS, in so many ways big and small, is appreciated beyond measure. You are wonderful advocates for OHS; we hope you will keep spreading the word!
