welcome from
HEAD OF SCHOOL One of my greatest pleasures as Head of School is meeting with alumnae and their families and hearing what a gift Orchard House School was to them. I never tire of hearing their stories, of hearing how Orchard House School helped them joyfully navigate the sometimes turbulent waters of adolescence. Just as Orchard House School has been a giver of gifts for so many, we are also the recipient of tremendous generosity from our community. 17-18 was a remarkable year of firsts for annual giving at Orchard House School. First, our community achieved a goal few schools ever reach - 100% giving from our faculty and staff, board, and parents. This exceptional achievement reflects the power of our mission in the lives of girls and families. Second, we launched the Quiltmaker’s Circle to encourage sustained giving from graduating and alumnae families. Members of the Class of 2018 enthusiastically embraced this effort and became the first members in what will be a meaningful program for Orchard House School. Third, we participated in the national Giving Tuesday event, and with a match challenge from our OHS Board of Trustees, we were able to raise $6,800 in just one day. As you review our 2017-2018 Annual Report, we hope that you will feel the sense of pride we feel as we recognize the cumulative impact of a group of passionate and committed individuals. Thank you for your vital role in securing our future.

QUILTMAKER’S C I R C L E
IN HONOR OF GRADUATES AND ALUMNAE As we celebrate twenty years of outstanding education for middle school girls, members of the Quiltmaker’s Circle honor their daughters upon graduation and alumnae while helping launch Orchard House School rmly into its next twenty years of educating and inspiring middle school girls. Members make an annual nancial commitment for a ve-year period to the Annual Fund to reeect the value that they place on their daughter’s experience and the overall mission of the school. The names of their daughters embroidered on this specially designed quilt highlight their commitment and symbolically represent their place in the fabric of our school culture. As a part of the Quiltmaker’s Circle, members know that their gift is making a difference to Orchard House School and helping to secure its future. In addition to the school’s strong academic focus, the experiences, friendships, and life lessons learned while at Orchard House School are what truly make it a special place for each girl—past, present, and future.
