The City of Westminster is now officially on board with a three-city effort to create a “navigation” center to shelter and serve the homeless.

The employment of a new city manager tops the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council. Hannah Shin-Heydorn, currently city manager for the City of Signal Hill, is expected to be approved. Before serving in that capacity, she was the deputy city manager. Previous to that she served in several administrative capacities for the City of Lake Forest. She would succeed Jarad Hildrenbrand, who left Stanton earlier this year to become city manager of Laguna Woods. Since then Zenia Bobadilla has been serving as interim

city manager. According to social media posts, Shin-Heydorn, 45, is a resident of Fountain Valley. Also on the agenda for Tuesday is an update on cannabis business application and permitting process. The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
New corona cases show sharp jump in new report The daily average of new coronavirus cases in Orange County took a sharp turn upward in Friday’s report. According to the county health care agency, there were 3,720 confirmed new cases in the three-day pe-
riod closing June 23. That works out to an average daily total of 1,240. The previous average (reported on Tuesday) was 897. Deaths fell from nine to six and hospitalizations increased from 175 to Continued on page 2
