Coronavirus Cases May Be Leveling Off Hospitalizations are on increase, statistics show
The long-awaited new playground equipment at Garden Grove Park is in the process of being installed. It has a retro “space age” style and will offer room for climbing, sliding, pretending and other activities for youngsters. The new equipment is part of the master plan for upgrading the city’s largest park.
WPD officers find guns and drugs in arrests If you’re going to be driving along with both illegal drugs and a loaded firearm in your car, you’d better drive as carefully as you can. A Westminster Police Department officer patrolling in the area of Goldenwest Street and Trask Avenue around midnight on Tuesday pulled over an automobile for vehicle code violations.
During the traffic stop, the officer noticed the driver had a suspended driver’s license and spotted what he believed to be methamphetamine “in plain view” in the vehicle. There were also multiple warrants for the female passenger. A search of the vehicle followed and officer Continued on page 2
The trend of confirmed new cases of coronavirus in Orange County appear to be leveling off. Tuesday’s report from the county health care agency covering a fourday stretch showed 4,576 new cases, which is an average of 1,144 per day. That compares to last Friday’s average of 1,176 cases and the week-ago figure of 1,105. Among the four major statistic categories mea-
suring the impact of COVID-19 in the county, only one showed an increase. Deaths fell from 11 a week ago to eight on Friday and six today (Tuesday). The use of intensive care units to treat coronavirus cases is at 35, down from Friday’s 50 and 45 a week ago.
