Threat of bomb was likely just a ‘hoax’
Survey reveals campus attitudes
By Lola Olvera Western Sun staff writer “Alright, we’re gonna need everyone to evacuate the building. Everything’s fine, we just need everyone to evacuate.” This announcement, spoken by a member of GWC‘s Public Safety, roused students from their studying in the Learning Resource Center around 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 17. Students trailed hesitantly out of the building in crowds, unsure if they should be frightened or not and unaware of the reason for the evacuation. Everyone was instructed to abandon the area around the building for either the parking lot or the rest of the campus. There were 51 males and 29 females who were apart of this study. Out of those, one student was under 17, 71 were between the ages of 18 and 25, seven were between the ages of 26 and 35, and one was older than 35.
