Not All Retroreflective Materials are Equal

ORALITE® PRISMATIC TRIMS Works When Wet Prismatic Retroreflective Trim Prismatic reflective elements are produced under a tough outer layer and lose only a fraction of their performance in rainfall. The smooth outer surface is easy to wipe clean of soiling elements like dirt, grease and oil, allowing the prismatic film to maintain the majority of its reflectivity.

Glass Bead Retroreflective Trim Glass bead reflective elements are exposed, causing a dramatic loss of reflectivity in rainfall. Exposed lens glass bead systems trap dirt, grease and oil and are easily abraded. This makes them difficult to wipe clean and permanently lowers performance when wet.
