Welcome to our 2017 Dandelion Wishes Gala Ball. Tonight brings together a diverse group of people, who through their passion and energy are helping to change the future of healthcare for thousands of sick children. Last year alone, our staff cared for more than 100,000 children and their families. We saw 66,000 children in our emergency departments and admitted nearly 40,000 children into our care.
Our move to the new hospital will be a turning point in our history, and we’re humbled that by being here tonight you have chosen to support us in this next phase. Funds raised at the 2017 Dandelion Wishes Gala will allow us to invest in much needed advanced medical equipment such as the special neonatal transport cots you will hear more about tonight.
The scale and breadth of our service will soon be supported by our new 230bed Monash Children’s Hospital. The building of our new hospital has been a long and inspiring journey; a dream becoming reality for thousands of staff, patients and families.
