WELCOM E Welcome to the inaugural Dandelion Wishes Gala Ball. This is such a special night for so many reasons.
We believe it takes the whole community to build a great children’s hospital and we are very grateful for the incredible involvement and support we receive from so many individuals and groups within the community including everyone here tonight. Importantly, we hope this is a fantastic night that you thoroughly enjoy. Even more importantly, we want you to remember that by being here and giving money tonight you are doing something incredibly good for the children of Victoria. The need for our new hospital has never been greater. Last year we admitted more than 36,000 patients and their families and saw nearly 62,000 in our emergency departments. They are very large numbers and the need will only grow. We have all been dreaming about our new Children’s Hospital for so long it’s sometimes hard to believe it is actually happening. Located immediately adjacent to Monash Medical Centre the new
230-bed purpose-built children’s hospital will be opened in about a year. We are grateful to the Victorian Government for making this a reality – and we have never needed your support more. Fundraising events such as these will make our hospital truly great. Your efforts and your generosity will help make our facility a truly special place for our children and their families. On behalf of the children and families at the Monash Children’s Hospital we would like extend our sincere thanks to Lincoln and Veronique and the committee for organising such a fabulous evening in one of Victoria’s premier locations for one of Victoria’s great children’s hospitals. The complementary contrast between the cobalt blue precious resin of the barrel and the narrow orange rings on the cone and forepart reflect the color variations in Warhol’s Colored Campbell’s Soup can series from 1965, which are also carefully worked into the stainless steel cap.
