After years of discussion with Gil at Speed & Design Interiors, we officially launched our first road tour, designing what we believed would be an unforgettable experience for participants. Having completed a similar journey in 2022, we brought valuable insight and perspective to the planning process.

What followed were months of preparation—countless calls and emails to potential tour stops, hotel coordination, and extensive logistical planning. It’s hard to quantify the time and effort required to bring everything together, and none of it would have been possible without the support of our 2025 Tour Sponsors.

DAY 1 Kickoff Party and Tour at Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage followed by our first dinner as a group together.

DAY 2 Nashville, TN to Hot Springs, AR The following morning, we headed out for our first stop in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We were welcomed by an impressive lineup of hot rods and treated to a fantastic dinner hosted by Sublett Signs and generously provided by Scott and Adam Miller. After a long day on the road, the great food and even better company were exactly what everyone needed.

DAY 3 Hot Springs, AR to Sand Springs, OK We got an early start to stay ahead of the heat, with temperatures expected to climb into the high 90s. With several cars lacking air conditioning and the priority of keeping everything running cool, beating the heat was part of the plan. The day’s drive was a manageable four hours, winding through miles of Arkansas National Forest as we made our way to Sand Springs, Arkansas, for two scheduled tour stops.

Our first stop was an exceptional shop tour at The Hot Rod Garage, whose builds are nationally recognized and never fail to impress. The second stop took us to a nearby private car collection featuring some truly remarkable vehicles—cars that aren’t just showpieces, but are driven regularly and often find their way onto road tours of their own.

DAY 4 Sand Springs, OK to Amarillo, TX Another early start led to a five-hour drive as we made our way toward Amarillo, Texas.

After a quick stop in Oklahoma City to pick up a ’34 Ford three-window coupe, we picked up the pace and logged some serious highway miles. Lunch brought us to Shamrock, Texas, where we grabbed photos at the famous Conoco gas station. That evening in Amarillo, we capped off the day with a visit to another outstanding private car collection.

DAY 5 Amarillo, TX to Albuquerque, NM With temperatures climbing into the high 90s, we were on the road early once again.

The day’s drive to Albuquerque, New Mexico was just over four hours, making it an easy and enjoyable stretch. Regular fuel stops every two to three hours gave everyone a welcome opportunity to cool off, recharge, and enjoy a brief break from the heat.

Upon arriving in Albuquerque, we headed straight to our lunch stop and gathering hosted by Outlaw Kustoms. They put together an incredible welcome, with hot rods, trucks, custom cars, and a large crowd on hand to greet our arrival. Between the great food, music, and even better company, it quickly became one of the favorite stops of the tour for many.

After lunch, it was time to take care of some maintenance on a few of the cars. The Model A flathead sedan needed another oil change, and the black ’34 Ford coupe required a bit of air-conditioning work. Fortunately, we already had a shop lined up, turning what could have been a chore into more laughs and quality time with a great group of guys.

As we continued west, the scenery only got better, with rising mountains and richer colors enhancing the drive. By this point, everyone had settled in, friendships had formed, and nicknames were already being passed around. After all, the journey is just as much about the people you share it with as the miles you travel.

DAY 6 Albuquerque, NM to Moab, UT. One of the most scenic days of Drive 2025 unfolded along the back roads leading to Moab. The route carried us through winding mountain passes and vast stretches of tribal lands, crossing New Mexico and into parts of Colorado before finally reaching the dramatic landscapes of Utah.

The stops along the way were nothing short of majestic. Under perfect blue skies, the day unfolded into something truly special. With countless scenic pull-offs along the route, we took full advantage—stopping whenever we could for photos, laughter, and a little extra fun.

One of our stops was Wilson Arch, where several tour participants made the hike to the top to take in the sweeping views and capture an unforgettable photo opportunity.

After hiking to the top of Wilson Arch, our next stop was at the Hole N” the Rock.

DAY 7 Moab, UT to Helper, UT to Salt Lake City, UT! Each day brought something new for our tour participants, many of whom had never traveled this far west or experienced the unique towns along our route. This day quickly became another unforgettable highlight—one people were still talking about long after it ended. A scenic two-plus-hour drive took us from Moab to Helper, Utah, where we visited the Vintage Motor Company for an in-depth tour of their buildings and impressive collections. With the support of our tour sponsors, everyone was treated to lunch and dessert, made even more special by a local family and their young son, whose hospitality added a memorable and heartfelt touch to the day.

The town itself felt like a step back in time, with painted signs and murals covering many of the historic buildings. Inside the Vintage Motor Company, we explored an impressive motorcycle collection, an array of parts, and—of course—a lineup of incredible hot rods.

Stepping inside the buildings felt like traveling back in time, surrounded by layers of history at every turn.

After our stop in Helper, Utah, we continued on for another two-plus hours, winding through the mountains toward Provo and Salt Lake City.

We enjoyed a day of rest in Salt Lake City before a full schedule of shop tours the following day—starting with a visit to Streamline Custom Designs and followed by a private tour of Kindig-It Design.

DAY 8 Bonneville Here We Come!

The day began with a stop at a private residence and car collection, where nearly 30 hot rods from across the country rolled in together. A special thank you to Justin for hosting everyone and providing a delicious breakfast. From there, we fired up the engines and set our sights on our final destination—the Bonneville Salt Flats.

We had finally reached our destination, and the excitement of celebrating it together was undeniable. As a group, we had traveled through nine states and covered nearly 2,500 miles. With the salt calling our names, each car owner lined up to capture photos of their vehicle beside the iconic Bonneville Salt Flats sign.

We couldn’t have asked for a better group to share the journey with.

This marked our final time on the salt. After more than ten days on the road and with a long journey still ahead, we spent a final half day taking it all in before turning our attention to the 2,500 miles that awaited us on the drive home.

It was time to begin the long journey home. What took seven days to reach, we would cover in just three on the return. Gil’s F100, Chris’s ’34 Ford coupe, and Will’s ’32 Ford sedan rolled out together, heading back toward Albuquerque, New Mexico over the next day and a half.

We rolled out early in the morning from Utah, pointing the cars back toward New Mexico.

Gil and Kevin’s final day on the road—22 straight hours behind the wheel of Gil’s ’56 Ford F100, driving from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Nashville, Tennessee.
