At Oportunidades program,we educate, empower, and build our nation

Oportunidades FGK is an educational program whose goal is to provide young Salvadorans with better tools and high-quality learning opportunities that are innovative and connected to today’s world. Over the past 17 years, the Oportunidades FGK Program has impacted the lives of more than 4,300 young adults through 16 partnerships with universities across the country. To date, 1,800 higher-education scholarships have been awarded, 783 people have completed the Employability Certification Program, and 944 people have been placed in internships and permanent positions. Since April 2021, Oportunidades FGK has maintained a global development partnership with USAID, jointly allocating US$14 million to operate six Oportunidades FGK centers over a five-year period, benefiting a total of 2,155 young adults in the departments of Santa Ana, San Salvador, San Miguel, Sonsonate, and nearby municipalities.

The Class of 2023 graduated with a total of 275 students, representing the program’s four training centers across both formats. After three years of complementary education in English, entrepreneurship, language development, mathematics, and other areas, they successfully completed Phase 1 of the initiative.

This is the second graduating class from the Sonsonate training center. Of the 47 graduates, 65% of the students will pursue STEAM careers, while 37% of the female students will pursue engineering and technology-related degrees.

CLASS 2023 SANTA ANA Saturday Schedule

Santa Ana graduated 41 young adults from the Class of 2023 through the Saturday Schedule, bringing the total number of graduates across both formats to 86. These students demonstrated the values of CRIARSE both inside and outside the classroom.

Thanks to the updated and innovative education they received, 100% of the 33 graduates will pursue STEAM careers, while 58% of the female students will pursue engineering and technology-related degrees. One of the Class of 2023 students, Darío Eliseo Romero, achieved the highest score on the AVANZO test in the department of Morazán, earning him a government scholarship.
