At Oportunidades program,we educate, empower, and build our nation
The Fundacion Gloria Kriete’s (FGK) Oportunidades Program is designed to provide complementary education that helps young Salvadorans acquire essential skills and knowledge through modern, high-quality learning environments. Its purpose is to strengthen these young adults by providing them with valuable tools and opportunities that better prepare them for today’s workforce. In doing so, the program promotes holistic development, giving them the confidence and capacity to face challenges with creativity and innovation.
Roberto Kriete, FGK President, states: “When we launched Oportunidades Program as one of our three permanent programs, our goal was to provide young scholarship recipients with support that went beyond their formal education. We want to accompany them throughout their higher education and help them successfully enter the workforce.” From 2009 to 2013, the Program successfully graduated 309 young adults, making a significant impact on their lives and communities.

2009 Since its creation in 2007, the Oportunidades Program has been committed to proving young Salvadorans with the tools they need to achieve their goals and pursue their dreams. In 2009, after two years of dedication and hard work, we graduated 65 young leaders equipped to face both professional and educational challenges. This achievement highlights our commitment to high-quality education and comprehensive development. Of these graduates, 15 successfully began their professional careers in highly competitive jobs, applying the skills and knowledge they had acquired.

Building on this success, in 2010 we continued supporting young adults with leadership potential. We graduated 62 new students in San Salvador, who successfully completed their full-time studies. This progress demonstrates the positive impact these young adults are making in their respective fields and represents an important step toward a more promising future. During the same year, the Oportunidades Program expanded its initiatives by implementing professional development workshops, career guidance sessions, and specialized coaching. These activities complemented their academic education, strengthened their leadership skills, and contributed to the personal and professional growth of our students.

2011 In 2011, we reached a new milestone by graduating 48 young adults from the first phase of the program in San Salvador. This achievement not only recognized the individual efforts of these young adults, but also significantly expanded their professional and educational opportunities.
