FROM THE DESK OF THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT Selamat Tahun Baru Imlek 2570 Kongzili, bagi anda yang merayakannya. Successful Business Principles for Letting God Be Your Guide Bible Summary. No matter if we are a small business owner or a factory worker, God has a calling on our life. God knows a business’ strengths and weaknesses, and a business owner must seek God’s wisdom to keep from making bad business decisions. As a business person we must remember to trust God over uncertain profits. A Biblical principle that applies to business as well as to life in general is to seek righteousness first and increase will come. A Biblical principle for business as well as life is to not conform to this world, but continually transform by renewing our mind in what is in the will of God. See below for Biblical commentary and advise concerning business principles for letting God be your guide. 1. Business Principle for Letting God Be Your Guide: Excel in Whatever Business God has Called You.

No matter if we are a small business owner or a factory worker, God has a calling on our life. What is key is that we seek God for our calling in our life, and then excel in it.Ephesians 4:1 advises us to walk worth in the vocation that God has called us. Ephesians 4:1, “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are.” 2. Business Principle for Letting God Be Your Guide: Seek God to Know Your Strengths and Weaknesses. Without knowing a business’ strengths and weaknesses, a business owner can bring a business to ruin by making bad business decisions. It is critical that a business choose to place its resources and energy into what it does better than the competition. Psalm 39:4 advises us to ask God to tell us our purpose and to measure us to tell us of our weaknesses. Psalm 39:4, “Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.” 4

3. Business Principle for Letting God Be Your Guide: Trust God Over Uncertain Profits. As a business person we must remember to trust God over uncertain profits. Success in business can quickly go to one’s head. We can start to think that our current success and future success is based on our own capabilities. 1st Timothy 6:17 advises those that are rich to trust God over uncertain profits. 1st Timothy 6:17, “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;” 4. Business Principle for Letting God Be Your Guide: Seek Righteousness And Profits Will Come. A Biblical principle that applies to business as well as to life in general is to seek righteousness first and increase will come. By seeking righteousness first in business, specifically God’s righteousness, we are trusting in God to help us and to guide us in our business activities. Matthew 6:33 advises us to seek first the kingdom of God and it shall be added to us. Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” 5. Business Principle for Letting God Be Your Guide: Follows God’s Will to Continuously Innovate Your Business. A Biblical principle for business as well as life is to not conform to this world, but continually transform by renewing our mind in what is in the will of God. This is the essence of innovation which is key for any successful business. God does not desire for us to get stuck in a rut doing the same old thing. He desires us to experiment, to seek, and to innovate in order to find out what his will is in any given situation. Romans 2:12 advises us to not conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind to what is the will of God. Romans 2:12, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

15 business lessons from super successful Christian entrepreneurs Life-changing business principles from legendary Christian entrepreneurs. Find out how faith, persistence and will power is essential for building a successful enterprise. Successful business tips from Christian business leaders: 1. Conrad Hilton (1887 – 1979) – Founder of the Hilton Hotels 1. “If you climb Mount Everest, no matter how carefully you plan, anything can happen. Your ice axe slips, your oxygen gives out. A concealed crevasse swallows you up. Well, that’s about the way it was building my first Hilton Hotel.” – Conrad Hilton 2. “Success … seems to be connected with action. Successful men keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.” – Conrad Hilton 3. “When you start planting acorns, the full-fledged oak may take years. And I was beginning to learn what all gardeners must know – patience.” – Conrad Hilton 4. “Worrying has never solved anything yet. Prayer, thought, action – yes. Just worrying, no!” – Conrad Hilton

2. Rich DeVos – Founder of Amway 5. “The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it is possible.” – Rich Devos 6. “If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination. The will to endure to the end, to get knocked down seventy times and get up off the floor saying,” Here comes number seventy-one!” – Rich Devos

3. Truett Cathy 7. “Sometimes success is disguised as hard work.” – Rich Devos 8. “Each person’s destiny is not a matter of chance; it’s a matter of choice. It’s determined by what we say, what we do, and whom we trust.” – Rich Devos 9. “I believe no amount of business school training or work experience can teach what is ultimately a matter of personal character. Businesses are not dishonest or greedy, people are. Thus, a business, successful or not, is merely a reflection of the character of its leadership.” – Rich Devos

4. David Green – Founder of Hobby Lobby 10. “All the things we do, all our behavior, should let others know that we are living by, and operating in, Biblical principles. Principle and character are the highest quality traits on our list.” – David Green 11. “Focus on people more than money. Without employees and customers, you’re going nowhere. Make sure you never stop thinking about the customer’s perspective.” – David Green

5. Strive Masiyiwa – Founder of Econet Wireless 12. “If you begin to think business whether you own it or work for it like you would a wellmanaged sports team you will learn a lot of very interesting lessons.” – Strive Masiyiwa 13. “You can only find opportunities if you are looking for them.” – Strive Masiyiwa 14. “If you want to be successful, you’ll need many specialised business skills, but probably the most important one will surprise you: it’s the capacity to READ! Yes, READ!” – Strive Masiyiwa 15. “God is the same God, yesterday, today, and forever. The God of Moses is very much alive, and He wants to use you to change your world.” – Strive Masiyiwa

Keilahian TUHAN Yesus Kristus. Kelahiran-Nya dari rahim seorang Perawan. Karya penebusan dosa manusia melalui kematian-Nya diatas kayu salib. Kebangkitan-Nya.

DEVOTIONAL HONORING GOD WITH YO UR BUSINESS The marketplace needs more Christian entrepreneurs, those who are willing and ready to step out on faith. Many believers stray away from doing business because, let’s be honest, we’ve all seen examples of icky business practices. But those of us who feel the Lord is tugging on our hearts to own a business should not ignore His call. It's not worth it to be disobedient to the Lord because of fear or because you have negative, preconceived notions about business owners. Christian entrepreneurs have the opportunity to bring light into an industry that desperately needs it. A successful, thriving business owned by a believer glorifies God. Your business is your instrument to glorify God and could even bring people into His kingdom. Because of the potential to glorify God, you must be aware that the enemy will do anything to thwart your ministry with greed, dishonesty, and pride. The enemy will want you to take all of the credit for your success instead of shifting the attention to our Lord and Savior. He knows where there is self-reliance there is weakness. It is so important to keep your business covered in prayer to protect the integrity and success of your business, but also to constantly keep your heart in the right place. YIELD YOUR IDEAS AND PLANS TO HIM As Christian business owners, we have to understand that we are merely vessels for the work God wants to create. Therefore, before we spend hours brainstorming ideas, products, designs, and services, we need to open in prayer. We can come before God and ask Him What He wants us to do, say, and provide as business owners. Not only can this save us the headache of pursuing things we were never meant to do, but as we pray to be led by the Lord in all of our business activities, we will find ourselves in the safest place to be - in the will of God. because our businesses belong to the Lord, we can be assured that He will provide everything we need such as networking opportunities, ideas, collaborations, etc. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

13

As Christian entrepreneurs, we have to be especially mindful about what we say “yes” to and what we get involved in. You don’t need to attend every business conference or agree to every collaboration. We are called to be Spirit-led, not guided by our own feelings and desires. Before you agree to collaborate with someone, do some research. Are they a believer? Do they use methods/language that you are ok with being connected to? Don’t ignore the convictions and guidance you receive from the Holy Spirit. To truly honor God with your business ask Him for wisdom and discernment. Trust and believe that He will never lead you astray. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5 NIV GIVE An absolutely wonderful way to honor God with your business is to give. The Lord’s Word has much to say about giving because it is a true characteristic of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He sacrificially gave Himself, holy and sinless, so that you and I could experience life abundantly. Servitude and giving are not only important in our faith, but also in our business. “The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed” Proverbs 11:25 NLT We should strive to give our audience and clients more than they expect. Our products and services, blog posts, and emails should be a blessing. We don’t need to worry about withholding our best products or secret success strategies to ourselves. We know that the more we share, the more opportunities we have to truly change someone’s life. Ask yourself what you can do to give more to your audience and clients. Can you send a handwritten thank you note with the shipment of your product? Can you feature someone on your social media account? Is the content that you’re producing the highest quality that it can be? We can also honor God with our businesses by giving away a portion of our profits. You can commit to giving a portion of your profits to a non-profit organization. You could sow into other businesses. You could tithe from your profits. The main idea is that you give. God is pleased when we give and he knows our hearts when we give. “Give in proportion to what you have. Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly.” 2 Corinthians 8:11-12 NLT “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 14

BE THE LIGHT A Christian entrepreneur has a light inside that needs to be showcased to others. This entails so much more than announcing on every social media platform that you are a believer. Your light will be seen in the way you interact with your audience. It will be seen in the way you handle product refunds and not so nice comments. Honor God with your business by choosing to walk with integrity and kindness. People will be watching to see how you handle unexpected situations that arise in your business. But more importantly, your Lord and Savior will be watching. “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10 NIV In business we will see many examples of greed, dishonesty, and deceit. We will see people who don’t honor God who are thriving in business. But we know our hope is in the Lord. We know we are called to follow Him. He sees your hard work. He cares for you so much. He has not forgotten about you. He has already accounted for your struggles. He has won the victory for you already. Keep going and keep the faith. Honor the Lord with your business and He will surely bless you.
