In August 1966 at Compton s Cafeter a in the Tenderlo n, transgender women drag queens and other LGBTQ+ community members fought back aga nst constant pol ce harassment t became one of the first known acts of col ect ve transgender res stance n U.S h story.

When po ce attempted to arrest a trans woman ns de the cafeteria the commun ty refused to stay s lent. Coffee cups flew. W ndows shattered.

The protest spi led into the streets sending a powerfu message: enough.
