I grew up visiting Sea Island, and I couldn’t be happier for it to be the inspiration behind our Spring 2019 collection. My younger brother and I learned to dive at the Beach Club pool. We also joined many other families for countless games of bingo at The Cloister (p. 35). It’s where my wife and I spent a lot of time when we were dating, and we still jump at any opportunity to return with our family. I created Onward Reserve with a certain lifestyle in mind, and Sea Island embodies it perfectly. Our way of life involves being active in the outdoors. It is casual and understated but sticks to standards of excellence in quality and value.

The Tom Fazio re-designed course contains holes described by Bobby Jones as among the best nine holes of golf he ever played. By tying the original Seaside with the old Marshside course, Fazio, according to Davis Love III, transformed two nines from “18 holes that didn’t match into 18 matchless holes.”

ISLAMORADA FISHING SHIRT The shirt equivalent of a utility knife, our Islamorada Fishing Shirt is loaded with features tailormade for every fisherman’s needs.
Our fishing shirts are made from the same performance fabric as our performance button downs. They’re lightweight, moisture wicking and quick drying. We didn’t miss a detail. The Islamorada has roll tab sleeves, and a velcro rod holder above the front pocket. We chose side vents as opposed to a horizontal vent which makes for a more sophisticated shirt.

Exploring the Marshes of Glynn On the last day of our trip, we met at Rainbow Island to catch the sunrise from the water. There is nothing like being the first one out when the river is like glass. From our kayaks we saw some dolphins and a pair of egrets in the grass of the marsh. I can’t think of a more peaceful way to start the day.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jamie Calkin is an Athens, GA based ink and watercolor artist. Previously in academia and pursuing a career as a professor in science education, Jamie found himself shifting directions.
