YOUR STAY, YOUR WAY

Ireland’s accommodations are extremely varied, but you’ll find a cozy abode, tasty meal and friendly smile wherever your adventures take you.

To help you choose your accommodations, we’ve provided the lowdown on hotel starratings as compared to the U.S. star ratings to which you might be accustomed. Please note that hotels in Ireland are typically situated in older, historic buildings so rooms are generally smaller than hotel rooms in the U.S. and will normally allow up to two guests per room while triple/family rooms may be available upon request. Please note, air conditioning is not standard in Ireland so not all hotels will offer this amenity, especially those in older properties in the city center.

STAR RATINGS

5-Star |

This ranges from stately castles, country club hotels and luxury city hotels. Rooms are generally luxurious and spacious. This is the very best of the best in comfort and service. Air conditioning is typically provided.

4-Star |

This includes contemporary hotels and period houses to the highest standards with all modern comforts. Rooms are often slightly larger. These hotels also house restaurants that dish out excellent food and service. Air conditioning may or may not be provided or may be offered as an upgrade.

3-Star

|

This ranges from small family-run hotels to larger city hotels. Every guest room will have a private bathroom. 3-star restaurants prepare food to high standards in a relaxed atmosphere. Air conditioning is likely not provided.

When making your specific travel package selection, be sure to view hotel details to better understand which amenities are included as star ratings do not guarantee any of the above generalities.
