Reading Health System includes Reading Hospital, a 647-bed acute care hospital, and Reading Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a facility featuring a 50-bed skilled nursing unit and a 62-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. We provide primary and specialty care through Reading Health Physician Network, inhome nursing care through Affilia Home Health, and retirement living through The Highlands at Wyomissing. An extensive network of outpatient services are provided through offices and Urgent Care walk-in centers throughout the region.

Berks Encore engages the community to enable older adults to achieve a better quality of life by providing a comprehensive program of services, referrals, education, and advocacy. Since 1965 we have served older adults and their families through Meals On Wheels, health and wellness programs, exercise classes, income tax preparation, and Medicare and insurance counseling.

Berks Encore operates six centers throughout the county where older adults come to learn, create, socialize, and remain engaged.

Senior LIFE Reading is committed to enhancing the ability of seniors to live safely at home. The LIFE program is a great alternative to nursing homes.

Participants receive services both in their homes and at the Senior LIFE center. Services are provided at no cost to eligible seniors and include in-home care; medical, social, and rehabilitation services; and more. Transportation is included. Senior LIFE helps seniors live life to the fullest at home — with dignity, independence, and peace of mind.

The new 476,000 square foot building will add new surgical suites, private patient rooms, and an all-new “Green Roof” while paving the way for the existing Emergency Department and Trauma Center to be expanded by 21,000 square feet.
