To make Thousand Trails a fun place to be for you and your fellow campers, there are a few rules for courteous camping which we have summarized below. Please refer to your member handbook for a more complete and detailed set of the rules which apply to the use of your membership.
CAMPSITE CHECK-IN: 12:00 PM
RENTAL CHECK-IN: 4:00 PM
CHECK-OUT: Rental Cabins and Campsites 11:00 AM.
RVs, campers and tenters arriving after 11:00 PM, please contact the park to make arrangements.
A two-hour early check-in and/or two-hour late check-out for your reservation may be available, each for an additional fee. If interested in either option, contact the management office in advance of your arrival to inquire about availability. Early check-in/ late check-out not available at all locations.
QUIET TIME:11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Remember, sounds carry further after dark.
COUNTRY STORE: Hours are posted outside the Country Store.
SPEED LIMIT: 5 MPH. Country Store/Playground area 5 MPH. Only people with a valid driver’s license are permitted to operate a motor vehicle in the Campground.
COMFORT STATIONS: These facilities are cleaned daily and during these times, they are not available for use. Please accompany children under 6 years of age to the comfort stations. Please notify the Country Store of any situation needing attention.
TRASH: Please place all garbage in dumpsters. We do not have trash pick-up. Dumpsters are conveniently located around the Campground. Locations are shown on this site map.
RECYCLING: Place all paper, cardboard, bottles and cans into the recycling dumpster.
CAMPSITES: Do not cut through other camper’s sites. Clothes lines are not permitted.
CHILDREN: All children must be at their site by 11:00 PM. Parents are responsible for what their children are doing at all times. Young children need to be supervised at the playground. Children must be accompanied by an adult after 11:00 PM.
FIREARMS: BOWS, ARROWS, OR FIREWORKS are not permitted.
VEHICLES: 2 vehicles per site. Other vehicles may be kept in the visitor parking area for a fee (see Visitors). RVs: Cannot be left unoccupied overnight (fee).
FIRE PRECAUTIONS: A fire permit was issued by the Town of Wells, ME on the condition that fires are kept low, always attended by an adult and confined to the existing approved fireplaces. Moving of rings is prohibited. A FIRE IS A CAMPER’S BEST FRIEND AND WORST ENEMY. Extinguish your fire 100% with water before retiring or leaving your campsite.
CUTTING OF SHRUBS AND TREES: Is not permitted (including dead trees).
VISITORS: Members are limited to one (1) guest per family. Visitors must register and park their vehicles in designated areas. If members are expecting visitors, they must be preregistered.
POOL RULES are posted at the pool. OPEN from 10:00 AM to Dusk
MANAGEMENT: Reserves the right to interpret all rules to insure an orderly campground. We reserve the right to ask a camper to leave for disregarding the rules. All information subject to change with or without notice.
