Juliette and Jarrell Plantation

Only 12 miles east of Forsyth, browse the charming antique and gift shops of Juliette. Stroll the movie set with its historic grist mill and whistle-blowing trains, and of course, taste those fried green tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe.  Later, explore the nearby Jarrell Plantation Historic Site, an 1847 cotton plantation now preserved and open to the public. www.gastateparks.org/info/jarrell

Dauset Trails Nature Center

A place where everyone of all ages can explore the beauty of nature and wildlife in a relaxing, peaceful setting. www.dausettrails.com

High Falls State Park

Visitors can hike along the river’s edge and through hilly forest to the remains of a hydroelectric power plant foundation. In the early 1800s, this area was a prosperous industrial town with several stores, a grist mill, cotton gin, blacksmith shop, shoe factory and hotel. High Falls fell from prosperity in the 1880s when a major railroad bypassed it.

Robins Air Force Museum

The Museum is now the second largest museum in the United States Air Force, displaying 93 aircraft and hundreds of exhibits on a beautiful 43-acre site. Free admission. www.museumofaviation.org

Forsyth Farmer’s Market

The Market is open to the public and features fresh, local produce every Friday from 12pm to 6pm May - October. Located at North Jackson St behind the Farmers Bank. For more information please call 478-994-7747.

Forsyth Foxhunt

The Forsyth Foxhunt is a downtown based scavenger hunt. Small fox statues are hidden around different shops, businesses, and historic buildings, taking you on an adventure through Forsyth. This fox hunt is free and sure to delight all ages!
