In today’s fast-paced and constantly evolving business environment, making strategic investments is more important than ever. Every business, from solo entrepreneurs to regional powerhouses, is asking the same question: “How do I make sure I’m getting the best return on my investment?”
At One SouthCoast Chamber, we believe that membership is one of the most effective, reliable, and high-impact investments any business can make. Whether you’re a new member or a longtime supporter, your Chamber is working for you—every single day—whether you’re attending events, logging into webinars, or simply focusing on your day-to-day operations.
We are more than just a business organization—we are your partner in success. Our mission is to empower, support, and advocate for the businesses that power the SouthCoast region. In addition, some of the areas that provide value to every member: Connectivity, and Public Policy Advocacy.
CONNECTIVITY: Making Connections That Matter
You have probably heard it called “networking,” but at the Chamber, we like to call it connectivity—because it is about so much more than swapping business cards. It is about building meaningful relationships that can lead to partnerships, referrals, customers, mentors, and even friendships.
Whether you are a natural networker or prefer a more low-key approach, we offer a range of opportunities to connect, including:
• Morning mixers for early risers
• Lunchtime events to break up your workday with purpose
• Evening receptions and special events for those who thrive after hours
We understand that everyone’s schedule is different, so we create options that fit a variety of lifestyles and commitments. In addition, if in-person just is not feasible, your Chamber membership still gives you a powerful online presence—including vi-
sibility in one of the most searched regional business directories, trusted by consumers and fellow businesses alike.
We exist to connect you to opportunity.
PUBLIC POLICY ADVOCACY: Your Voice in Government
While you are focused on keeping your business running, the Chamber is keeping an eye on local, state, and federal legislation that could impact your bottom line. We recognize that most business owners do not have the time, resources, or insider access to advocate for themselves—and that’s where we step in.
Our Public Policy Advocacy team is active year-round, working on behalf of over 1,500 member businesses to promote a pro-business, forward-thinking agenda. We engage with lawmakers, monitor policy trends, and speak out on issues that affect:
• Taxation and regulation
• Economic development funding
• Workforce and labor issues
• Infrastructure improvements
• Public health and safety initiatives
We are known as a credible, respected, and nonpartisan voice—one that represents a broad and diverse business community. When we show up in the halls of government, policymakers listen.
We don’t just speak for you—we make sure
your concerns are heard and your needs are respected.
Always Working for You
One of the most important things we want our members to know in 2025 is this: Whether you attend every event or have not made it to one yet, your Chamber is always working for you.
We understand that every business is different. Some members engage daily. Others check in quarterly. In addition, that is okay. Our commitment does not change. We are here to offer resources, advocacy, connection, education, and support when you need it—and to be a steady, trusted partner when you do not.
Being a business owner can be overwhelming. However, with the Chamber in your corner, it does not have to be lonely.
Let’s Keep Building Something Great— Together
We are proud to represent such a dynamic, resilient, and forward-thinking business community here in the SouthCoast. Your membership means you are part of something larger—a network of innovators, entrepreneurs, advocates, and leaders who are shaping the future of this region
. In 2025 and beyond, we are honored to support you—and grateful to have your support in return.
One SouthCoast Chamber. Working for you. Every day.
Sincerely,
Mike O'Sullivan CEO
From the Big Leagues to the South Coast: Johnny Damon Headlines One
SouthCoast Chamber’s Celebrity Scholarship Dinner
Few athletes capture the heart of a city like Johnny Damon did in 2004. With his signature locks, relentless hustle, and clutch performances, Damon helped redefine the Boston Red Sox — and etch his name into baseball history. Now, the two-time World Series champion and beloved former outfielder is bringing his larger-than-life personality to the South Coast for a night fans won’t want to miss.
On Tuesday, May 20, Damon will headline One SouthCoast Chamber’s annual Celebrity Scholarship Dinner at the Venus de Milo in Swansea, Massachusetts — an event that promises both inspiration and impact, blending sports, storytelling, and scholarship.
Johnny Damon’s 18-year Major League Baseball career spanned seven teams, but his years with the Boston Red Sox cemented his legacy in New England. As the sparkplug at the top of the lineup, Damon played a vital role in breaking the Red Sox’s 86-year championship drought with their unforgettable 2004 World Series victory. Red Sox Nation will never forget his grand slam in Game 7 of the ALCS against the Yankees — a moment that
sealed Boston’s remarkable comeback and symbolized Damon’s fearless playstyle.
He later added another championship ring in 2009 with the New York Yankees, proving that his talent and leadership translated wherever he went. Damon retired with over 2,700 hits, 408 stolen bases, and a reputation as one of baseball’s most consistent, gritty performers.
Off the field, Damon has stayed active in charitable causes, youth mentorship, and motivational speaking — making him a perfect fit for the Chamber’s annual scholarship dinner.
Flash Sale: Limited-Time Ticket Offer
To help more fans and community members join the celebration, One SouthCoast Chamber is offering a limited-time flash sale on individual tickets. For a short window, guests can purchase tickets for just $100 — a $50 savings — while supplies last. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a star-studded evening at an unbeatable price, all while supporting a great cause.
The night will include a full dinner, silent auction, scholarship presentations to local
students and meet and greet with Johnny where he’ll be signing autographs. Damon will take the stage to share stories from his career, reflect on teamwork and perseverance, and connect with fans in an intimate setting.
Proceeds from the evening benefit the Chamber’s scholarship fund, helping South Coast students pursue their educational goals.
Whether you’re a lifelong Sox fan or simply someone who loves a good underdog story, this is an evening you won’t want to miss.
Tickets are available now at onesouthcoast.com/celebritydinner. Act fast — flash sale pricing won’t last long!
