our core values

DEPENDENT ON GOD

We are desperately dependent on God. We accomplish nothing of eternal worth apart from God’s Spirit empowering us, and we practice this dependence upon God by being Christ-centered and Gospel - focused

COMMITTED TO FAMILYBEING

We are continually committed to being family. The Holy Spirit, through the Gospel, creates a new community where we intentionally love and serve one another.

CONFIDENT IN THE BIBLE

We are completely confident in the Bible. The Bible is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

Children need Jesus.

The spiritual life does not have a certain age when the “switch is flipped.”

Being created in the image of God means that we are not only born with physical bodies, but are also created as mental, emotional, and spiritual beings.

The hungry child needs to be fed. The unlearned child needs to be taught. The bullied child needs to be safe. The spiritually impoverished child needs to know there is a God in whose image he or she is created. They need to know there is a Savior who loves them and died for them.

This is the heart of One Hope Canada and has been since 1927. Your partnership with us shows that it is your heart as well. Because of you, thousands of boys and girls in your community, and across Canada, have heard about Jesus—many of them for the first time. Thank you!

By God’s grace may we move forward together in 2023 to see even more children and youth come to know and love Jesus.

ANNUAL IMPACT REPORT 2022 3
The spiritually impoverished child needs to know there is a God.

Traveling from town to town, His goal was to share the Gospel with many (Luke 4:42-44). He adamantly preached everywhere, be it in synagogues or on the streets.

We do well to follow Jesus’ example, to take every opportunity to preach the Gospel. We must not be passive, content with our circumstances. We should expand our reach, even outside familiar circles.

This belief drives One Hope Canada. Everything we do, directly or indirectly, reflects our desire for many people —children, youth, and families—to hear Jesus’ good news.

Deception, misinformation, and confusion play a role in the lives of the youngest generation. The urgency to reach children and youth is perhaps greater now than ever before. We remain vigorously committed to camp ministry and community outreach in the year ahead.

Your partnership makes this possible. The Lord bless you.

CAMPS &

The passion that inspired One Hope Canada founder J. Lloyd Hunter still drives One Hope Canada today— to share the good news of Jesus with children and youth.

They come from areas rural and urban. Some have church backgrounds; many come from homes with no faith connections. Some have never even seen a Bible.

Thanks to your generosity, these boys and girls learn who Jesus is, and what He has done for us!
