The high cost of living in Teton County, Wyoming leaves little room in household budgets for the kinds of enriching opportunities that help children grow. For many, the cost of summer camps, art classes or sports leagues is simply out of reach.
Barriers exist beyond cost. Registration for programs often opens in narrow windows and fills within minutes, creating additional hurdles for families without reliable internet access, flexible work schedules or computer literacy. As a result, many children are unintentionally
excluded from experiences that not only provide safe and reliable childcare, but also support physical and emotional well-being.
One22’s Youth Enrichment Scholarship (YES) program exists to change that. By removing financial and access barriers, we open doors for youth to participate in enriching experiences beyond the school day—creating pathways for growth, belonging and possibility, regardless of income or circumstance.
The budget gap is real.
More than half of those utilizing YES are from low-income families, in the 0-50% Median Family Income range. A household of four in this range has a maximum income of $5,895 per month.
Today, a family of four faces average monthly expenses of $3,400 for a two-bedroom apartment, $2,400 for childcare and $1,500 for food. With the average cost of summer camp at almost $400 per week, youth activities do not fit into the budget.
EXPANDING ACCESS, REMOVING BARRIERS
YES provides year-round scholarships for local youth to participate in more than 30 extracurricular and summer activities, including team sports, arts programs and outdoor adventures.
What YES Provides
• Direct financial assistance for activities and camps
• Reserved spots with program partners to reduce enrollment barriers
• One simple application per household with centralized coordination
• Stipends for equipment, supplies and travel
Who YES Serves
• Families who live or work in Teton County, Wyoming
• Low, moderate or middle income (up to 120% Median Family Income)
• Youth entering kindergarten through eighth grade
Beyond a Scholarship
YES often serves as a family’s entry point to One22’s full range of services. Families who connect through scholarships frequently go on to access additional services, strengthening stability across the household.

A COOPERATIVE MODEL
YES is designed as a shared investment—bringing together families, community partners and philanthropic support to expand access for youth. The program was originally launched in partnership with the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, whose early support helped shape it into the impactful resource it is today. Now, a broader community of supporters plays a vital role in continuing this work.
At the heart of YES is a cooperative model: a three-way partnership between One22 Resource Center, local program providers and participating families. Each partner contributes a portion of the cost. The cost to the family varies based on their income level, and this sliding scale model typically reduces the family’s financial obligation to about one-third of the regular fee.

THE IMPACT OF YES
In 2025, YES made 588 activities possible for 208 local youth, a 20% increase in scholarships from 2024.
YES is about more than access. Enrichment opportunities help youth build confidence, develop new skills and discover their interest in environments that support growth and belonging.
According to the Afterschool Alliance, children who participate in such programs get better grades, make gains in math and reading and attend school more consistently. In addition to discovering their passions, they are more likely to graduate and have higher incomes with better jobs as adults.
Scholarships also strengthen the stability of households, allowing families to stretch limited budgets and free up resources for essentials like food, housing and healthcare. At the same time, these programs provide safe, reliable care for working parents. Together, these outcomes unlock a child’s potential, provide relief for families and strengthen the fabric of our community.

What It Takes to Sustain YES
YES is a proven, growing program built over more than a decade to meet the evolving needs of local families. We are entering a new phase focused on long-term sustainability and independent funding. The need for youth access to enriching experiences is ongoing and increasing. As YES moves into its next chapter, you can be part of the solution.
We are seeking three-year commitments to help reach our goal of $200,000 annually for the YES Fund. Your investment will support scholarships, coordinated access to programs and the guidance families need to find stability—ensuring more youth can participate and build for a better future.
