5 Bleeding Patterns of Uterine Cancer Bleeding patterns can provide clues to the type and stage of the cancer
Heavy bleeding This is the most common bleeding pattern in uterine cancer. It can be excessive bleeding during periods or bleeding that lasts longer than usual.
Irregular bleeding Uterine cancer can cause bleeding between periods, or bleeding that occurs after menopause when the uterus is no longer shedding its lining.
Spotting Women with uterine cancer may experience spotting, which is light bleeding that occurs outside of their regular menstrual cycle.
Painful bleeding Some women with uterine cancer may experience painful bleeding during menstruation or after sexual intercourse.
Watery discharge In some cases of uterine cancer, there may be a watery or blood-tinged discharge that is not related to menstruation.
