Nestled within 4,000 wooded acres of picturesque rolling hills at the edge of Austin – surrounded by pristine vistas, nature preserves, hiking trails and waterways – Barton Creek Country Club provides an elevated, private club experience curated for our members with endless possibilities.
The rich history of Barton Creek Country Club starts in 1986. The vision of the future development in the rolling hill country came together with the aid of former Texas Governor John Connolly and former Lieutenant Governor Ben Barnes. The legendary University of Texas football coach, Darrel Royal, was a founding member of Barton Creek Country Club and frequently golfed Barton Creek’s courses. Coach Royal is still honored today as truly the cornerstone of the club’s history including our annual, and highly popular, DKR Member Guest tournament, and of course Coach Royal’s famous chicken sandwich on the club’s dining menu as a staple.
Today, the club includes four championship level golf courses with premier course designers: Tom Fazio, Arnold Palmer, along with Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Paired with world-class tennis and an all-encompassing social calendar, members of Barton Creek Country Club have a haven of refuge, away from their day-to-day life, where convenience meets excellence at a club they call home.

Golf Member in Waiting is a unique membership, offering unlimited access to Barton Creek Country Club’s esteemed facilities with fitness center and classes, world class dining, heated pool, adult and family friendly social events as well as racquet activities just at your finger tips. You will experience endless rounds of golf on the 2024 renovated Palmer Lakeside course in the most serene and beautiful rolling hills of Spicewood, Texas.

Looking for GOLF?
If you desire more golf then membership provides, there is an additional option. Barton Creek Country Club offers “Play Away”, a travel benefit registered through participating clubs world wide that allows golf access up to twice per month. This benefit is an additional $80 on your membership and provide cart fee only when playing at participating courses. The signature par-three 11th hole is highlighted by a cascading waterfall and native flora. KIDS CLUB
The Kids Club is a complimentary service designed for Club Members' dependents aged 1 to 8 years old. Parents can make the most of Club or Resort facilities while their children participate in a variety of activities. It's essential to understand that the Kids Club emphasizes recreational pursuits rather than operating as a daycare center. Families can enjoy up to 12 hours of playtime weekly, with each session restricted to a maximum of 4 hours.
SHARKS SWIM TEAM
The Sharks Swim Team is a member of the Austin Hills Swim League, which includes 10 Austin-area recreational summer swim teams. These teams are bound by the single purpose of providing a fun, rewarding experience for all of our swimmers! The season begins in mid-April and ends in mid-June with around 8 meets throughout the season.

Camp Barton is a traditional summer day camp offering a unique balance of day camp experiences in the convenient and familiar setting of Barton Creek Country Club from June - August! With a combination of outstanding amenities, exciting programming, and experienced and energetic staff, our structured and fun day camp is the perfect place for your child. Each day of camp will provide a new and exciting experience and no two days are alike!
OPERATION 36® GOLF
Barton Creek is proud to be a registered Operation 36® facility! This program introduces kids to the game of golf through a variety of structured lessons with interactive games and activities. The goal of our curriculum is to engage juniors ages 6-15 in the sport, build camaraderie and teach them how to shoot par (36) or better for 9 holes.
JUNIOR TENNIS ACADEMY
The Junior Tennis Academy is designed to provide our young players with the skills necessary to climb the ladder of success in tennis. Barton Creek has adopted the United States Tennis Association’s Youth Tennis Progression. This format allows younger players to rapidly develop tennis skills utilizing appropriately sized equipment with court dimensions scaled to meet the chronological, developmental, and physiological age of our junior players.
