Himno de los Durmientes (Sleeper's Hymn) -­‐ Violin, Viola and Violoncello.

Hay que dormir con los ojos abiertos, hay que soñar con la manos, soñemos ríos ac8vos de río buscando su cauce, sueños del sol soñando sus mundos, hay que soñar en voz alta, hay que cantar hasta que el cando eche raíces, troncos, ramas, pájaros, astros.

The Himno de los Durmientes is a collaboraCve piece by Omar Fraire and Rolando López. Its a curatorship by Punto Ciego FesCval for the Guggenheim Aguascalientes Museum.

The composiCon is part of a whole, is apart of a bigger work named Guggenheim Aguascalientes Museum.

This part is composed by Omar Fraire through the personal sonic reading in several levels, of three images of rail train sleepers.

Violin, Viola and Violoncello wake the sound up in these sleepers. There is a social importance behind all this. Solomon Guggenheim was in Aguascalientes a hundred years ago. He had a mining smelter there and its toxic waste are still there. The working condiCons were bad for the people at the mine. There was a lot of working risk and lot social inequality. The train was made for the transportaCon of these material to a specific place in Aguascalientes.

The sleepers of the rail train are our workers and our sound, we want to wake them up. Among its cracks lives the Cme of those days and the sound of today's hymn.

The Hymn form is three solos, one for each instrumento, separated by three tuX. Every one of the six secCons lasts one minute ca.. Each one of the sleepers is interpreted once by a soloist and once by the trio.

The parCcelli have the sleeper's image for interpreCng, the wriUen part is a reading possibility of the sleeper's sound.

The musician must use this images as a complementary part of the wriUen part and he can use them to interpret whatever he doesn't find on the score.

The wriUen part suggests the interpretaCon ways that can be done from the sleeper's image.

Each image is divided by six spaces that represent ten seconds each one, then each sonic reading of each sleeper lasts one minute ca.. Inside each one of these spaces it is wriUen the sounds to perform.

Every sound event should be performed in relaCon with the occupied space inside these secCons. According to this, it is a possibility that the duraCon of the piece extend itself or not in its total duraCon.

El himno de los durmientes es una obra colaboraEva de Omar Fraire y Rolando López. Curada por el Encuentro de Sucesos AcúsEcos Simultáneos Punto Ciego para el Museo Guggenheim Aguascalientes.

Tanto el programa de mano, las imágenes, los atriles, el entorno donde se presenta y la pieza sonora son parte de la obra completa.

Aunque originalmente forma parte de las acEvidades del contexto especìfico del museo, la pieza sonora es sucepEble de interpretarse nuevamente en diversos espacios.

Esta parte de la pieza se compone a través de la lectura sonora a disEntos niveles -­‐desde el metafórico hasta la analogía-­‐ de tres imágenes diferentes de durmientes. Violín, Viola y Violoncello despiertan el sonido que existe en ellos.

Sobre la interpretación y la escritura.

La interpretación deberá de realizarse preferentemente acostados en el suelo, con atriles especiales que los arEstas pueden proporcionar. La forma del himno consta de tres solos, uno para cada instrumento, intercalados por tres tuV. Cada una de las seis secciones resultantes dura un minuto aproximadamente. Cada durmiente es interpretado una vez por un solista y otra por el trio.

Las parEcelli conEenen las imágenes de los durmientes a interpretar, la parte escrita es una posible lectura al sonido del durmiente.

El intérprete deberá uElizar estas imágenes como parte complementaria de lo escrito y podrá hacer uso de ella para interpretar lo que en la parte escrita no encuentre.

Dicha parte escrita sugerirá las formas de lectura que pueden hacerse de la imagen del durmiente.

Cada imagen se divide en seis espacios que representan diez segundos cada uno, así cada lectura sonora del durmiente dura un minuto ca. En cada uno de estos seis espacios se escriben los sonidos a realizar.

Deberá de interpretarse cada suceso sonoro en relación al espacio que ocupa dentro de esas secciones de diez segundos. ExisEendo esta libertad para el músico, se posibilita que la pieza exEenda o acorte un poco su duración.
