OOnce upon a time, there were two home owners living in the same town. Both were concerned about their family’s safety, so they decided to install a radon mitigation system in their homes.
The first homeowner chose a full radon mitigation system, which included a fan and a pipe that ran from the basement to the roof The fan would draw air from the basement and blow it outside, taking any radon gas with it. The second homeowner chose a passive system, which required no fan and just had a pipe running from the basement to the roof.
The results were drastically different. Over the course of a year, the radon levels in the first homeowner’s home decreased significantly, to the point where it was safe for their family to be living in the house. The second homeowner’s home, however, only saw a slight decrease in radon levels While they had made some progress, it was not enough to make the home safe for their family.
The difference between these two systems is that the full radon mitigation system is much more effective than the passive system. The fan in the full system ensures that the radon gas is constantly drawn out of the house, while the passive system relies on natural air currents to do the same job. This means that passive systems are often not as effective at reducing radon levels
The moral of the story is that when it comes to protecting your family from radon gas, a full mitigation system is definitely the way to go It will provide the best protection, and ensure that your family is safe from radon gas.
